I wanted to write this review before I forgot.
PROS - âŞď¸Hotel seems nice, desk attendant was extremely pleasant/ friendly. âŞď¸Check-in simple enough. âŞď¸Bed appears to be super comfy, as do the pillows, and very clean & bright. âŞď¸ Bathroom seems clean, and the water is very hot.
*CONS - â˘bug/bugs in the room. â˘trash was left in the bedside nightstand, not gross, but it shouldn't be there. â˘Paper is in one of the light switches buttons - it shouldn't be there. â˘There are no USB plugs anywhere in this room, EXCEPT on the back of the TV, and that don't really charge the phone too quick. â˘The room phone is janky- I did try calling the front desk, they could not hear me..... they called my room back - still could not hear me, the line was static. â˘The room is small and cramps. I paid $180 for this room tonight, it's NOT a $180 room.
I paid $205 last night at the Hamilton in Emerson - worth every single penny, and then some, ( I wish I would had drive back there this evening, I was just trying to save time).
â Hindsight - when I pulled up tonight, and I saw all those people hanging out by the front doors smoking, I should have pulled on through....I even said to my husband, "what sort of hotel do people hang out by the doorways like that". His reply was, "usually not good ones, but it's raining and cold so - where are they gonna go to smoke? ".
Upon checking out the next morning, I was telling the front desk attendant, the pregnant one, about the room and the trash, and to ask the housekeepers to check the drawers for the next guest. She seemed to get upset that I said anything about the room in general. Then I told her, that I took pictures if she wanted to see, but I was going to give an honest review - she scoffed at me, but never offered no apology or anything of the sort. I will find a different hotel besides Fairfield. I may go back to...
Read moreWe stayed the night of July 5th and were VERY disappointed. As Bonvoy members we had high expectations for this property. Where should we start....the checkin: upon receiving a key we went to our room to find the door propped open with the safety latch. We peered in and once we realized no one was in there we went to check things out. There was a large puddle of water on the desk/tv stand area, the chair was pulled out in the middle of the room and a towel was randomly laying in the sink. We pulled our luggage back down to the front desk and explained the situation. A staff member went up to check on the room and came back and said it was "ok that housekeeping forgot to shut the door." (even though it was 8pm at night....!?). We went back up to the room to find everything still out of sorts. The front desk explained this was the last room they had so we had no choice but to keep it.
I'm a big fitness fanatic so I wanted to check out their gym before I used it the next morning. Upon looking in there (its minimal but that is to be expected so no big deal) there were NO cleaning supplies, NO workout/sweat towels, and NO air conditioning!! Even more concerning was this mess of a counter-top where a combination of trash and dirty towels were laying out! I went to the desk and explained that it needed some attention. Staff member assured me he would take care of it. *FAST FORWARD TO NEXT MORNING-the situation was worse!! (see pictures!)
Around 11pm on the night of our stay the fire alarm went off! TRUST THE REVIEWS! This apparently is a common occurrence for this property.
Mold on the shower curtains (this is an easy fix-just replace them!); stained towels; lack of a breakfast; and peak hours of the morning no staff was at front desk to help.
STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE!!! DO NO STAY HERE!!! TRUST ALL THE REVIEWS-I SHOULD HAVE HEEDED...
Read moreChecked in early to hopefully get our status requests (lifetime titanium). Unfortunately, for unknown reasons, hotel management did not take that into account when assigning rooms, and put us in a lower level room right next to the elevator and ice machine. Despite repeated requests to move to higher levels including when we knew they had check outs on the top floor, they were âunable to accommodate us.â Yes, we were there for a baseball tournament, as was a lot of the hotel, but we were willing to move part-way through our stay just so we didnât have to deal with early morning cooler fills next to our bed, or late night shenanigans upstairs. Everyone at the front desk was polite, but unable to do anything.
The room was OK. No hair dryer to be found. One of the disposable cups had been opened (eww!) The fridge was 50-50 on whether it cooled. The a/c was loud and erratic. Toilet only worked if you held down the handle. Room wasnât big. Beds and pillows werenât super comfy. First world problems? Yes. However, the staff does not take into account preferences when âassigningâ rooms. One staff member even said that âat this hotel you donât want to be on the top floor because itâs all baseball kids.â I explained that this was why we were here.
Bottom line, if you are a rewards member and hope that they accommodate your requests, think again. If you need a hotel for a tournament and there arenât other options, this one is OK, but there are probably others that are better. If you are stumbling in off of I-75, for a one night stay in a king bed, you will likely be treated like royalty, regardless of your status.
I hate to leave a less than glowing review, and if you look at my other reviews, youâll see that I try to give the benefit of the doubt, but after multiple days, Iâm leaving less...
