I absolutely love this campgrpund. I travel for work, so I have been staying here for a while already, and this campground makes me want to move this way permanently just to utilize it! They have showers, bathrooms, laundry rooms, a bar and grill open on the weekends, and cheap wood for sale (a wheelbarrow full for 7$!!). They have a splash pad on the weekends for the kiddos, a beach to swim, and the lake to kayak or paddleboard (oh yeah, they rent those too!!) I was here for their AMAZING 4TH OF JULY weekend, with fireworks, live music, food and boozy pineapples, hello shots, and a shuttle if you didn't want to walk, but could not drive 😋 😉 I just absolutely love the environment. The owners are great. Nothing but wonderful things about this place. Stay here! You won't regret it! They have permanent spots, too, if you wanna park your camper for good!!

Just an OK campground. I think it is overpriced for what you get. The rating of 4.6 as of this review is too high. Most of the sites are seasonal sites and a good place for kids. Our site 14 is a back-in site with dirt and gravel separated by grass. The power and electrical are shared between sites, so depending on your site it could be on the wrong side. Fortunately, they are toward the back, so power was not a problem, but you might need a long water hose. The beach area is nice with a splash park, and blow-up slide. The office is only open Thursday-Sunday, with weird hours. We tried calling and could not get anybody. The lodge I was told used to be a restaurant now they just serve one item a day, Water pressure is very high > 100psi.

Great place for a little RnR!! Tubing kayaking and even an adult Booze Cruise! It's my understanding the campground is under new ownership and they don't have a restaurant anymore so be prepared but they do have a bar and live music sometimes!

Skip-Away Resort has undergone major expansion in the last couple of years, hosting a variety of fully equipped sites for permanents and occasional visitors as well. There are several hundred campsites nestled between the Turkey River(popular for river sports) and Quarry Lake, an 18 acre fully-stocked lake. For those who don't own a camper, there are several modern rentals as well as an authentic log cabin for larger groups. There is a beach, mini-golf, splash-pad, shuffleboard and other activities for all ages. In addition, a 9 hole golf course for adults is across the river. Nearby bike trails satisfy those who want to remain active during their stay. Activities focus on kids featuring a Sat. night wagon ride, visits from a dairy cow, movies, and holiday festivities/contests. If you are hungry, fill up at the "Quarry Lodge" which will be undergoing a major renovation this winter. It features Friday Night Seafood Buffet for only $13.95, Sunday Breakfast Buffet $7.95, and Sunday Dinner Brunch $9.95. Since I am one of the cooks, I want to share that the majority of the foods served on the buffets are cooked from scratch, including mashed potatoes and baked goods!! Other offerings are grill food and specialty "beach drinks." We have a great team that will make you feel welcome and we do our best to accommodate all needs! Manager, Terri Baker, is firmly committed to keeping the resort very family-friendly. Speeders and noise are kept to a minimum. The campground has been in business over 30 yrs and is we look forward to...

Very well taken care of. Hardly any mosquitoes, nice showers (at the main building, didn’t check out the other showers), lots to do. A nice, family-friendly place. However, I would not recommend it for tent campers. The nearest bathrooms are long way away from the tent sites. It feels like a mile long walk when you wake up at 5AM with an urgent need to go! The tent sites are on the main road, so lots of traffic. They are located under a large, LED street light. We also had to purchase fire wood from the campground — they do not allow you to use your own due to the ashborne bug. Understandable. Lastly, we chose this site because they offer a shuttle service to haul our canoe/kayak up the Turkey River so we could float back down to camp. Asked for a 5-6 hour float, but it ended up only being about 3 hours. We understand that different variables affect the time it takes to float the river, but we thought they would be more familiar with the different access points and timing from each one. We still appreciated the shuttle service. Overall, it was a very nice place to stay. We...
