While on the road for work over the past 9 months I was staying at the motor lodge and for the most part it was a pleasant experience, nothing special to rave about however I will never stay there again or recommend them to anyone. During my last stay, I was eaten alive at night across the span of 2 nights by some sort of insect and had gotten over 50 bites on my back and legs. I went to urgent care due to a bad reaction and they confirmed that the lumps were insect bites. I inspected the room and didn’t find any bed bugs however there were a few blood spots on the mattress when I took off the sheets and comforter which is a sign of bed bugs. Upon further inspection, the pull out couch was absolutely disgusting and the couches mattress looked like something you would find on the side of the road in New York. I was very upset and physically uncomfortable from that last stay and though I had to pay medical bills, lost hours at work, and ruined roughly $400 worth of clothes from washing/drying them on high heat to decontaminate anything that may have gotten in there, they refused to compensate me for any of that when I was only getting the bites at night while staying in one of their rooms. They had their own inspection done on the room and didn’t find bed bugs but something there...
Read moreI picked this motor lodge months ago online for the proximity to sites we were going to visit. I chose wisely! Our rooms were lovely, charming, clean and comfy. "Jay" was a great host. We asked for a good restaurant nearby and he said to try "The Common Man." He didn't know exactly what it was - he said they have some Italian dishes and some Mexican dishes. It was fine dining at its best without wallet-breaking prices. I told him to continue to suggest that restaurant - it's wonderful and the food is delicious!||||One thing that needs to be corrected on TripAdvisor is that breakfast is not included. I choose hotels/motels with breakfast to help get us on our way. It was a little disappointing but we just found food the next morning. ||||Jay took our picture as we sat in the rockers out front of each room. He puts feed out in the parking lot for the birds in the morning so you see birds come in to feed. Fun!||||It's a nice, quiet place, off the busy road, with a little stream flowing near the parking lot. I've already suggested this place (and The Common Man) to people traveling to that area. It was a great start to our nine-day,...
Read moreWe stayed at the Claremont motel August 13 -15 with another couple in 2 rooms. The rooms were extremely clean and comfortable. Beds were soft, just a bit shaky when your partner moves. Plenty of fresh pillows in a variety of firmness. Clean, soft sheets.||Bathroom was clean with new tile and appointments. Recently painted. Sink is tiny especially for a taller person and no depth, so watch your head if you bend over to wash your face 🙂.||We like to be able to park right in front of our door with our classic car and this setup was as expected. There is 1 chair outside each room, which would be nice if there were 2, but 1 is better than none!||Area was clean and quiet, but they do seem to like to feed the pigeons and birds in the parking lot, which seemed a little odd to me as they could have put it on the grass area. There was also 1 picnic table on the side.||Staff was pleasant, articulate and quiet (looked liked they live onsite).||Sum it up, I would definitely stay here again for the cleanliness, location (not in town, but close enough for amenities), safe parking,...
