My family stayed in Loop C this weekend. We were in campsite 8. We really enjoyed the location. It's right near the lake, so in warm weather you can definitely take advantage of it. It's a little close to the RDU airport, so you do hear airplanes occasionally flying over. There is also a shooting range nearby. We heard the gun range some on Saturday morning, but it didn't last all day. The facilities were nice. We went in early November. It was nice to see that they have plenty of hot water and the bath house is heated. There are several shower stalls and multiple toilets on each side (men and women). The campsites were nice and maintained. There doesn't seem to be well defined tent pads, but we made due on the fine crush and run gravel in our site. I would recommend checking it out!

Well maintained campground with lots of nice space around the site. Went in April during "pollen festival" so that added an extra dimension to the overnight stay for sure (see photo of pollen drifting through flashlight beam). RV people are loud, so don't get a tent spot too close to Loop B. Also, planes fly low overhead at night, so if you wake up thinking they're about to land on your tent, don't worry. The boat ramp and swim areas are not accessible before 8 am, so you can't go out to the peninsula for sunrise.

Great place to spend quality time with the family. This particular campground was very peaceful with a rolling hill, wooded terrain. The lake shore is more rocky, so there is a danger for snakes and it's a little hard to find a spot to fish from the shore. Once we found spot, we were catching fish left and right... mostly catfish. Tip, best to bottom fish here or set the bobber high so as to get the bait deeper. I didn't try artificial, so give that a shot as well.

If I could rate it a zero I would. First of all our original camping reservation was taken by another camping group by mistake . there wasn’t any issue until I noticed the group had blocked the drive way with multiple cars and had positioned their tents in the non designated areas. Worried That I could be liable since the reservation was in my name. I Went to the front desk and explained the situation our reservation was switched directly next to our original camping reservation. Thought that would the end of my troubles . Around 12am campers on my opposite direction played super loud rock music with their speakers while flashing super bright LED lights directly at my tent I was trying to sleep in. I work really hard and simply wanted a small break from it all and simply go fishing the next morning . But was continually bombarded with interruptions. I left feeling more exhausted than when I originally arrived. DONT CAMP HERE IF YOUR WANT PEACE AND SILENCE...
