My second time visiting here and again poor experience. Hash Browns were made the night before, cold and hard. Owner is a grumpy unfriendly man who always looks pissed off and should find another job if he doesn't like what he does. The food is not impressive at all, the atmosphere is excellent that's about it. Be warned he adds a 30% tip in if you have a large group and adds it on top of the apple pies you take to go. There is nothing special about this place except its atmosphere and charm, the service and food are below standard. UPDATE: Thank you for your response and I'm glad to see that you read your reviews and take the time to reply. Thank you for correcting me on the server not being an owner. I also agree with you that the fresh fruit and whip cream is a nice touch and the bacon was excellent. However, you are not addressing the fact that your server did charge me 30% tip and also added this tip on top of the apple pie I took to go. You are charging a lot of money for your meals and $28 for a pie plus 30% tip is really excessive. Costco sells excellent Apple Pies for $9.99. I also forgot to state that when I tried to pay by credit card I was told the machine was broken and I could drive down the road to an ATM. I get that you pay fees for CC use but I don't believe the machine was broken and you should tell patrons at the time of check in they need to pay in cash, or call the credit cards in via phone for people who don't have cash or ATM access. In regards to your potatoes your right, I don't know if they were made the night before, but i was the first one in the restaurant at 8am and they were very cold and were surely not just made. My omelette was also burned and blackened. Again, for the prices you are charging I would have expected a much better experience than I received. I also see other reviews on Yelp saying the same thing that they were told CC machine was broken and they were tricked into paying a 48% tip, MULTIPLE REVIEWS sharing the same experience. You obviously have a server who is scamming your customers and targeting people who are leaving and not coming back. He hid the tip in my bill and inflated the tax as well and tried to trick me into paying even more. So instead of defending your business you should be looking into this server and how he treats...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe poster Deb below is right. 1 pie is 48$ which is absolutely insane especially for a place that doesnāt have their prices anywhere. 2 pies and a slice of pie 104$ (EDIT* total was actually 114$ because we paid with a debit card). For this place to get on and tell commenters that they āmust have gotten moreā because one pie āisnāt 50$ā when they know theyāre charging 50$ a pie is weird? Own the price and take the 2 stars or lower the prices?
These pies are equivalent to what you would find at a cute side of the road farm stand (EDIT BECAUSE THIS COMMENT WAS MISCONSTRUED* equivalent meaning thereās nothing spectacular that sets YOUR PIES apart from the cute roadside homemade pies that cost 25-35$, in fact we frequent one in a surrounding state every year!) that are selling for 25$ so just do yourselves a favor and go find one of those!
On a better note, the setup they have is super cute š«¶š¼
EDIT: I am taking 1 star away for the nasty gram I got back. Yes you have a video of yourself spewing the prices and my family and I buying the pies. Why did I buy the pies even though they were 50$ a piece? Because I was intrigued. I have nothing bad to say about the pie, it was a nicely made pie.
At the end of the day I left this review because you are constantly RUDE TO CUSTOMERS on this review forum and you LIED to somebody below me trying to say that a single pie DIDNāT cost them 50$⦠when it actually did cost them that, just like you said in your nasty gram back to me. I look in the mirror and am pleased with who I am and Iām happy to have given you my business even if my opinion sent you into a manic episode āŗļø
I hope you have a great week! Maybe stop being nasty to everyone commenting their reviews, reviews are what this space is for! While weāre on the topic, spewing all of your prices off super fast while customers are trying to actively browse isnāt very effective. Some people have disabilities that affect their ability to process information / ability with communicating in general / some people have hearing difficulty / etc. I recommend another method to show your prices to potential customers š«¶š¼
Side note: pies in Manhattan are around 40$ so youāre still 8$ above what high COL city...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFood was good, I got chocolate chip waffles and bacon which were very filling. However, the server seemed a bit off. I mean this in the nicest way possible, itās just that he seemed curt and at times, rude. All of the times he interacted with us (which werenāt many considering how long we waited to eat) he was preoccupied with another table or seating someone else, we were told weād get water as soon as we sat but only got it after our meals were finished and he was bringing the check over. We also attempted to use the hot sauce they had until we realized the bottle had some very not so fresh mold growing on it. We would have said something to the server but he didnāt stay very long with us. While the restaurant has a nice atmosphere, saying itās ācozyā is putting it lightly. I spent most of my meal with the back of my chair about a centimeter away from another persons chair. Aside from service, my time was alright though I thought it was a bit pricey (As well as being told they had a fee for using a card instead of cash right when we were paying). Thereās definitely room for improvement service wise, but the food was good. I suggest putting a sign up explaining the card situation when paying up front, hiring more staff (even one more person would do), as well as perhaps hiring a new server altogether as I donāt think the older man working the day we were there was cut out for it or even wants to do it. At any rate the food was good and pies looked very good (though we didnāt get a chance...
