Always past this place on the I-17 and didn't realize how wonderful it was till we unfortunately got stuck in Camp Verde. Now, we will be back! They worked with us to get a spot last minute at the end of day on a Friday because our tow vehicle radiator busted and we needed a place to stay with our trailer till we could get another tow vehicle. Wasn't sure how long we would need to stay, so they made sure we got a site that we could extend the number of days we needed. Once we arrived we were so glad we got stuck there because the place is wonderful and relaxing! So many amenities: swimming pool, horseshoe's, kids playgrounds, pickle ball, clubhouse with activities, large and clean shower rooms, laundry facilities, and a private river walk complete with tree swing. The sites are well kept and nice size, though they do not have tables at the sites. The sites are gravel, but the roads are paved which was nice for everyone to ride their bikes and walk dogs on. Cost was very reasonable too. I would strongly recommend this place, especially if you have kids and want to be close to water during the summer. Also note that when we stayed it as close to 90 during the day, but with the constant breeze that Camp Verde seems to have you didn't notice it was hot out.

First off I love the park and the first class amenities. What we didn't like is the weirdness of this place. The handout sheet had all of the rules. But you don't pay never mind to that sparky. We have another set and we will ask you to leave without argument... nice introduction. Another is the friggin cameras... feel safe yet? They have as many as some casinos. If the cameras miss something they have there own neighborhood watch program. Just in case your breaking that 5mph speed limit (the flyer says 10). So safely first.. it was 20% full.. I told my buddy in chino valley about the place. He used to live in Camp Verde.... he laughed.. they had a family get together there a year ago. They all left early and made other arrangements also.. so if your at a time on your life where your up in everyone's business, need maxim security and are pretty much sedimentary this is the place for you....there are plenty of other places to go for us...😁😎

Verde River RV Resort is a hidden gem. The staff on site truly care about their campers and the resort. The facilities are immaculate, the amenities are plentiful. It is perfectly situated at the center of so many interesting places to see and things to do. We were on site for multiple months and enjoyed a handful of the activities they host. Sip & Paint is a fun way to spend an evening and meet fellow RV’ers and staff. There is a nice dog run, very pet friendly and direct access to walk along the Verde River. One of the best mini golf courses, clean laundry facilities, very adequate wifi & no issues with cell service for both Verizon & T-Mobile. The sites are level and offer a generous amount of space for elbow room. Check out their map for a variety of site options. Thank you Verde River RV Resort for one of our most memorable fall seasons!

If I could give this place NO STARS, I would. Starting from check-in by the very rude manager, with an extensive lecture about not walking on the precious, almost non-existant grass, mostly goat heads and crab grass in patches, to getting to your site, down a long horribly dusty road where you arrive at sites with unlevel pads (I dont mean just a little off-level) with major soft spots (my rear leverler jacks sank 10 inches even with 12x12x2 wood pads, and almost no room to park the toad if you have a 35' or larger rig. We had asked for a pull-through 3 times before arriving, because we are both handicapped, but were told there were none. But there was one right next to us our whole week, never rented. The very roughly "paved" roads in the newer area, where we were, with 21 other rigs in our group, (just rocks sprayed with oil) was near impossible to walk on even if able bodied, never mind if you're disabled like me. No walkers or canes were usable on the road and we were the farthest from the 2 club houses you could get on site!. The grass gestapo was out in force and watching our every move. Our wagon master was inundated with manager complaints. BTW, the "newly seeded grass" was done last October! Never watered according to the full timers there. State building inspectors will be notified of all ADA violations, well documented with plenty of photos. Too many to count! The RV pads were ringed with railroad ties, and 6" high grass edging held in place with steel rebar every 2 foot sticking out of the ground. I tripped over them just trying to get the rig set up & taken down. The potable water valve was sunk down into boxes under ground so you had to get on hands and knees to hook up to the water. I just used the holding tank water on the rig.The extremely rude manager, a red head, with a temper to match was constantly harassing the group for grass violations! We had to drive everywhere on site because it was impossible to walk to the office, rec room, bath house or laundry located at the entrance because it was on top of a 20 foot high hill by the entry road with no handicap access ramps to get there. The pool club house, was also on top of a 15 foot high hill at the way far end of the park from us, and inaccessible for several of our group because of far away parking, not a single handicap space & only a single entry, as one sidewalk was blocked from use because of being so steep, a number of guests had fallen trying to walk down to the parking lot. The only other side walk all the way at the other end of the building was also way to steep and too slopped also to one side, for anyone with mobility issues, like many of us seniors could not negotiate it with walkers or mobility chairs. We were never sent a map of our sites until the week of our arrival, too late to change our plans or sites. Worst layout of a RV park ever. Don't be fooled by the more expensive "river view" sites. There's NO RIVER to see! Our first choice of parks, Distant Drums, at the nearby casino is a much better park. They were full and couldn't accommodate our club. Also, a few more group comments: the wifi & internet is non-existent and the park's water system kept "going to sleep" @ note & the they couldn't figured out why ON EITHER. I used my rig's water & pump, and it tasted much better too! I used my phone's data & got wifi in the rig. There is NO late check-in. NO ONE on duty after 5pm. Too many issues to count! JUST DONT STAY HERE! You'll regret it if you spend your valuable camping $$ here! - Minus ☆☆☆☆☆! Their Rule #1 states "The customer is always right!" is not adhered too at all! Sadly, on day 1, I accidentally backed into one of their employees' cars in the way too small parking lot & didn't realize it. They took 2 days to tell me & wouldn't give me her name or cell number for 4 more days. We had to stay 2 more days to get it resolved for no good reason! Fire the RUDE manager, & that would be a good start @ the...

Disappointed that as long lasting repeat customers we were treated with such disregard & rudeness! Previously during our stay here (over 8 months) in our RV & renting Cabins we always paid on time, were clean, neat & quiet, zero problem Senior tenants & had a mostly nice experience! We put up with the dust & a couple of evacuations during the floods last year & were some of the few who actually returned afterwards. Oh & we voluntarily PAINTED WITH OUR OWN PAINT, NOT ONE, BUT 2 OF THE PICNIC TABLES (with permission), because they were old and splintery. Additionally, we never asked for a thing in return, not even credit or a refund for the days we had to go elsewhere during the mandatory evacuation. This time however was different! We commute between here & Alaska (our other home) since having bought acreage in the Verde Valley. We made a reservation over 3 weeks ago via a phone call with the office (Ellen). Side Note: at no time did we go online to make our reservation since we practically know the phone number by heart! So we usually just call. During the phone conversation with Ellen we made a full reservation for a Cabin rental for a week & at no time were we told that blankets, sheets AND towels would NOT be provided! Finally, after arriving & having driven nearly 4,000 miles, super excited to be back at Verde River RV, just grab a shower & get into bed, we go in our Cabin only to see that there are no sheets, blankets or pillows on the beds & none anywhere. Furthermore no towels or a single washcloth! And the bathroom bar of soap was open & soggy from the prior guest apparently! We could’ve worked around that no biggie but now it’s just like every little thing added up! Sooo we called the after hours line, thinking easy fix, slight mistake, & spoke with a gentleman named Gary & explained our situation but he wasn’t hearing it! First he said that they don’t provide linens or towels with the Pet friendly Cabin. Apparently because of something about dander or hair! Fine but our dog doesn’t have dander or shed he’s hypoallergenic (a poodle) & If this was the case why did they provide them before for a fee & why weren’t we told this over the phone BEFORE, DURING OR AFTER making & paying for the reservation? I asked him if this was coming via Manager Ellen as that was shocking & unknown to us! He said, yes he was calling her and she was giving him feedback to give to us! The guy kept saying “it’s on the website” blah blah blah! We explained that this was not the case because having stayed here before we knew that linens & towels were in fact “provided” but for an extra fee (which we paid). Also, we don’t use the website. We call every single time to make our Reservations! Anyways I asked him (Gary) to refer us to Ellen again thinking probably just a simple misunderstanding. He refused. Long story short after 4-5 phone calls to the after hours line begging for at least “A TOWEL” so we could take a shower, the guy said “when Ellen gets back on property she’ll bring you towels around 7:30 pm. I said okay & thanked him for his time! Finally towels and Linens arrived via Ellen plus a free mini lecture again about how Towels & Linens are NEVER provided! No apology, NOTHING! Geez whatever happened to apologizing, being customer oriented & just making it right instead of denying your wrong doing & with attitude? Was all of this necessary? We could have stayed anywhere but wanted to patronize our (now former) favorite RV Campground. Resort is a stretch! At resorts one is usually treated much nicer, has working nice amenities & with at least a little more class than this mess! They are definitely not appreciative of business let alone “repeat” business. How disappointing! Not sure if we will recommend this place again or ever...

Avoid at all costs if you are looking for an hospitable, reasonable, consistent, respectful and easygoing environment. Grounds are the most stunning in Camp Verde, but everything else doesn’t match. I don’t have words or time to share all the frustration that needs to be conveyed about this place’s staff demeanor and policies under current management. Need a favor while you stay or as you are leaving like holding mail (at no effort to them while the post office is having issues) or communicating about logistics? Don’t count on any hospitality or decency because they won’t help you - in fact, they will refuse legitimate and well-founded practical requests, even for somebody who was extended stay who invested and paid consistently for 8 months. The Extended Residents constantly complain about the main manager and staff demeanor. Expectations are not consistent from tenant to tenant, especially about how to keep the property. Part-time landscaping staff tell/tattle to the office about something out of place and before you know it, you are getting an email or text before you even had a few minutes to address it - sometimes, I didn’t even know something was out of place before I got a snappy message. Kind, good faith, advance communication is not honored or respected by the office staff - you either WON’T get a reply if they don’t want to deal with the question (especially regarding “favors”) - that happened often - or they will respond with a short “no” plus nonsense reasoning. Once they contacted me to “see how I was doing” and “check on the wellbeing of my animals and me” but all of that was false on its face as evident by the message that immediately followed and took me by shock: what they were really trying to do is find me (I was out of town) to deliver an eviction notice after MONTHS with zero issues, the last being a false accusation by one office worker of neighborhood stray cats being mine that I “intentionally let out,” according to them. I decided to stay longer than an initial prediction - with an extended lease - and they evicted me after months of zero issues because they wanted me out. I have also never stayed at a place where I hardly met anybody. Aside from a few conversations with extended residents, this is the only place I have stayed where people don’t regularly interact nicely with each other. As I was leaving the park, a customer was out in her phone taking pictures/videos of me pulling out. One night I was looking for my escaped pet and a neighbor called the police on me. Another day I wasn’t even out looking - it was the day after I looked - and the police showed up from a neighbor’s call
I HADN’T EVEN LEFT MY CAMPER THAT DAY. The last email received from them said I was “bothering residents” when I was asking a neighbor - a friend - if she would help me with holding a piece of important mail for Me after the office refused. It’s hard to even comprehend all of this. But I highly suggest avoiding Verde River RV Resort and Cottages at all costs; there are other places in Camp Verde, as I have now discovered, that provide you a place to stay AND are hospitable and reasonable. They are shocked by the true stories I have shared. I wish I didn’t have to write this; I wish the treatment, respect and hospitality were better, especially for extended - lease customers. Not under current leadership and ownership....
