Me and my friends when up for the 4th and the first two night were great had an amazing time felt safe. The last night we were all in the hot tube and all of a sudden we got uncomfortable and felt as if someone was watching us and no one of the group denied that something wasn’t there. We all felt uneasy, the last night of our trip we all went out to our hot tub and none of us felt safe me and one of my friends saw something from the outside corner of our cabin that we haven’t seen before. It was as if someone was looking at us. Note the fact that there we strange light from a distance and some would even be pointed at us. As the night goes on we all go inside because we couldn’t take it anymore and ran inside. Going to the bathroom to hang we kept hearing faint knocks and soft bangs. When suddenly I get a call from my parents who are just up stairs and they ask us what is the noise coming from but we were asking the same question. None of knew where that noice came from. Around 2 am I am still awake and me other friend who was also awake get ups almost at the same to the weirdest noise. It sounded as if someone in the room was walking back and forth on a thin plastic bag. At some point in time it faded but you could still hear it and the noise cam back, but now as if it was outside moving from one place to another. Me and my friend stay calm and wake up the others we are all awake except one which isn’t a big deal. One friend having 911 on speed dial and the other two calling my parents from upstairs. It felt like someone was watching us. I was the last one to fall asleep. Around 6 am we wake up and describe how we all felt during the trip. First night we were all fine and even left the back door open (I think back and realized how bad of an idea that was if someone was actually watching us). Second night still fine kinda weird energy but didn’t think anything of it. Third night worst of them all everyone in that cabin described that night as if 50 people were watching us from outside. From seeing a human like figure in the corner from the outside of the cabin to the weird and very strange noises. Coming back my sister and mom were talking and my mom hypothesized what could it have been. She said we might have been watched and each night they or one person kept getting closer to us and I wonder “if” it was a person what would’ve happened if we stayed one more night or the night we didn’t shut the door. Mind you tamarack has no security cameras or anything like that, so really advise you if you are going there to really pay attention to your surroundings because we all felt like we were...
Read moreTravelling through western Idaho on a beer tour in support of my beer blog, I had the opportunity to see and experience many things I don’t get at home. I live in the coastal plains so I don’t get to see mountains unless I travel. Well, West Central Idaho has plenty of mountains and a resort I stayed at and liked is the Tamarack Resort and its Lodge at Osprey Meadows.
With Tamarack, you get an assortment of lodging options such as cottages, townhouses, and more. I stayed at the lodge and I liked it from the moment I set foot in the lobby. The leather furniture in the lobby, fireplace, wood, and other features make you feel right at home and this home- like feeling continues when you interact with the lodge personnel, all of whom seem anxious to make your visit the best it can be.
Starting with the rooms, they are quiet and once again, have a lodge- like feel, as one would expect. At the same time, they are modernized so don’t worry about finding places to plug in your electronics. They have everything you need to keep in touch with the outside world, if you so choose. And they are offered in hotel unit, studio, 1 bedroom, 2 bedroom, and 3 bedroom units.
Outside of the rooms is where you will want to be, however, starting with a walk onto the lobby balcony where you can gaze at the mountains in the distance. Depending on the season, you may also choose to go skiing, snowboarding, hiking, etc. And if you would rather stay right next to the resort, there is an outdoor pool, two hot tubs, fitness center, library, spa, and other extras.
Tamarack resort is currently under construction and because of this, it doesn’t have as much to offer as it soon will. Once completed, this area will be like a small village complete with its own shops, stores, restaurants, and other attractions. But even without the village completed, Tamarack’s Lodge at Osprey Meadows is still a very cool place to stay. The calm, peaceful atmosphere, mountain views, and attentive customer service make this resort a great place for a getaway right here in west central Idaho, about 2 hours...

Activities:
It felt like my visit to Tamarack Resort came about 1-2 years too early. Construction had a large portion of the resort including two restaurants inaccessible, with only the coffee shop and grocery store open for business. There wasn't a lot going on and it was very empty of people, so we opted for exploring the surrounding towns and forest instead. (3/5)
The room:
We stayed in a room at the Lodge and walked in to dirty stained carpets in a poorly lit room. Not a good first impression.
I also got to experience some of the worst nights sleep I have endured. I have been more comfortable on a hide-a-bed couch. The mattress was rock hard with flat, worn-out pillows with zero head or neck support. I tossed and turned and woke up sore each morning. I have stayed at much cheaper locations and had a much higher level of comfort. It is not a good sign to dread going to bed each night because you know what you'll be sleeping on. This area could use extreme improvement. (1/5)
The food: As the only area we could find open was the bar/grill attached to the main lobby this is the only area where I can fairly assess. We each had a drink, and a burger which were adequate, if a little unexciting for the price. Definitely worth it to drive into McCall to try 'My Father's Place' instead. The service was great however, and we left happy. (4/5)
The staff:
The staff was friendly, helpful and eager to assist with anything we needed. They also did the best they could with safety precautions for guests. (5/5)
McCall Idaho and the surrounding area are unbelievably gorgeous and worth exploring as much as possible. Get away from the resort, and go explore the Ponderosa State Park, go to Icecream Alley, or go hike around Brundage...
