We were attending a wedding at The Abbey and booked the hotel room as part of the block for the wedding. Booking was super easy. It was a prepay but a fair price for a family of 6 to stay in one room. Check in was quick and effortless. The whole hotel was wonderfully decorated with the school theme throughout; down to the door hanger and keys and key holder. The room was adequately stocked with plenty of towels, blankets, pillows, and toiletries. There were two water bottles on the desk with a nice hand written note welcoming us. The entire facility and rooms were immaculately cleaned and in fabulous condition. Even with hosting the wedding party and guests, it was quiet and not at all noisy at any point during our stay. It was a very short walk from the Venue to the hotel with ample parking. The beds were comfortable too; including the pull out couch. The next morning after checkout we went over to the cafe for breakfast it was a great price for fabulous food!! Highly recommend everything!! Shout out...

Our room was better than most roadside hotels. No issues at all with our room. Our room was located towards the back of the building and had great access to entry door and outside ramp to parking lot. No issues with key card.
We booked weeks in advance for 5 nights. At Check-in, we were first told that our room was not ready and that we would have to change rooms with second night. After much delay, it was discovered that our room was in fact ready. Computer/human error.
On the last day there, they called to ask why we had not checked out. At check-in the person at the desk changed our reservation to 4 nights due to switching rooms which did not happen. Another human error.
At check-in, using the luggage carrier, we had trouble getting it through the double set of doors. The outside doors, only the right side worked. The inside doors, only the left side worked. At departure, we skipped the carrier and made multiple trip to load our vehicle.
Overall, a good stay. Will...

Skirt away from St.Louis, hit the 435 and make your way to the Principal hotel. Im a solo traveler, and comparable to the rate of a Red Roof Inn stay, I experienced a suttle schoolhouse structured setting with a comfortable King bed, and a nostalgiac classroom setting that made me reminisce and appreciate the environment at the same time.
The staff worked diligently ensure I could check in after 14 hrs on the road even if my stay was only 6 hrs. Much thanks to the team for that.
Periodic table shower curtains, make shift lockers in the hallway, recycling materials to design the staircases...all genius within the design of this hotel.
The cozy conveniently located breakfast and lunch spot right in front provided great options for a quick bite as well. I would suggest this hotel to anyone looking to "quietly pass through " and enjoy some sleep and a trip down memory...
