Very nice camp ground , spacious, so many great spots , beautiful views of Lake Carlyle . Camp hosts were very friendly and knowledgeable. So much to do hunting , biking , trails to walk , boating , water ski , swimming pool with small water park for smaller children. Camp store for supplies and breakfast is made on Saturday and Sunday morning . Bathhouses are clean and roomy , dumpsters are only a few steps away . Potable water spicket's are within walking distance of most camp sites . Just a short distance is Lake Carlyle dam and spillway with a walking path / bicycle path over looking the lake on one side and spillway on the other plenty of fishing everywhere . There are cottage houses single or double occupancy with private bedrooms and bath , fire pits and adriondac chairs on the balcony, nice scenic views of the lake , boats slips upon request . Play grounds in every camp site . A short drive away is a Mexican american restaurant an winery that serves wine , beer , liquor and lunch or dinner , a Walmart for forgotten items , gas stations , fast food , convenience stores , automotive parts O'Reilly or Napa . boat, jet ski, kayak, canoe rentals are also available nothing is...

We wanted to see the Arch but didn't want to stay near any cities. This park is about an hour from St Louis. We self checked in and found our site ok. The layout is cool. Each loop is on a hill top with valleys between. Lots of woods, trees for shade and some have a water view. Site 24 is maybe the best, we were at site 26 which was close to the water but our camper faced the other way. We found ourselves sitting next to the slide to get the best morning view. Unfortunately the host allowed tent Campers to take up 2 sites right next to us, even though there were designated areas for tent people. They had 7 adults and 4 kids in 5 tents. At one.point there were 5 cars and music playing for the entire evening. Fortunately they were quite at about 9:30 so we.coild sleep with the windows open. Anyway the site was level, driving in and backing In was easy. All in all a good weekend. The facilities on our side of the campgrounds were just vault toilets. No showers. We filled up with water on the way in and had 30 amp service...

We really enjoyed are stay at the Illini Campground at the Eldon Hazlet State Park. The campgrounds were very clean and well kept. Our site # 7 was on the A loop right adjacent to Lake Carlyle and offered beautiful views of the lake. The sunrise was spectacular. There is a nice camp store with swimming pool at the entrance to the campgrounds, a dump station with water fill and restrooms located through out the park. We had a nice, level gravel pad with a very spacious site, good clean power and a picnic table and fire ring. We had a great stay.

Update: We stayed again this time in site #8 right on the Lake. We were there early enough to ride our bikes around the park and enjoyed some of the trails. The sunrise was beautiful over...

A beautiful campground on a lake! There are hiking/biking trails, swimming, tent/RV camping & cottages you can rent out. The shower houses & bathrooms were all under construction when we went (4th of July week '23- think they could've planned better) so we used the showers and bathrooms at the pool ($5 ea & open to public as well) which wasn't always convenient as they are only open from 11-4:45 daily. Mishaps are what makes your vacations memorable though, so cheers!
