This is a cool place to camp. The slope down to the reservoir is too steep for regular camp sites so they built decks that extend over the forest on one side of the road. Each site has a deck of its own strong enough to hold an RV. We had a lakeside site and it was very charming to see the water through the trees from the cool timber deck by the trailer. Fire pits are on the ground by the road adjacent to the deck. Sites are spread out enough to feel private and mostly shaded. Bathhouses are nice enough and clean enough. Water and 30amp at each site. TN provides free WIFI at State Parks so we had some access although it wasn’t strong at our site. Occasionally we’d get a blip of Verizon but not enough to really count on. We walked a trail from the campground to the marina which appeared seldom used but was nice but with Poison Ivy all over. Marina has a nice grassy park area and some Verizon service. Overall a nice place to spend a...

First time visiting and staying at the state park. Clean bathrooms, clearly marked signs throughout the park, and solid platforms for your tent or camper. We enjoyed staying here and will again. Boat ramps and marina available too.

Make sure to check the website photos of the campsite you pick so you know if it has a dip or a ramp for that platform as it may matter for your rig or setup. Only a few were steep either way. I liked the platform setup more than I thought I would. Better than the standard TN state park gravel pad. Except for the back country sites each has power and water hook up. The park also sells wood and ice at a central spot with dumpsters as well. They also have a gift shop with a small tower to climb for a view of the dam. At least two playgrounds for kids too. Many walking trails to explore and a small cemetery you can walk to. Go visit....

We had a great stay @ EESP. We originally booked it because of the elevated decks that serve as camp sites. Every spot on the water had a great view in my opinion. There is a lot of tree coverage to keep you cool in the summer. Lots of things to see and do in and out of the park, IF, you're into fishing, swimming, kayaking etc. Other than that, it's pretty remote. i was disappointed in the cell coverage by Verizon, but that doesn't reflect on the park itself. I do however, wish they could strengthen their wifi signal at the waterfront sites. I know it's camping but i work remotely and need to keep in touch with the outside world when we travel. I do recommend a stay at EESP if you're looking to get...
