This place could be a 10/10 but I’m not exaggerating when I say the women’s bathhouses have an infestation of medium to large sized spiders. Above the showers, above the sinks, above the door when you walk in and on all the walls so you have to be careful not to bump into them. And they’re fast! I’ve seen them speed running along the walls trying to catch a moth, fighting each other, multiplying. They have signs saying they close the bathhouse everyday from 1-2pm for cleaning but I legitimately don’t know how it could take you an hour to sweep the floors and not to manage the spiders somehow. Sticky traps? Sprays? Power wash the bathroom like other campgrounds? Nope, same spiders and webs are always there so nothing much is being done about them from what I can tell. The bathhouse down by the beach is almost as bad and it does not have showers except the outdoor spigot in case you’re wondering. On a lesser note, the showers are… uncomfortably high pressure. Imagine showering on the bottom floor of the titanic as the water rushes in. It’s like getting water boarded if water boarding meant pelting you in the eyes, face, etc with a board of water. The nozzles don’t move and there’s no way to control temperature, pressure, and no room to move farther away or reposition from the onslaught of cold -ish water… luckily showers don’t take long because you have to keep an eye on the spider above your head and if another one starts rushing in shower time is over anyway. They do have tent and camper spaces intermixed in some areas, which has caused a little trouble here and there but it was manageable. There are trees, tree stumps, root systems, etc to navigate in many of the spaces. Luckily we got here early enough to try moving around for a level spot without hitting two trees a few times. The shade was nice so it’s better than no trees I guess! Staff is very friendly and responsive.. just not great spider wranglers.

Sites are very compact and basically right on top of each other. There is basically no site on the whole campground with any type of privacy. Our campsite #47 which on their website claimed to be 30ft deep but our tent barely fit the long way. Seemed like most the sites were like this, shallow and mildly wide. As a long time camper I am used to living beside wildlife. However, never in my 30 years of camping have I seen such bold wildlife. After seeing an animal scratching at our cooler on the picnic table we decided to move the cooler to the screened in portion of our tent. The animal then continued to break into our cooler and steal a sandwich from within our tent. The bathrooms were also destroyed from wild animals overnight, the clean up crew was quick and on it as early as 6am which was nice. Overall, the bathrooms were kept relatively clean and location to Burlington was nice. If planning on staying here, I highly suggest locking all food and trash into the trunk of your vehicle overnight.

Your equipment is not safe here. Arrived to read camper report of bike theft posted on bathhouse door. Awoke the first morning to another report of bikes stolen during the night. Husband triple locked up our e-bikes. Woke 2nd morning here to find one lock had been cut. Another camper had their bikes stolen during the night. City campground with primary road serving as access to the beach. Campground access to a paved trail that runs along the lake is often left open. Vehicle can be heard driving through the campground at all hours. No police patrol of the grounds and the lack of security cameras is very concerning. The night is very long when you know people are prowling the campground with the intent to steal your belongings. This campground could be so much better. Wish it was!

I have been a loyal visitor of North Beach Campground for many years and have always appreciated its fantastic location next to the bike path, beach, and its proximity to downtown Burlington. However, I must express my deep disappointment with the declining cleanliness of the bathroom facilities during my recent stay.

To put it bluntly, the state of the bathrooms was horrifying. The showers were thoroughly disgusting, with dirty floors and malfunctioning fixtures. The vents were covered in filth, and the walls and ceilings were beyond dirty, adorned with spider webs and bugs. The toilets were an indescribable sight, as they were not cleaned regularly. Wet paper clung to the sides, and when they were soiled, they remained that way for the entire day due to a lack of maintenance. Even the sinks were disgusting and far from clean.

It saddens me to have to write such a poor review, as I genuinely love this campground and have cherished many memories here. However, I strongly believe that this situation needs to be brought to the attention of the management. Having visited numerous campgrounds across North America, I can confidently say that the state of the bathrooms at North Beach Campground is by far the worst I have ever encountered.

I would like to urge the staff or management to spend a few days using these bathrooms themselves, so they can truly understand the frustration and discomfort that guests experience. Neglecting the cleanliness of the facilities is an unfortunate way of taking your customers for granted.

I sincerely hope that this review serves as a wake-up call and prompts the necessary actions to address the issue. The cleanliness of the bathrooms is a vital aspect of any camping experience, and it should not be overlooked. North Beach Campground has the potential to provide a remarkable camping experience, and I genuinely hope to see improvements...
