I have stayed at the West Bank Inn many, many nights. It is by far the best hotel in the area to stay at. I have stayed in other hotels around the area, when no rooms were available, and must say that I was really sad when I had to do so. When I first stayed at the West Bank Inn I was really impressed with how clean everything was. The room was clean, bathroom was spotless, the air was fresh- no bad smells, and the sheets were spring fresh from the wash! Way better compared to other hotels in the area. Every visit after the first was no different, always clean, I was impressed! Another thing I love about this hotel is that there is no long hallways to walk to your room, or to your car. Every room has a porch on the bottom floor, or balcony if you stay on the top floor, with great scenic views of the lake. There is a mini fridge and microwave in all rooms, along with a flatscreen tv with all your streaming apps, just sign in and enjoy, but don’t forget to sign out before you leave. I was also able to connect my Xbox to the tv so if you have kids, big or small it’s a great thing to bring along! The price of staying here is quite affordable also, usually cheaper than area hotels. I am all about quality though so I wouldn’t mind if their prices were higher. Their staff obviously takes pride in doing their job; stay the night here and you’ll see what I’m talking about. If you need anything they will do everything they can to help accommodate you. This is the only place I will stay at in future visits. Thank you West Bank for many wonderful nights, see you...
Read moreMy husband and I have stayed at the West Bank Inn twice and both times we have enjoyed our time there. The rooms are spacious with a few essentials like a taller mini fridge, microwave and coffeemaker. My favorite part of staying here is the awesome view of the lake and the walking path around it right outside of our patio/balcony door! Bella's, next door, means we don't even have to drive to get food. The new owners are professional and provide stellar service. Highly recommend.
UPDATE JULY 2024 This is my fourth visit here and I can’t rave enough about how much I love it here. All 14 rooms face the lake with patio or balcony. The vibe is like you left Ohio to vacation, but you are still here!! Plenty of parking. Rooms are very clean, spacious and well taken care of. They have a small coffee maker, dorm size fridge/freezer, microwave and water available. I had an issue getting the TV to work last night, so I called the owner. He picked up right away and helped me through getting it to work. He also remembered us from last time. The bath towels are the softest EVER for a hotel towel. Shower was like getting a back massage. There is a restaurant right next door making it really convent to not have to drive anywhere. The walking path around the water to the lighthouse is literally right across the street. Reasonable rates. Note that there is no elevator. A little slice of...
Read moreA great location at a great price! We were completely satisfied with this hotel that had a clean, spacious, and very comfortable room with a beautiful view of the lake.
The downtown is walking distance and there are plenty of restaurants nearby and, in fact, a nice Italian one across the parking lot! Sadly, we were there on a Monday night and most eating places were closed on Monday—I think that might not be the case during the summer season. We will be back in the summer!
My only criticism would be the lighting in the room. This blows me away when I get into a comfortable room and turn on the lights and they are the super bright white LED type with a color temperature that is very cold—think florescent lighting but worse because of the intensity. AND the sad thing is that, for the same price, you could use LED lighting with the same brightness that casts a warm temperature glow around 2700 that would mimic incandescent lighting that's warm and inviting. Since the sink is in the room, when you turn on the lights (and there are 6 of them across the mirror), you feel like you are in a Walmart parking lot at night. So easy to fix but some owners just don't see it.
The lighting did not damage our experience. We were not in there that much. We loved the place and will plan a trip...
