Stayed here quite a few times back in 2014-2016 and many times in my childhood... Recently booked a stay for a couple of nights with my girlfriend to go visit my lot in Caribou & do some hiking. I haven't been since 2016 so we were looking forward to staying here. I raved on & on about the indoor pool/hot tub.

Unfortunately I did not know they got rid of their star attraction which was the indoor heated pool/hot tub. I've read that they had a leaking pipe underneath the building that would have cost a lot to get fixed etc definitely a shame that they couldn't go through with it due to cost, time or inconvenience. We found out that It was completely filled in with cement & will never reopen. All this on the night before our trip we also found out the bar wouldn't be open when we went there.

The pool, hot tub, bar with restaurant were all right there. It was the perfect hotel package. It really is a shame. I hope they're renovations turn out well so they can get the bar open maybe down the road put a few hot tubs in. Maybe an outdoor pool? I can't imagine what they're going to put in that huge open courtyard area where the indoor pool was.

Though there is no information regarding the pool on their direct website almost every other site and all of their review pictures include that pool. I would almost advise them to put it in big bold letters on their website that the pool is permanently closed. Just so people know. Don't get me wrong either If a pool/hot tub is not your thing then by all means please stay here It's recently renovated & the rooms are nice.

The restaurant being right there & the bar to open again soon is very convenient for that area where there is literally nothing and you have to travel far just to get food / drink.

We decided to make this decision finding out 6 hours after free cancellation was up. We could not justify staying somewhere for that price without any of the extra amenities when there was a place cheaper down the street that at least has a jet tub in the room also closer to where we were going.

We booked through Expedia instead of direct. I was informed of a $201 cancellation fee even though it was only a few hours after their 24-hour limit. I was in contact with Expedia as was my girlfriend & I did contact the employee at the front desk, Jesse, to inquire about the pool/bar. Unfortunately I was calling him back a few minutes later asking him for help with the fee.

Let me tell you this Jesse is awesome!!! He was very accommodating & he sounds like a great employee!! I've read other reviews on here stating the same. He did everything he could to get rid of the fee & in the end waved it as long as Expedia was willing to wave it as well for that I will leave a positive review for this place. I wish them luck in the future & I hope to stay there again someday. Thank you Jesse for all your help. You really helped avert a complete disaster & in a way...

We come up North once a year to visit friends I have stayed at this location 2 times before and was not impressed - looking again for a place to stay I was told the hotel had been remodeled - I called and booked my room with the promise renovation were complete on all rooms so I was anxious to see the changes - as we drove up to entrance of hotel it was blocked with 2 large pallets of supplies so my husband parked as I walked in - the front is all glass but glass was filthy with construction dust - I also could see into managers office which was piled with boxes - no flowers, lights or decorations to make the front entrance appealing - when I walked in the lobby I was surprised it is beautiful so I thought well they are just not finished with renovations outside - I was greeted nicely given key to our room and instructed how to get to my room - as we drove around building construction material is piles everywhere - we found our entrance entered a secured door walked down a beautiful hall turn corner to head to our room carpet in hallway has not been replaced no trim on baseboard - we opened our room door wow beautiful inside - we found a few problems: windows covered in construction dust, bathroom door is almost touching toilet and shower glass door really strange small it folds in half but not large enough to protect floor from water that splashes out, pillows too large and plump so head laid crooked minor problem - the next day at 9:15 a sander began grinding it shook the desk I was sitting at as I apply my make up - the grinding continued until I left to check out at 10:30 - as I turned in my key I asked to speak to Manager - I informed her about noise and asked don’t u have one wing complete she said yes I suggested no room should be assigned in construction area she agreed and apologized-I also suggested windows to be washed at entrance and our room and pallets removed to make hotel more presentable as you drive up / she seemed to lose interest in my suggestion so I left - after reading passed reviews I don’t think they are even reading the reviews so...

8-2024- Revisit after 8 months: **. After 24 years/1224 night stays at this location, . .. (thou no longer traveling to this area on a regular basis…)….. Yes, time came for a major undertaking of renovations w/new owners. .. BUT.. thankfully the doors are open through it all.

“We” recently enjoyed a nice fall weekend in a newly renovated suite. Was able to see the other individual rooms were renovated in the same manner. Like the smell of a new car, that fades in time, so will that be with the renovations. It is to be expected and was not an issue. Obliging and welcoming the ongoing updates is the least one can do. Dining room/service & food, as in past years, was found to still be a very satisfying experience. Bed was very comfortable, though one can’t expect, with so many manufacturers options for pillows, that individuals won’t always find “it” will duplicate “yours”… definitely won’t/can’t satisfy all. Bathroom was very nicely remodeled. New “style” incorporated w/some items as w/the walk-in shower. It was very well illuminated. “Jesse”, on reception desk, great to see him back. A plus to the facility. All staff, old/new, are more than willing to assist you. Yes, update of info on the web for amenities available still need updating. (inquired about, finding out it is a work in progress)… One has the right to be upset to not find existing or told what had been available is no longer. Out w/the old, in with the new. No doubt, until the finality of the burdensome redo, there are to some unsightly areas w/work in progress taking place. * (signs are posted apologizing for the inconvenience)* With all due respect, for one to overlook worksites, realizing the necessity for the appearance, it will be a comfortable place one will appreciate and enjoy staying at. I will not hesitate to make it another get away in the...

I've stayed at worse but paid a lot less for it. This place has great potential to be pretty amazing but it was kind of hard to see given the amount of renovation going on at the time of our stay. Given so much of the inn is under construction it was pretty quiet which was nice. Currently there's no bar but I suspect when it's done it will be really nice. The restaurant itself is small but adequate and the staff is friendly. One really nice amenity is a full fitness center that can rival practically any professional gym. There's an indoor courtyard but currently being used as a staging area for the construction. The function room in large enough for moderately sized events.

This inn and convention center is fine for what it has set out to accomplish. This all-in-one place has an inn, restaurant, bar and lounge, fitness center, convention center, and indoor pool. Granted, the establishment is a little like waking into the 80s with its old-fashioned, but homely, decor. Don’t get me wrong. It’s quite nice and cozy. The best part of this place, in my opinion, is the fitness center. The fitness center boasts 3 rooms to get your workout in. There’s a weight room, a cardio room complete with treadmills and indoor bikes, and a free room with yoga mats and other miscellaneous workout material.

They’re going through a renovation as a Best Western through the end of the year and they’ve done a great job! The lobby is lovely, cozy, and welcoming. The new meeting and banquet spaces look fantastic so far, and there’s a new bar as well (though it feels a little hidden). They’ve upgraded the fitness room and there’s even a Peloton there! We stayed here unexpectedly and didn’t have much in the way of expectations but even the snags we did hit were taken care of immediately and the staff was welcoming, gracious, and thoughtful.
