Very impressive for a little hotel in the middle of the desert. First thing you'll see is the pool, or should I call it a waterpark? The second thing you'll notice is the ample sized parking lot. You'll be able to park right by your room. Next up you're checking in. Our dude was totally cool and helpful. He even gave me a tip for how to turn the lights on (I couldn't figure it out for all 4 of them). Your room - will be great. High end veneer flooring and LARGE rooms. Bathroom, a bit small, but functional. Actually that brings me to my next point of appreciation for this place. On our first morning there I clogged up the toilet really bad. I thought it would flush but no. I figured no big deal half the time I can get it to go down if I wait and do another flush or 2. I was waiting for the water to stop flowing into the basin before any of that and the water (which was brown btw) just kept rising. Why wasn't the water stopping? The water always stops before it gets to the top! Then niagra falls happened. The water kept going until I came out of shock to remember that I could shut off the water valve to the toilet! At this point I was standing outside of the bathroom because the water in the bathroom was at least 5mm deep all around and I had thrown down towels to damn up the door so it would be confined to the bathroom. I leaned into the bathroom to shut off the water valve. Dang toilet still flowed for like 5 seconds after that though! After a few minutes when the water in the basin had receded back down, I turned the valve back on and tried a second flush, knowing that I could preemptively shut off the water flow to the toilet if need be. And wouldn't you know it? The second flush worked. Now we were just left with the aftermath of the brown flood. I didn't have enough towels so I went over to the front desk. New guy this time. Told him our bathroom flooded and I needed some towels. Absolute bro gave me 4 towels. Cleaned up the mess the best we could and even sanitized the floor. Oh, and you'll get a fridge (with freezer) and microwave in your room. So very good with that. We're trying to eat healthy so we just microwaved food in our room. Then we checked out a day later. Had a great time. Good sights, good skies, good people, good hotel. Thank you White's City Cavern Inn, I couldn't have done this...

The wife and I are from PA. I am 60 and Partially Disabled the wife is 56 also w/ mobility issues. We did a Bucket List vacation to a few select New Mexico destinations. The Motel might have informed us that the type of room we selected was on the second floor. Stairs, no Elevator. The room itself was fine. And we went down to get the 'continental' breakfast. Cold cereal questionable milk, bag muffin was ok. Reception was on the cold side, and maybe the I'm large Hispanic family with all the unruly children were their relatives? For they also took over the pool area as well, For long periods of time. The entire place there is Owned by one conglomerate, the gas station, the 'store', souvenir shops, and the restaurant, which we got up and walked out of, when the manager informed us our meals would be a good half-hour because of a large dinner party, of 5 people were being attended. No thank you. Bye. Looking back, we should have and will when we return next year, get a Motel in Carlsbad, NM. Being close to the Carlsbad Caverns was not the pleasant experience we had hoped for. ALSO, I asked for a refund for 1 night because I was having Health issues, and had gotten the vacation insurance, and was told that it was no problem, we had booked 6 days, but the A/C in room was really struggling to keep the room at 70° even, and it was very uncomfortable. I mentioned this to the manager, with no transfer to another room possible, although, there were Many room available. No, We cannot recommend this Motel to anybody looking to visit the Carlsbad Caverns. Stay in Carlsbad, the drive isn't bad, only 15-20 minutes and you get to see the surrounding desert & mountains. And you will be in a proper town with a lot better amenities and restaurants, and you will feel better being in civilization. If for any reason you would need immediate medical assistance or anything. Nothing personal to the Proprietor of the Motel, this is the way they are happy running this place. Ps. Get satellite dish installed, so your paying customers can at least watch a few programs. The very few channels available are fuzzy and unentertaining at best. Yes, go stay in Carlsbad, you will...

This place is all about the water slides and pool area. If you have young children it’s a great place to stay. It’s super close to Carlsbad Caverns so you can zip up for a visit and then back down to enjoy the hotel’s water park. The hotel itself gets away with its higher pricing because of its location and the water park. It is an ok hotel. Very clean and the room we had was quite large. However there was no ice machine, iron or shampoo/conditioner, and the cooling system worked on and off. The television channels all came in fuzzy, and there were no electrical outlets near the bed stand. The beds were middle of the road comfortable. The whole town shuts down completely at 7pm, including the gas station store. The only restaurant in town closes at 3pm. So we had to drive to Carlsbad to grab food and toiletries twice. The water park is so special that I’d recommend the hotel for that alone. But if you aren’t interested in that part then definitely find a better hotel in Carlsbad.

To clarify (in response to the hotel's message), shampoo, conditioner and ice were all asked for and they did not have any shampoo or conditioner (said they could not find them), and the ice was needed around 8pm at which time the office was closed and locked. There was a note saying you had to call a number to talk to someone. I did not have my phone on me, and the fact that there is no ice machine available to the guests is really the problem. Same with the iron and ironing board. Requiring guests to go to the front office for every amenity is not a great way to run a hotel. However, if that is the business model, I would suggest putting a list in the rooms of everything that actually is available if you walk over to the building that houses the...

I am SOO happy we came across this place while driving into Carlsbad Caverns. Don't look anywhere else in the city, this is the place to stay for the best bang for your buck. First and foremost, they are PET FRIENDLY! No weight limit and just $10 per pet. You won't find any place in town that beats that. Sure, the Motel 6 there doesn't charge for them, but just look at their reviews... it's a rough one. The front desk running the place was extremely friendly and some of the best customer service we have encountered during our week-long road trip across New Mexico (Valerie?). She was able to snag us a great room the night of. She even called us back to give us a heads-up to grab some food first because nothing is near this place besides a little convenience store/gift shop that had already closed. This store is fun as well to check out FYI, cool stuff for the kids to see. Another plus is we were short on time the next day to check out Carlsbad Caverns first thing in the morning before our journey back home to Austin, TX. This place is literally walking distance to the entrance vs. the 20+ minute drive if we were to stay in town. So, we were able to get in and out of the Caverns that morning in time to come back and checkout. It was very quiet and safe in the area. The room was HUGE with two beds. They also have a large (somewhat) grass area for the doggos to do their business which has been hard to find in places. We would 100% stay here again.

Just stayed two nights while visiting the parks in the area. I specifically chose this hotel based on the restaurant next door and the hotel pool. Unfortunately neither were open when I was there. If the pool doesn't open until Memorial Day that needs to be noted specifically. I looked back and it's not on the website at all and the fromt desk attendant said "yeah, we have heard that a lot" when expressing my shock. The location is great for Carlsbad Caverns but if the restaurant is closed (Sunday/Monday) you will be in a tight spot. The "grocery" across the street closes at 6 I believe and only had your general gas station "dining" fare of microwavable items. Best bet is to drive to Carlsbad... Overall the rooms were pretty comfortable though the TV was barely watchable when working and the satellite went out completely while watching the NBA playoffs one night. Continental breakfast was packaged muffins, cereal and some fresh fruit. Coffee in the room barely made one cup but in the lobby you can get another small cup to go (granted one morning the coffeemaker was empty.) Overall, if I hadn't expected a pool and restaurant it's a fine place to stay. I just didn't get what I expected and would likely stay in Carlsbad next time as there are many new hotels on the south end of town.
