Kitschy motel on a cliff with a vintage feel.
Stayed here for one night on our World’s Longest Yardsale road trip. There was a big storm that evening, which made for a pretty spectacular lightning show from our room on the edge of the cliff!
When you arrive, drive past the first buildings on the right to the small cabin structure on the left side of the parking lot. That is where you will check in and get your room keys.
Hey, PSA! Please don’t leave with your room key at the end of your stay! They are unique to your rooms and can’t easily be remade. We had to wait a little while when we arrived because the people in our room previously had left with their key, and they had to remake a room key for us.
The hotel was built in the 50’s so the rooms definitely have a vintage feel. The views from the balcony are awesome. Our particular room, 101, was down a set of narrow outdoor stairs that were quite wet after the storm so be aware, if you have mobility issues, there may be some rooms that are complicated to enter for you at this hotel.
The swimming pool was gorgeous with the same great view as the rest of the hotel.
We had a hot tub in our room, which was fun. It was in a separate room all to itself with a big window. While the Jacuzzi was hot and nice, sadly, the water in our shower never heated up. The room also has some convenient accessories like a mini fridge, coffee maker, and flatscreen TV.
The king-sized memory foam bed was a nice touch. Be aware, if you haven’t rested on memory foam before, it sleeps a little hot.
The staff were friendly and didn’t rush us out in the morning when it was time to get back...
Read moreMy family and I have been on dozens of road trips and have stayed at many hotels along the way and this by far, was the best experience from start to finish. We were visiting our daughter who lives in Burkesville and this was the closest place to accommodate our needs. We needed a place to stay for a week but didn’t expect it to be as wonderful and relaxing. We stayed in room 302 and were incredible surprised when we walked in, the room was fresh and clean and enormous. It had a jacuzzi tub, a skylight, 2 bathrooms, and the most incredible back deck view you could imagine, our room sat atop the town of Burkesville and you could even hear the gorgeous church bells from the deck, The pool was lovely and the beds and pillows were a dream. (We are looking into buying them for ourselves, they were that comfortable) my family hasn’t slept that well in a long time. Finally, every single person who works there was great from calling for reservations, to being greeted by the owners sweet dogs upon check-in. I cannot think of one single complaint except that we had to leave. We will...
Read moreStayed one night at the Alpine Motel (Wotel) I think the "M" on the motel roof flipped, so it says Wotel! We were here for the Rollercoaster Yard Sale weekend. We book a queen room with private balcony on the top floor (as it was level with the parking lot). The lower rooms had steps to get there and one open balcony. The family that runs the Motel are super friendly & helpful.||||Alpine Motel is at the top of the hill. If you are driving east to west it is visible on the left side near the quaint town square. Great view of downtown Burkesville from this lofty perch! Coffee station, but no food available on the premises.||||Bed is a "Sleep Evolution" - which is 6" of foam & 2" of cool gel. Very comfortable. Room was warm and we had a hard time finding the AC unit. It was tucked behind the table & 2 chairs in the room.||||They have a gate that you need a pass code to get back in after 10 PM. They had 2 corn hole games in the middle of the...
