(He deserves 0 stars) If you are ever in Brown County (Nashville, IN) do your best to avoid Westward Ho campground, unless you are 50+ with no dogs, only you and one other person, no children, no fellow campers, enjoy the racket of highway drivers on rumble strips less than 50 feet away from your campsite and like to go to bed at 10pm. We saw the nasty reviews about the place, but thought we would give it a try anyway and it was not a good experience. We camped with 5 other couples. He put us in the middle "pull through full hook ups", but wouldn't let me pull through he had me back my 5er in because he didn't want me driving on an 8' patch of grass/gravel that we were supposed to be parked on anyway. He made at least 2 of the other couples back in as well. He was "guiding me in" while his buddy was standing on the edge of the grass and would not move so I had to try to maneuver around him as well. (this may be the first year we have had a 5er but I am fully aware of how to back it in with my wife's help there is a difference between helping not me not hit anything and telling me how you want me to park my camper) He would constantly drive by all of his camp sites in his obnoxious truck all hours of the night. We stayed up until around 130-200 in the morning talking having fun like you do when you camp in a group and religiously at 10pm was telling us that we needed to keep it down because of the other campers that were nowhere near us and said that if we could not keep it down that we would be forced to leave.(He was not nice about the way he told us to keep it down either, it is one thing to come up and say " hey guys you need to keep it down it's past quiet hours" but what said was "you guys need to shut up you are disturbing other people, now either keep it down or you are leaving tonight, then when one of the campers "who had a little too much to drink" started to say something he basically told her to shut up and leave the topic alone) The next night we stayed up until 1230 when he came back with 2 buckets of water and doused our campfire and basically forced grown adults to go to bed or he would kick us out again. While he was leaving our dogs barked at him because he walked through our campsite next to our overhang where the hitch is, and where the dogs kennel is, then had the balls to say to either shut the dogs up or put them inside. (it's because you invade their space, if you would have walked away from our camper like you are supposed to they wouldn't have barked) I understand it's courteous to keep it down after quiet hours (which is 10 pm there), but you can't hear yourselves think over the highway noise so we had to yell every once in a while over the campfire and trucks honking their horns while going by the campsite. The water nozzles leak water like crazy, we went to sleep the first night and woke up the next almost flooded the campsite. (I checked our hose, it was not the hose but the knob at the top that you have to turn in order to release the water that was leaking) He says it is a high pressure water system in which you need a regulator on the faucet itself in order to not blow your plumbing or blow your hose off, but it was a constant battle with low pressure the whole time we were there. This morning I started the fire again so we could cook and sit around the fire which we did for a while, then we decided to go in town while the others stayed behind at the campground and he doused our fire again before we got back. This is just some of the things that went on at this campground. So if you are in Nashville, IN and can't get in to the Brown County State Park, DO NOT go to...

We asked about bed bugs because we saw a previous review about them, but the front desk staffer assured us that they had an exterminator in every cabin and recently got new mattresses in each cabin - as they get new mattresses around this time every year. I am purposely writing this review 2 weeks after our stay to be sure there were no bed bugs. We washed and dried everything after we left to be safe (they have washers and dryers on the lot). We didn’t experience anything of the sort so now you know at least cabin 5 is safe. The cabin condition was okay, it’s what you expect when you imagine a small outdoor cabin. Cabin had AC and heat and that was convenient. Fit two people nicely, but you should only rent if you want to stay outside for a majority of the time, as it’s just one large room. Seemed more like an RV lot than a cabin and camping lot. If you’re looking for a more long-term stay the RV lots seemed nice, can’t speak from experience though. Lots are admittedly too close together, but it didn’t bother us. Everybody seemed to keep to themselves and were nice if we did come in contact. You can’t hear it much indoors and it’s a lot quieter at night, but if you’re looking for a wilderness experience, this probably isn’t the place, they don’t have many trees and are located on a highway. A lot of people on here complained about the highway being so close, which is a relavent worry. Also, I wanted to mention that though the location isn’t the best in regards to camping, it is right next to Brown county park and directly across the street from a winery. There is a newly made bathroom within walking distance of the cabins but you also have the showerhouse. The bathroom was nice and I was told that bathrooms were cleaned everyday, which was not accurate. If you need to use this bathroom, bring your own toilet paper because toilets were not cleaned and restocked everyday. Otherwise it was a nicer small bathroom thing than I was expecting. The showerhouses on the otherhand, were always clean and stocked and warm. I never ran out of hot water, but that was my experience with my 10-15 minute showers. On another note, the lake was a nice view in front of the cabin. It was good for fishing, we had a lot of luck with worms. The cabin store sells worms if you forgot yours. Apparently it has catfish, bluegill, bass, and some more. Fishing is catch release and on a private lake so no fishing license necessary. Overall, great experience. Rating a 4/5 because it was a nice stay for the price, but it needs a little more work...

AND I DONT WANT TO HEAR NO CRYING KIDS EITHER!,,2- Next day My uncle and aunt had rented a tent site for their daughter and her 2 boys, it was in their names because they paid for it, my uncle said they told him that his daughter was considered visitors since it was in my uncles name and that the boys couldn't swim,, I went to the office to let them know that in fact my uncle had rented the place for them kids and that my uncle and aunt had a room at a hotel in Nashville,,, He yelled at me and said "YOU LET HIM COME BACK AND TAKE CARE OF IT!!",, another nephew had shown up with 2 of his kids and when he got his car stopped by the office,, the old guys yells " WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?",,, the same day around 3pm,, my grandson, 10 years old, had broke a pool rule,, he jumped into the pool and instead of yelling at the adult that was up there with the kids,,, he chose to yell at the kid,, when I was told about this, I decided to approach the wife, (thought she was kind hearted and easier to get along with),, I asked her what happened and she started yelling "ARE YOU CALLING MY HUSBAND A Lier?" I say no, Im not calling him a lier, all I'm really trying to say is if a kid is breaking a rule, he should yell at the adults,, not the kids,, she kept yelling at me,, then my son and daughter seen her and came over to see what was going on, the old lady then got in my daughter's face,, darned near nose to nose,, my daughter told her like 3 times to get out of her face and the lady just yells "I DONT HAVE TO AND ILL GET IN YOUR FACE IF I WANT TO" my son tried to tell her she didn't want to do that, anyhow my daughter ended up backing up and throwing the drink in the ladies face,, (though i don't approve of that action) the dumb broad did finally get out of her face! needless to say,, my kids were kicked out,, we went about 7 miles down the road into Bean Blossom and stayed at Bill Monroes campground, we told them of our experience at the westward ho,, and they weren't surprised,, says that happens all the time,, they are mean to people and either kick people out or that people just leave and end up coming there.. westward ho keeps the money with no refunds and they get to rent the "already rented" spots to...
