Our room was a little underwhelming but the view, location and service (front desk) made up for it. But here’s the thing - the accommodations are privately owned so some units are slightly more updated than others. I’m not sure how the logistics work, but the units are owned as private condos and the owners can rent them out through the resort. We stayed in the 2 bedroom ocean view suite and the view was incredible. Our room was dated but nothing horrible. It was very clean and tidy, the kitchen was well stocked and we had two floors, 3 bathrooms and it was very spacious. The unit also included a stacked washer and dryer which was convenient. Each room had comfy bathrobes and beach towels were provided as well. We didn’t use too many of the amenities but we did use the pickleball courts which was a lot of fun and the sports complex area seemed to be well kept up. There was also a small gym, tennis courts, and I think I saw bocce ball as well. There was also a small bar/restaurant area to grab drinks and eat in the sports complex area. My only real complaint is that we didn’t receive any housekeeping service during our stay so maybe we needed to specifically ask for someone to stop by, I’m not sure. But since we were only there 3 nights it wasn’t a big deal.
If you are considering having a wedding here, they really did a fantastic job. The ceremony took place overlooking the ocean, followed by a cocktail hour while the bride and groom took pictures. That was followed by dinner with tables set up outside - again, the view👌🏻After dinner we had about an hour break to change into something more casual and then the resort set up 4 bonfires (large wood fire pits) with a circle of chairs around each, along with an open bar, a “bar” that included coffee, tea and hot chocolate, and everything we needed to make s’mores. They also had a buffet table with burgers (sliders), french fries and onion rings in case anyone had the munchies. All of it flowed beautifully and was so low key and fun. The guests all loved it. In addition, the wedding coordinator was amazing, and the ceremony was beautiful.
The resort seems to frequently have 30% off deals so if you can snag that, I would say book it, however I’m not sure it’s worth it at full price. But there are many amenities we didn’t use, so maybe if you factor those in it may be...
Read moreMaybe it was just bad luck for us, but the experience was not great for what we paid. Stayed for 2 nights to celebrate an anniversary. I booked a 1 bedroom suite but they gave us a 2 bedroom which was nice, but it felt like a nice timeshare rather than a resort. The rooms and furniture were ok, but the bedrooms needed updating. Maybe we just had a string of unfortunate things, but multiple things soured the experience: Upon check in, the front desk person was very cold. No smiles and barely a greeting. I had to ask for directions to our suite. When we went to the room (had to drive as it was farther away from the front desk), the keys did not work. Had to call the front desk who claimed it was the reader, but it ended up being the keys. Needed a replacement to be brought to us while we were waiting outside. No apologies. No air conditioning in the room, just a heater. Surprising for a nice place to not have air conditioning. Not a huge problem as it was not too hot Our booking included breakfast x2, but we were not told that they stop seating at 10 AM. We showed up the second day at 10 and the hostess said they were closing but would reopen at 11. We asked if we could get breakfast at 11 and she said yes, but this was not true and they only served lunch. We could have gone somewhere else if she had given us the correct information instead of waiting which was disappointing. We had dinner in their restaurant one night - the hostess seated us facing the sun which was setting and we had to ask to move. Her expression was very flat (no smiles) and when she said ok to us moving, it wasn't like she re-seated us (bringing the water or menus), she just walked away leaving us to move our stuff. Luckily the waitress was nice. Parking was not always available. The first day it was hard to find parking. I think maybe locals park there to go to the beach. There was no tag for parking so I don't think there is any monitoring to make sure spots are for resort guests only
Overall, for the price, it had more of a timeshare feel and many of the employees seemed like they hated their jobs. It is a shame because the location is beautiful, but the experience was not what we have experienced at other similarly...
Read moreOur friends booked a stay through Air bnb and invited us to come along for an adult weekend.|They booked room #11 with Kristina R. Upon arrival to the unit we read the house rules, one of which stated "no smoking" ok this is a standard rule in any place you go I feel, well my husband is a smoker so during our stay he stepped outside and away from the unit to have a smoke and after he was done he had put the cigarette butt in his pocket instead of throwing it out like alot of other disrespectful people would. When came back into the residence he placed the cigarette butt in the trash can thinking nothing of it because in his mind he did the respectable thing as a smoker.|After our friends check out they recieved a message from Kristina that the cleaners found cigarettes in the unit and it had an overwhelming smoke smell so she was going to have to cancel upcoming reservations and have a professional company come out to do smoke abatement in the unit.|She sent our friends a $1500 bill for the smoke abatement! And of course our friends told us we need to pay it since it was my husbands fault. My husband may have had smoke smell on his clothing but that's the only thing that could have caused a smell in the unit, AND this resort does beachside bonfires so anyone (smoke or not) could walk into the room with smoke smell on their clothing! This is outrageous! We have lost a friendship over this whole situation and $1500 over something that could have been resolved by washing bedding, because we were only in the unit to sleep! |I get that smoking is an unpleasant habit but my husband was as respectful as he could be with the knowledge he had about the property. This woman needs to update her "rules" on the website and make it clear that she does not allow anyone who smokes or is around any type of smoke period! Because you can smoke 3 counties over and still have that smell on your clothing. |This was the most awful vacation experience and we will...
