Rooms depend on what building you are staying in. Of course the older buildings, the rooms aren't as nice, but they are closest to most activities, in what's called the main village (lots of activities during prime season). Newer more deluxe rooms are in West Hills or the Northern Hills sections. Free shuttle to where you want to go within this resort. Service is usually very good, sometimes due to lack of help things can be delayed a little (as with almost anywhere nowadays). Beautiful salt water pools, many free activities, others can have a cost. We love going to the comedy show, always a great main comedian, $15 per person. A few different restaurants on the premises, including one upscale restaurant, one more family oriented, pizza place, Ben and Jerry's. Many activities for teens in the teen center. I think possibly 2 lounges on premise. So many offerings during prime season... very little to do in the off season! We have never been in winter, just not our thing.... resort is pretty much secluded, wonderful restaurants heading towards Stowe. Our favorite is an upscale Italian Restaurant, Trattoria La Fiesta, which has the best food, owner is always on premises, great waitstaff, beautiful gardens in the summer.. it's always our one very...
Read moreWe love Smugglers Notch. We have grown to dislike Wyndham management. DO NOT GO TO A TIMESHARE PRESENTATION/UPDATE...they won't care about you after you leave!!! We were given a $100 gift card for attending a timeshare update. The card did NOT work and we have spent 10 days (about 3 hours of our time) trying to get them to fix this problem. We have yet to get the phone call we asked for. After 3 hours of emails and messages to "secretaries" we found out that the card was not keyed in correctly on their end! It took 3 HOURS to figure this out. Shame on them...and now they still won't call us. We wanted more added to the card for our troubles and time! EDIT: We spent about 1.5 hours on the phone with Wyndham corporate after a comment on a FB post got a response. They said there was nothing they could do for us and that they would help us to speak to the people at Wyndham Smugglers Notch. We were put on hold and then connected to someone NOT affiliated with Wyndham at Smuggs. The person had hung up and we were left to try to explain our situation, but could not as we were only able to leave a message and STILL await a call. What an...
Read moreWe've enjoyed Club Wyndham Smugglers' Notch a couple times. Neither was in winter, so we can't comment on the skiing, but each room comes with a ski locker, some buildings are trailside so you can ski right out your door and back, and the mountain looks huge. We've visited in the summer when you can drive to the resort from Stowe through the notch (a beautiful drive that's closed during parts of the year, requiring you to drive from the west).
We paid $5 per person for the Notch pass that lets you use the three pool areas, two of which have waterslides. The kids loved all of them. The resort has shuttles to take you around, though a lot of things are walkable. They really could benefit from adding sidewalks: most of the resort is traversed on a network of dirt roads. There are a few restaurants on the grounds, and activity areas with zip lines and more. This is a great place to stay for the local scenic beauty.
Note that if you're used to Wyndham properties this one is a little different (coffee for the drip machine isn't free every day, for example). We also found the WiFi terrible, but that may have been specific...
