If I could give a 100 stars I would. First off, Mike and Julie are the nicest people you will ever meet. There’s also Miss. Nelley (their dog) who is the best dog I’ve ever seen. My husband and I recently eloped there(Nov 2018). From day one Julie was always easy to reach and talk to. She handled everything! She made the entire process easy. She had the officiant and photographer ready for me. She got me a beautiful bouquet and her husband made us a not only gorgeous but delicious cake for after the ceremony. They let us use the living room for the ceremony which we are so appreciative of. They make the most beautiful and filling breakfast. The entire place is immaculate. I’ve never stayed somewhere cleaner. The rooms and whole Inn is beautifully designed and decorated. It’s modern and yet country. It feels like you’re going home to visit your parents or family. They use the best quality sheets and robes. I was scared that I wouldn’t sleep well being that it wasn’t my bed etc but It was probably the best nights of sleep I had gotten in a very long time. Everyone there, even the other guests are just so friendly and welcoming. It is super safe and peaceful in and around the Inn. They even let my daughter decorate their Christmas tree with them, which made her night. Their hospitality is just out of this world. They also let you purchase mugs, ornaments, honey products etc (Julie is incredibly knowledgeable on bees! Ask her!!) They are super reasonable priced and for what you get and stay in you would think it would be way more in cost. We can’t wait to go back in a few months and stay again. We’ve already said this will be our only place to stay when we visit in Vermont each year. A super big thank you to Mike and Julie for all that they did to give us the most amazing wedding and time with our friends...
Read moreWe really enjoyed our stay at the Golden Stage Inn. Innkeepers Julie and Mike, were warm and personable. They were very attentive to our needs and made us feel very welcomed into their attractive home. We just really like them!||They have a very comfortable living area perfect for relaxing, reading, playing cards, games or just chatting with other guests. That is one of the reasons why I love the B&B experience. You can meet such interesting people along the way.||Our room was on the cozy size and we were ok with that but if you need a big bedroom you might want to explore their options. The place is kept very clean! ||I am an early riser and one of the things I super appreciated is that they had delicious coffee available at 6am. I'd grab my cup, sit in the living room, and let my day unfold. | I do have to report that wi-fi can be a little sketchy at times. ||And then of course there is breakfast. We had a three course breakfast that was very good. One option they offer if you are not in the mood for anything fancy, they will make an egg breakfast to your liking which I took them up on one morning. Everything tasted fresh and delicious.||Their location, Proctorsville, is a very small town so don't expect to see much. We used it as a base to explore other parts of Vermont within a 30 mile or so drive. And unlike most places, just driving through beautiful Vermont is like driving through a little bit of...
Read moreA friend and I stopped here on our way through Vermont on a road trip, and it ended up being our favorite B&B by far for the week we were on the road. The inn is in a quiet part of the countryside but a quick drive to some small towns to poke around in, and the exterior is perfectly lovely - lots of places to sit and take it in, lots of flowers and big, old trees and comfy chairs. Our room was private and very comfortable, but I'm always on the lookout for a good tub to soak in after a long day and the deep whirlpool tub in the Otis room was exactly the thing for me. I've stayed in a handful of B&Bs, and plenty of them were lovely houses with great views and fluffy beds, but I always fall in love with the ones with good hosts, and that's where the Golden Stage Inn earns all 5 stars. Mike and Julie were immediately warm and instantly likable, and managed to strike that perfect balance between being engaging and friendly without being overwhelming. It makes such a difference when you truly feel welcomed and at home when you visit a B&B because it's more personal than a hotel, and this couple really know how to do it right! Also, the food was fantastic, so for me this place with the...
