This place was great during a 3 night / 4 day stay. I was just getting into town from Las Vegas after driving 5 hours. I called the front desk requesting an early check in. The woman who answered was very friendly and was able to accommodate an early check in for me (usually it’s 4pm, I checked in 1:30pm). I really appreciated that after driving all morning.

The Lobby was clean and well stocked with a coffee pot and hot water for tea. When I brought it to their attention the hot water was a little cold, the ladies immediately went into action changing it out. The woman who allowed my early check in actually went into the kitchen to remake my tea. She didn’t have to buy definitely went above and beyond.

The room was spacious with a kitchenette, 2 beds, a curtain to separate the sleeping area from the living area. Pull out sofa was also inside the room although it didn’t get used. You can request a plug in stove burner to cook food if you’d like. The portable stove comes with 2 pans for use, you just sign one out at the front desk. That was a huge help to be able to cook in the room.

I utilized the gym a couple times during my stay and it was nice and clean each time. As you can see in the photos the gym has all your basic cardio needs and dumbbells. They also have a water machine filled with ice cold water to refresh after your workout.

The hotel offers daily breakfast and a complimentary happy hour (2 free drinks). I joined this only the first night and it was outside at the time. The staff was barbecuing and serving drinks for memorial week / weekend. The event consisted of hot dogs, burgers, chips, potato salad and a couple other things. Free food and drinks what a great way to take care of the guests.

The complimentary breakfast had waffles, eggs, brand name wrapped breakfast sandwiches, cereal, bagels, toast, muffins, oat meal, sausage or bacon. Plenty of options and a special breakfast area to sit. Arrive at a good time to be able to enjoy all of the breakfast they have to offer. I saw numerous guests coming 5 min before close asking the woman to make more bacon etc. Breakfast is 3 hours long, so don’t come at the last minute while the staff is cleaning up asking them to make more food.

The pool and jacuzzi were nice and clean open late hours huge plus!!+

The hotel is very close to Lego Land (7min) 5-10 from Carlsbad state beach, depending on where you want to park and walk, not so close to restaurants but more so cafe / fast food. The hotel is in a quiet business area, in a parking lot by itself. Plenty of parking and entry doors.

The only issue I had while staying was the guests above my room. The hotel is family friendly which is great, however upstairs sounded like kids were doing backflips. At 5-6AM for a couple hours. It was the loudest I’ve ever heard guests above me. I didn’t want to go through the trouble of switching rooms the last night we were there, so I just stuck it out and dealt with it. If i were to visit again, I’d just request the highest floor so I won’t have to worry about anyone above me again. I’m sure the hotel would’ve moved me if I requested it.

Thanks for the fantastic stay from my son and I! Would definitely...

I was in a wedding this past weekend locally and I needed a place to stay for the night. I called the hotel at 8am the check in day (the same day as the wedding) and spoke to Wendy at the front desk. Another person of the wedding party had checked in to this hotel the day prior and they wouldn't let her check in until 4pm. The wedding started at 4:30, I was in the wedding, and a 4pm check in was not going to work. Wendy said she would "try" to get us checked in as early as possible but "no guarantees". My husband sat in the lobby starting at 1pm trying to check in and Wendy said that there would be absolutely no early check in. The sign mounted on the wall behind the front desk says "Check Out: 12pm Check In: 3pm". My Husband eventually had to abandon trying to check in and left the hotel around 3:30 to make it to the wedding venue on time. He went back at 1am to check into our room only to be notified by the front desk person that there would be a scheduled fire alarm test at 9am Sunday morning. After going back to pick me up we got back to the hotel at 2am and had to lug all our stuff upstairs after partying all night which took us 2 trips back and forth because they had no luggage cart available. Only to be woken up by the fire alarm going off in the 9am hour. And it was not just a "one and done" fire alarm check. The alarm was going off consistently until we left at 11:15am. And then to put the cherry on top, there was an employee entering EVERY SINGLE ROOM and setting off EVERY SINGLE FIRE ALARM in the hotel while I was trying to shower and get dressed to be able to leave the hotel. WHO IN THE HECK SCHEDULES A FIRE ALARM TEST IN A FULLY OCCUPIED HOTEL AT 9AM ON A SUNDAY MORNING AFTER GUESTS SPENT THEIR SATURDAY EVENING ENJOYING THEMSELVES?! Why not schedule the fire alarm test on a weekday between the hours of 12pm and 3pm when occupancy is at it's lowest and people arn't trying to sleep?! After confronting Wendy at the lobby desk on our way out (screaming over the fire alarm) she said that her Manager Kevin is in charge of that. And where was Kevin you might ask? At his home, enjoying the peace and quiet, resting. After our experience at Home2Suites, they should have been PAYING ME TO STAY AT THAT HOTEL! And no dollar amount would make that experience worth it. ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE! FIRE MANAGER KEVIN FOR SCHEDULING THAT FIRE ALARM TEST AT THE WORST POSSIBLE DAY AND TIME! And if check in is 4pm then UPDATE YOUR SIGN behind the front desk! Also, THIS FIRE ALARM TEST SHOULD HAVE BEEN DISCLOSED TO EVERY SINGLE GUEST IN THE HOTEL PRIOR WITH AMPLE TIME TO CANCEL RESERVATIONS AND FIND ALTERNATE ACCOMMODATIONS! You ROBBED US and provided us an experience that we would have NEVER HAD SIGNED UP FOR! DISGRACEFUL! WE WILL NEVER STAY AT A...

We had a stay of 4 nights visiting from Hawaii for a short impromptu vacation. We were able to drop-off our luggage with no issues early in the morning with Wendy, who was gracious and accommodating to arrange our rooms to be ready for check-in later in the day.

When we came back to Check-In, Arthur helped us with our two rooms and accommodated our multiple bookings efficiently as well as retrieving our luggages we dropped off earlier.

The ADA accessible room with 2 queen beds was enormous! Extremely clean and very spacious to accommodate my friend and her family of 3. We had another room, but a studio with one king bed, and that was more than enough room to accommodate the two of us. WIFI connection, TV stream, hot water, full size fridge and kitchenette. All were great amenities. LOVE the blackout curtains. Literally the best sleep I’ve gotten in years. The only complaint if I have to say something is the elevator and the footsteps I can hear from above. I was on level 2. The elevator is super sketch, but I’m assuming that it’s a hydraulic type so that’s why it made all those sounds and vibrations every time. Not a bother though to hinder me from coming back.

The breakfast provided changed everyday (mainly the protein: switching between Canadian bacon, bacon, breakfast sausage) was a decent spread for a complimentary breakfast especially on days we had a full itinerary! Waffle, Boiled Eggs, scrambled eggs, oatmeal, yogurt, breakfast sandwiches, cereal, fresh fruits and variety of juices from the dispenser. The workers replenishing the line were working hard to make sure they were filling up things as necessary.

We didn’t utilize the pool, jacuzzi, bbq, or mini-putt, but from what I heard from other guests, they were very pleased with the extra amenities. Coffee, Hot water, and Tea were always ready 24/7 to be dispensed in the lobby which was a very nice touch.

Fitness room was great, quick workout was squeezed in with a good amount of free weights and one cable machine.

Free parking, close to the freeway, outlet mall, legoland, and a bunch of restaurants. Thought staying in Carlsbad was far from everything, but the drive into downtown and Orange County wasn’t too bad.

Thank you Arthur for helping us make our stay enjoyable and for the entire staff for making this place our next go-to if we ever come back to SD! Aloha...
