**I am resubmitting my initial two star review with one star as customer service returned an attempted contact call with a voicemail stating that “what was described did not add up.” I’m not sure how I could have made anything more clear. This unfortunately warrants never again staying in a Country Inn & Suites hotel chain for as long as we travel. Thanks to all who read this!
I’ve stayed at several Country Inn & Suites that I can remember, but this one takes the cake at being almost comically bad. Starting off, myself and 4 others got to the hotel around 11-11:30 at night and the front doors were locked, you were to use a key card or pick up the phone available at the door to have it unlocked, which was understandable for safety reasons. However, the key card was broken with a note saying to use the phone. After waiting a few minutes on the phone and hearing it ring over and over in the lobby with no answer, we had to push open the doors to let ourselves in. (So much for safety).
When we got to the front desk, nobody was there to greet us. Eventually, the service attendant came from a room behind the desk rubbing her eyes and had clearly been asleep. I’ve never been to a hotel where the staff sleep on the job, but hey, mistakes happen. After we got our room keys, we walked through the lobby where the air conditioner didn’t appear to be working (there were oscillating fans placed accordingly) and up to our room. The room was clean and cool, so that was good to see, but there were two bath towels in the bathroom, so we figured we’d go get a few more.
I went back down to the lobby to ask the desk attendant for a few more towels, but there was no one in sight to greet anyone. I figured the attendant had gone back to the adjacent room to catch some more winks of sleep, so I said “Excuse me” twice to which there was no answer. I ended up drying off with a hand towel after a shower, so that was a new experience with limited fabric.
I will add here that the room did appear clean and tidy and the beds were comfortable.
The next morning, we all went down to grab a bite at the continental breakfast which was nothing short of a buffet for mice considering the amount and variety of food currently out. The heating tray had two empty buckets and one bucket of tater tots. There was no evidence of any oatmeal in the oatmeal container, the juice machine had all of its sections marked “out of order” though they had juice to the side in glass jugs with spigots, and there were maybe 2 muffins in the pastry display (give or take a muffin). The breakfast attendant eventually brought out sausage patty croissant sandwiches which appeared nice, but the sausage patty and egg inside were as cold as the inside of a refrigerator (I’m not exaggerating here), and luckily they had a microwave on hand to zap the sandwich. The sandwich warmed up was actually pretty good.
The poor breakfast selection did not appear to be the fault of the food attendant, but I think she could have used some more help. The attendant at the front desk in the morning appeared to be very nice as well.
All in all, this was a poor experience. Spending over $150 on a hotel room should guarantee a good experience overall. Had this room been $70-$80 cheaper, I’d have been more lenient on this review and expect several setbacks (aside from Sleeping Beauty’s cousin manning the front desk, that’s just ridiculous). My wife and I spent much less on a downtown Atlanta room at The Marriott with brand new amenities and good service several weeks ago, so I compare it to that regarding price.
At this Country Inn & Suites, the room and beds were nice, comfortable, and clean. The shower was nice, but the drain plug in the bathroom sink did not work, so it just sat there trapping water in the bowl (we took it out while using it). It was quiet and the room stayed cool overnight, but the quality of the staff service and other amenities including breakfast just took this experience down way too many notches, and we will be sure to look elsewhere when in need of a hotel in...
Read moreAfter working all day and then driving hours to be able sleep for the night to wake up bright and early for a swim meet, we should've just stayed home and woke up extra early to drive. -Pros: location reflects pricing. It's not that far from places to eat, attractions, grocery store. Minimal road noise. The check out process was easy. -Cons: The woman at the front desk, Mrs. P, who others have referenced in other reviews, should perhaps get some additional training because if she's what is representing this chain, they really need to do better. We arrived after a large bus group checked in, so maybe she was overwhelmed or having a bad day. Making the most of our time, we ordered a pizza to have delivered and scheduled during a delivery window, we left to grab a few items from a grocery store and I called the hotel to ask what type of coffee maker was in the room (kcup, single brew) so we could pick up our favorite coffee while we were out. She very rudely said she didn't know and I could just get coffee at the desk. Got back from the store, took the kid and myself upstairs while the other half waited in the lobby for the pizza. Remote didn't work for TV, sent kid down to her Dad to exchange remotes. Was told if it didn't work again not to come to the front desk because the woman would have to come to our room. Pizza arrived. Unfortunately, no paper plates, cutlery or napkins. I remembered seeing breakfast so I thought I would ask if we could grab some disposable plates or bowls. Front desk woman had a customer infront of her and she asked if she could help me, I asked if I could get a couple plates for the pizza we just ordered and she snapped and said, those plates are for customers. That would be me, FYI. I said ok, so, would I be able to get a few papertowels, something? She said, I have to help this customer, and I said, ok-- I was planning to wait as it was, I wasn't wanting them this instant. The agent then took a key to show a room, went up the staircase where there is a glass wall and bad mouthed me to another customer and I looked up at her and said, I can hear you. They came downstairs and she came to me with three paper plates and said that's all you can get, and I thanked her. Fast forward. We have eaten dinner. It's time to take showers and go to bed. Daughter showers first. There are two towels and three humans. She announces, mom, the water is yellow. It was. It cleared after about 5 minutes. I go to prepare the pull out sofa while she showers, there are no linens. So, again, I go downstairs where the agent sits and eats and does not get up until a different guest comes up. She serves that guest first. I ask for linens for the pull out and an extra big towel since there are 3 people total in our room. She said she would bring the towel. We never got the towel. She never called to tell us she didn't have any or that they were behind or out. -We stayed in room 314. -There was an unfinished threshold between the living space and the bedroom space that are two different heights and someone will trip on it or slice their foot if they aren't careful or aware. -The tiles around the toilet were not correctly placed with mortar because they moved when you stepped on them. -The toilet ran, hard, unless you moved the handle just right and opened the top of the tank. -The water was yellow for about 5 minutes and then cleared out. -The bathroom door had a lovely decoration that my daughter pointed out. -The windows open all the way with no screens or security features, which is a...
Read moreTerrible experience: Moldy biscuits at breakfast, I handed the lady at the desk the biscuit and all she said was “oh” so needless to say we didnt eat breakfast there again. Room smelled like mold, every time we walked in we were hit with a nasty smell. Bathtub pieces not attached I had to attach the drain for my daughter to take a bath
We put a milk in the fridge for my daughter. Went back to drink it and it was moldy because there were not enough outlets for the fridge, microwave and the tv even though they were in the same area so they decided to just unplug the fridge but tuck the cord so you wouldn’t see it.
I was also charged $50 right at check out for “stained sheet”. My daughter was in a pageant there and got some make up on the sheets. The issue is not with the charge if it was in fact stained. But there’s no way the sheet was even washed in order to know it’s stained right at check out. Scammers
I absolutely do NOT recommend this hotel at all. I’m sure there are plenty of hotels in the area that don’t have moldy breakfast and the rooms smell much nicer and won’t trigger your allergies.
Since I can’t respond to the businesses comment I will edit my post to respond: I did stay at your location for 6 days since hotels were quite limited due to miss Georgia pageant happening. I sucked it up and stayed there. You are correct I was refunded $80 for my inconvenience by customer service. Thankful for them. However when I tried to talk to the actual establishment I stayed at I was told absolutely no refund. So it’s clear customer service actually cares about their customers being happy and the employees of the actual...
