Location 5/5🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟|View from rooms 5/5|Ocean, 50 yards from our door5/5|Cleanliness of Room 0/5|Customer Service -1/5|I’ve stayed at Beach Island Resort|Multiple times, pre-COVID, and had great experiences prior to 2014.But this stay was quite disappointing. Upon arrival the Mgr took us to our room. My grandson, a curious 11yo, opened the fridge and asked “whose food is this”! Mgr apologized and asked us to leave while he cleaned the room. We left, returned a few hours later. Decided to shower after our long day of driving… the shower knobs would not work. By now there were no motel staff to assist us. I washed sand off of my grandson with bowls of water from the kitchen sink!!! By now we’re all tired and turned back the bed sheets to find hairs… black ( we’re all blond) long and short, obvious body fluid stains. Ugh. We slept on our beach towels. |Next morning, called mgr , emailed, called housekeeping, left messages, checked office several times, no response. Left note on outside of office asking for help… crickets. End of day 2, finally bumped into mgr and insisted on cleaner room or at least clean sheets. Recvd a stack of sheets left on the coffee table… but I forgot to ask for clean towels, so no clean towels. |(I bought towels from dollar store)|Later I was reprimanded by mgt for leaving a nasty note for all to see. But I apology for being unavailable when we needed assistance with basics. |She did begrudgingly knock off 1 nights charge.|Addendum: her excuse was that the mgr was sick, had a contagious rash… the icing on the cake? Nope……, when we started to leave Friday, my grand son complained of feeling sick… by the time we got back to ATL, he required ER visit which diagnosed STREPTOCOCCAL PYROGENS aka strep throat which is directly related to the managers illness. My dgtr and I also diagnosed with Strep!!!! I’m home today, on antibiotics, sick as a dog, missing work. Thanks...

Beach island resort is a tiny compound of three buildings with a private beach behind its heated pool and little slice of quiet space coast nestled center of Cocoa Beach away from strip but a ten minute trolley ride, private parking, hot tub with jets and BEACH. It’s a no frills type vacation.
First thing you’ll walk through a quaint welcoming area with a sharing library, info on nearby attractions which there’s plenty including zip lining, a zoo, dolphin tours, oodles of gentlemen clubs, fishing, surfing, and nightlife.
Then ahhh resort life. Friendly people with small chairs outside their rooms enjoying cold drinks and relaxing. A short walk to the beach, the most beautiful beach you can imagine. Most rooms have a little yard space some with outdoor grills.
Kitchen is adequate, plenty of utensils and pots/pans. Towel service weekly. This is a 1960s former-astronaut apartment complex where you can view space coast launches from the backyard and turn off the busy-ness of life.
Pros: privacy, scenery, great a/c, Florida vintage vibes, on site management very responsive- location location location
Cons: rooms don’t have major updates, furniture is suitable, windows do not open/are sealed, but seriously… the cons are minimal compared to the vibes!! This place is a GEM
I highly recommend booking!! We made so many great memories there and the people were so pleasant. It’s a wonderful...
