We had an unfortunate experience booking a stay at this hotel. My family was driving home and they weren't able to find any places to sleep late at night, so I decided to use red roof phone call system to book 2 rooms on behalf of my family. At the end of the reservation they requested to provide credit card information to complete the reservation and I explained to them that my family will pay on site when they will arrive there with a different card, so I will only provide my credit card information to complete the reservation. I received confirmation numbers for the 2 rooms we reserved for the night of 08/01/25. My family arrived, paid for the rooms and went to sleep. At 12:30 am the room phone started ringing and my wife was told to come downstairs to see the receptionist. When she went downstairs, she was told that they gave somebody else's rooms and now my family needs to leave. My wife was in shock and told the receptionist that everyone is asleep right now. Eventually they resolved the issue and my family ended staying there for the night of 08/01/25 and checked out on 08/02/25 in the morning. A few days later I checked my bank account statement and found a charge on my card for a different day that I never booked from red roof inn. I called their number again to see what happened and the lady on the phone said with an attitude that "there was a no call no show and you gave your card number" I told her that I gave my card number to complete the reservation on the phone and my family already paid for the rooms on site and I did not give permission to book any other rooms on my behalf or use my card. She then replied with an attitude "it's non refundable fee, you gave your card number". We then tried to submit a complaint through their system and were told we will receive an email confirmation of the investigation within 7 business days. 2 full weeks later we called them again to ask what the status is and were told that "we have all your information, but it was not submitted yet". After that I called my bank and now they took over the investigation for fraudulent charges. This location is a complete disgrace and simply mocked me personally and my family from the beginning. I understand that mistakes happen, but how they respond to their mistakes and try to resolve them says a lot about their management and company culture. This review is a message to everyone else who might decide to stay here to make sure to request solid proof from them - such as emails, confirmation numbers in writing and never use their phone system or provide your card info, cause you might end up with surprise charges for random days you never end up booking and trying to call them for a resolution would just be a waste of time...
Read moreThe moment I walked into the hotel I had a poor experience. The front desk staff was on the phone and did not acknowledge our existence at the desk at all. Thirty minutes later we were in our room. The room was in deplorable condition. There was mold in the corner of the bathroom, crusty dirt like gunk on the handle, and the tub had a Vanir finish over it, to hide the hole underneath the tub. When you stepped in, you thought for sure you would fall thru, or break something with all the cracking it made (not to mention you could feel the whole which was the size of a fist). The floor had a brown stain on it, that honestly, looked like some animal had pooped on the floor and it had not been steamed clean. The counters and drawers were filthy. They had dust all over them and dirt in the drawers. The pillows were frisbee flat. I asked the staff for extra pillows and was met with a rude “I can only give you two”. This made me feel like I was an inconvenience to them. I tried calling to the front desk that night, and was on the phone for 10 minutes before I hung up from frustration. The next morning we went to breakfast at 8 am. There was no coffee, no eggs or sausage, the juice machine kept giving a concoction of both apple and orange juice mix, a few bagels and a few donuts and some cereal was all that was left. I can’t comment on the waffle maker, or the refrigerated food. After all we had been through with this hotel, I was honestly scared to try any of it. The staff told us that the hot food was cooking and it would be out soon, then shut the door and never appeared for a good hour. The pool had debris in it. My mother went in and there was disintegrated rubber bands and un- identifiable things in the bottom. There was a hot tub there. It had been converted to part of the pool (which is fine if…). The jet knobs were disintegrating in the pool as well. Upkeep is not a priority at this hotel. There was a handicapped individual who was going to use the pool chair to get in the pool. They had to wait for a long time for someone to come help them with the battery pack, then the thing hadn’t even been charged! When I checked out I told the staff about how dissatisfied I was. Instead of saying “sorry” for my troubles, I was met with excuse after excuse. If we hadn’t been so tired and in the middle of corn fields we would have left right away. For the price I paid I didn’t expect a three star hotel, but I did expect one that respected their hotel and customers more then they did. I will never stay at this hotel, or any other Red Roof Inn again! Very dissatisfied! I also have pictures to show what I was...
Read moreI stay at this location a lot (once every couple months) because it’s close to where my family lives and it’s a fairly nice hotel for a decent price friendly staff, but my last visit there was terrible. When my husband went to take a shower he turned the handle the entire thing fell off and the water could not be shut off or adjusted. We told the staff who shrugged their shoulders at us and told us they couldn’t fix it. Which was fine, but neither of us got to shower before an important event we had. They couldn’t find us another room because the whole place was booked, and they told me I would receive an email receipt with a discount, but that they currently were busy with the computers being down. Okay so I never got a receipt still today (2 weeks later) but I checked my account to see they gave me $25 back. Which I don’t really think is an acceptable amount back based on them not providing one of the basic needs filled by a hotel room. And of course trying to find anyone to talk to about it is impossible so I’m writing a bad review even though I spend hundreds of dollars here a year and generally enjoy the place. (Our room was quite clean other than the POS shower). I would also like to update this since the owner replied. Number one thank you for replying and finding out that it was a $32 dollar refund instead of a $25 which is what shows on my actual bank statement which is the only thing I have to go off of since I still 7/29/2019 have not received a receipt.
Update: This Hotel has improved so much from my first review and I want to give them credit for that. The staff is great, the rooms are usually really clean though some of the older rooms are a bit worn down. The refinished rooms have always been immaculate and I check everything in my room before bringing any personal items in. It’s still a good go...
