Don't let the nice pictures fool you, only select spots are next to the little creek and it's not a beautiful large creek like pictured. The creek is small and has very steep sides, very difficult if you have arthritis and hard for dogs and small kids to cool off in.
There is zero privacy between sites, no trees or bushes and very little shade. You can hear your neighbors fart, people play loud music late into the night and lots of people are loudly drunk. All the RV campers have tons of bright lights on all night, and you can barely see the stars due to their lights. It's not peaceful or relaxing at all.
Everything is mostly gravel, so if you're tent camping bring extra mats or cots. The sun also bakes the gravel and makes it much hotter than other areas. Group sites 1 and 2 are AWFUL, only 3 is alright. 1 and 2 are up a very steep gravel hill that even trucks had issues getting up. There is NO shade or privacy and walking up/down the hill to the bathroom is annoying. Spot 28 is the best in the entire rv park.
This is a sort of decent spot for RVs but absolutely not for tent or pop up camping. Awful for dogs due to the gravel being hot and hard on their paws. If you bring dogs please watch them for heat exhaustion! There is also a 3 PAGE list of rules worse than a picky airBnB.
The only good thing here is the extremely clean bathrooms and showers. Overall will not come back and will...
Read moreThis is a fantastic option for tent or RV camping anywhere near the Nantahala Gorge.
If you are headed to fish the Nantahala, ride the rapids, visit the NOC or anything else in the area, this place is in a great location!
One thing that was really nice is that I had very good cellular signal at this campground, even though I was only minutes from my fishing spot.
The entire campground looked brand new. The roads and RV spots were gravel, and each spot had a picnic table. Most of the spots had RV electrical and water hookups and even fire rings.
My spot was right next to the creek, so I slept really well with the sound of the water in the background.
My trip was very last minute, but the owner/manager answered the phone even though I was calling after normal business hours.
He told me to meet with the Camp Host when I arrived, and I hopped in the truck and headed to the campground. She was super nice, and I was able to park, set up my rooftop tent and get settled in.
It was very easy to find, very clean and the bath house was even heated. Everything looked brand new in the bath house, and it had several stalls and showers.
I actually texted a buddy of mine that often goes on fishing trips just like this one with me and told him that I found a new campground for our next trip. I was...
Read moreGreat campground, clean amenities, beautiful creek. It’s a new campground so it doesn’t have any personal touches of an established campground. Not very many postings as to where things are or what the buildings are, you have to stumble upon them. No clear direction once you book your spot what your site number is, you’ll need to call. T-mobile doesn’t work good in the area (per our neighbor), thankfully we have Verizon. The communication with the staff is limited as there is no clear office building, just a phone number to call and your call back can be up to 10hrs later. I would say, don’t have many expectations here and be self sufficient. It is a beautiful spot, we would stay there again! Just can’t give them a high review...
