Stay was pleasant, suite was clean, staff were keen and this hotel is close to the Canadian border.
Only thing that needs serious changing is to PLEASE add the CBC or BBC-Canada to your television package. I live in a small village in northern British Columbia. We rarely/almost never watch American news. In Canada we watch the CBC or BBC-Canada. Believing we could actually catch up on what was going on in the world, we foolishly turned on CNN, FOX and any of your American national news shows in our room suite. Sadly, it was all non-stop about your President Trump and Stormy Weather and some cash payout. All of these American television newsreaders shouting at each other and stepping on each others sentences. Much too much anger for this Canadian family. If we were in Canada watching the news we would have a reasonable expectation that we would hear about the possible peace process in the Korean penisula, what is going on in South America, our Commonwealth of nations and Canada's role in it, etc. Your television choices are very limiting and seem to be wired towards loud and angry Americans, both left of centre and right of centre. As an outsider, it was a bit sad to watch. The breakfast food offerings are a nice gesture but some healthier, far less fattening foods would be appreciated. As you are an American hotel, fatty foods cannot be changed easily into healthier options. I did not see real thick-cut porage anywhere, just some make-believe porage with chemical enhancers in a sealed paper envelope. Nor was there any brown sauce (HP), or grilled tomatoes to be seen. I will give higher ratings for almost all, save for quality of breakfast food and the angry television news options. All else seemed great and the staff are very respectful and professional. All in all, the consensus was we would come back. We can always pack our...
Read moreI was just coincidentally in the parking lot of this hotel when my day turned so disastrous that people watching it couldn’t believe it was real. It involved a rented Tesla that wasn’t supposed to be rented becoming unusable. Just to be clear, this had nothing to do with the hotel or Tesla, this was just a fact I only discovered when plugging the car in here.
This is where the praise for the staff here starts and this is primarily for the benefit of the spreadsheet mongers that rule their careers based on these reviews, not other guests. Though I hope anyone enjoys reading it.
Natasha specifically, but also everyone else I spoke to here were the kindest people I dealt with on this nightmare day. My own family were more interested in demanding the story from me for their own curiosity than helping me.
Natasha treated me with more kindness and compassion than I have ever received from my therapist and I love my therapist. Also sorry Bonnie, I can’t lie. She was super nice. I was in a place that no human being can be expected to do anything but scream in. She helped me not do that so I didn’t have to feel like a crazy jerk later.
Compassion and empathy of this kind are the noblest pursuits a human being can hope to aspire to. Someone who already embodies these traits decades before the age where even Socrates or Bob Ross understood them as such is a rare and precious human talent.
Specifically for corpo turnips: Why don’t you call the employees at this location and ask them how to run a hotel? Not that I can ever remember a bad stay at a Marriott, but I don’t remember any stay at a Marriott besides this one. I don’t even remember if you guys are the one with the Norwegian hotel wizard or Shaq in the commercials, but I will remember these kind people for the...
Read moreI've stayed in the hotel twice and had very different experiences each time. I stayed with my family with two kids and two adults with one child being under 2. The first time we stayed it was lovely. They brought us a crib all set up in the room, the TV was on with my name on it which was very welcoming and I said to the front desk it was nice to come into a room which was so warm with welcome. The front desk person was lovely and we used the pool and the laundry room with no issue. Normal room and night stay. The second time I stay it was a totally different story. The front desk was really nice as usual but that's where it stopped. They put us in a disabled room next to the elevator so we got the noise from people getting off and on late at night and early in the morning. The room was big but it's obvious it has not been well maintained. There were broken lights on the bed, the wardrobe door almost fell off and hurt my wife, the shower head was broken and would stay in place and the noise coming not only from the adjoining room but outside with the fraight trains was terrible. It was not a good experience at all. If any of us were disabled I would have asked to change to another room. The fridge was also set too cold and froze a lot of our food over night which was not good. There are a lot of great places to eat with Walmart also down the way. As mentioned the reception and people who work there are so lovely and always willing to help. I got a delivery there and it came on time and they got it for me. My honest opinion is that I will be asking Marriott for some type of compensation. The good is there are plenty of rooms. I'm also getting emails from "general managers" sent to me via their personal AOL email. Not very...
