Cobblestone Inn & Suites - Carrington — Hotel in Carrington

In all the 20+ years of traveling I have never ever been charged $25 for a early check in fee when it was 40 minutes until the posted check in. Matter of fact I have checked into hotels 2 hours early and never been charged a early check in fee. Especially when it’s a regular guest that stays there all the time and the company utilizes the hotel as a preferred hotel. But today I was charged that early check in fee. Other then that the hotel is nice and clean. The bed and pillows isn’t an IHG brand hotel comfortable but are decent. There is parking for cars and trucks and plug-ins during the winter. The whole early check in fee got me though. To the point I’m making sure on my travels through I will try and minimize the nights I will stay at this particular hotel and just have some longer drives in the mornings to work locations. And I will make sure I make my work day coincide with the check in time so I can avoid that fee if I decided to return to the...

We attended a wedding in June. We reserved our rooms almost a year in advance. The rooms went way up in price for one thing. We were told due to the motel being full. We rented 3 rooms. Upon entering our room the garbages were not emptied. This makes me wonder if the room was cleaned and the TV did not work till the next day. Room two did not have a shower curtain, so did they finish cleaning this room?? The desk help did not help much. There was no elevator and our 83 year old mom had to go up stairs. We asked if she could be moved to main floor but no rooms were available. They said they could move her to the main floor the next night , but did not tell us it was going to cost an extra $80. They would not change it. The front door was also broken and would not open automatically. It took all you had to open it as the front desk person just watched you struggle. Awful experience. The Continental breakfast is a joke! I've never seen one so bad. They "ran out" of everything. We came down for breakfast at 8:30 and breakfast goes until 10. My wife and I had double queen beds in our room, one of the beds had yellow/brown stains all over the sheets and smelled wet, and the other bed was fine, clean and fresh. The AC unit leaked water all over the carpet in a half circle puddle by the window. The $25 fee to check in between 1:00p and 3:00p seems strange. I've never encountered that before. Also there's supposed to be a nice place across the road to get breakfast but they're closed Saturday...
