Rainbow Canyon Motel — Hotel in Caliente

The room was clean and comfortable. Not luxurious, but it was all I needed for this trip and having a clean/safe/comfortable room is what matters most to me.The only drawback was there was no microwave, but I was told when I checked in that I could always run over to the gas station/quicky mart (right next door, they own that business as well) to use theirs, if needed. I also was not able to connect to their internet router, but sometimes that happens in rural areas. I would stay there again, it was very convenient to scenic landscapes that I was there to see. We stayed here for a family reunion. We've stayed here before and like it. There's not much competition in this small town. I'm giving it four stars in relation to what else is available nearby. The motel is clean and in good repair. The staff is friendly and accommodating. It was nice to be close to Kershaw Ryan State Park where we had part of the reunion. Our motor home broke down outside Caliente. We limped in to town at 8 pm and stopped at a convenience store. My husband asked the clerk where we could get it fixed. A man overhead our predicament and told us where the repair shop was. He then told us he owned this motel and generously offered to let us park there for the night. Though we didn't go inside, the place looks very tidy and we'll maintained. When we travel through next time, by car, we will definitely stay here. We are very grateful for this man's generosity to...
