Doves rest cabins — Hotel in Canyon

My wife and wanted a few days 'away from it all' and headed out to Dove' Rest Skyhouse from the DFW area. This was mud May and the weather was absolutely perfect. The Skyhouse Cabin was perfect. Clean, spacious, beautifully appointed with a well equipped Kitchen. Even a complimentary bottle of champaign (and sparking grape juice if we were tea totalers) in the fridge with souvenir glasses. But the best feature of this cabin is the view. The cabin sits on the west rim with a full view across the canyon. This is a view you just cannot get used to. We took all our meals out on the back porch or just sat and watched the moonrise over the canyon. The large hot tub was a huge plus after an active day where you can relax under the stats. If you need supplies, or want to go out for a nice dinner, Canyon is 10 minutes away and Amarillo is 20 minutes. This is perfect place to get away. We will...

I highly recommend the Maverick had a beautiful view with active life all around. Mr. King Lizard(I'm guessing male)sits all day on his rock and will not move. You are on his land! I have also circled the small cactus for pet owners to beware when you first let the dogs out. I also had to keep close guard on my small chihuahua as hawks are around and got super close when I had her in my arms. Deer will cross the street all casually and dont seem scared that we had to stop and wait.I was so entertained! I needed this reset to just stop and be one with nature.

Amazing and Exceptional! We stayed at the coyote cabin. It was rustic western modernly decorated, super clean and had everything we needed! Our dog was welcomed on property. We have stayed in hotels and VRBO’s all over the world and this is/was right at the top with the best of them! The kitchen is fully stocked with anything you would need to cook with. The sheets, pillows , bedding and towels are soft and comfortable. They even use Charmin TP instead of that thin cheap stuff hotels use! It’s the little things that make this an exceptional stay! We also had wild pigs visiting! We highly recommend and will make it a habit to stay here on our frequent trips through Texas!
