This place was a last resort. We are homeless and had no other options. I don't smell cigarettes, but I definitely smell weed. I know ALL these huge unruly pitbulls running around off leash aren't service/emotional support animals. Nobody else picks up after their dog. There's feces in the grass. There's feces in the mulch. There's even feces on the pedestrian pathway encircling the building. It irks the hell out of me when another goes to a property that isn't theirs and doesn't pick up after their dog. It's DISGUSTING. They need to put a stipulation in whatever contract one fills out to stay here stating that if you don't pick up after your dog, we'll charge you an additional $50 or even $100. It's absurd. The front desk guy seems okay, but is highly dismissive. You get one set of towels no matter how long you stay. You get one roll of toilet paper and one tiny bar of soap no matter how long you stay. You can switch out your sheets however. Other "guests" yell, scream and argue in the hallways. "Guests" have their music/television so loud, you can hear it halfway down the opposite hallway. "Guests" slam their doors and stomp through the hallways. Kids run up and down the hallways yelling, screaming, throwing tantrums. "People" act like this is their own private Idaho. It's crazy. We've been asked to wait outside our rooms for at least an hour multiple times whilst they treat for bugs. Honestly, I did see one baby roach. They'd save monies if they kept the applicator apparatus and pest poison on site. That way they can spray on their own schedule in betwixt guests instead of having their paying guests suffer outside of their room whilst they exterminate. One pays almost $400 a week to stay here and you have to vacate your room multiple times, not cool. We had to listen to the fire alarm going off for like 3 hours the other day whilst the Fire Marshal went from room to room making sure the fire alarm within each worked properly. Mine was working just fine the day prior. Twas truly earsplitting for myself. I have my 2 cats and my chihuahua with me. I couldn't possibly fathom what my furbabies were having to contend with auditorily. The one in my room wasn't working that day. Thank God. You expect myself and my "kids" to suffer through that deafening noise for 3 hours, not cool whatsoever. Room #208 has kids. I went down to speak with the front desk and asked him to speak with #208 cuz no matter the time of day or night, they allow their little brats to pound on the wall, kick the wall, tap on the wall and scratch whatever along the wall. They've been doing it for approximately a week. I'm exhausted. He said they just checked in the day prior and will be leaving that day. Again, they've been here longer than a day and left a few days after his "leaving that day". Dismissive. It's around $1290 to rent here for a month. I've spent over $2000 for 37 days. I was locked out of my room on the 12th. I went to the office to rectify, but they were closed. Twas a Sunday. I called the number on the door. A female answered and said to meet her at the office. I waited over 30 minutes and nobody showed. I thought she was driving from Grove City or something. I called again, she said twas her bad and that she's on her way. 15+ minutes later she finally arrived and guess what? She was staying in the building. UGH! She was incredibly rude as well. They take and take and take and then make you suffer through their irritating and intrusive practices. Tis crazy. PostScript: I gave 2 stars cuz twas shelter whilst homeless and the maintenance guy is very polite, friendly...
Read moreVery delayed posting but still cannot get the poor experience out my head. Good stories for friends though, I suppose. I stayed here for about 10 weeks (in 2012) as I was in the middle of an internal transfer for work ... CMH to CLT.
The room was very plain but clean upon arrival. Asked for non-smoking but was put on the smoking floor. Most nights were quite but could smell weed and cigarettes through the walls. Various fire alarms were pulled throughout my stay - it was the norm.
My last week was horrid.
First, I’ll start with my last night there. A fire alarm was pulled at 2AM and lasted until about 3:30AM. I had to be at work at 8AM.
The worst evening will be called ‘the night I met Tiffany.’ I was fast asleep and about 1AM I awoke suddenly. Laying with my back against the TV and door. TV on have some light to the room. Still very much asleep, I adjusted my blankets and noticed a shape at the end of my bed. A bit groggy I thought it was my imagination. Human instinct kicked in and I flipped the light on and found an adult staring at me IN MY ROOM. After jumping out of bed and screaming expletives at the intruder I became uncomfortable with the situation.
The intruder was a nearly 9 months pregnant woman without pants or undies on, tank top rolled over her breasts, and a snuggy over her shoulders. She couldn’t string words together and simply stared at me bewildered. She was high or drunk ... clearly on something.
I tried getting her to tell me her room number. Her name. Who she was with. Anything.
She tried to sit on the bed. GROSS. Tried to get under the blankets. GROSS. I called the night operator line. No response.
I called 911 and EMS was dispatched with the police. She was taken away and in the hands of medical professionals. Police were easy to work with; gave them my name and contact details. Never heard from anyone after they left.
Following morning, I waited until the front desk personnel arrived and explained the situation. Their response: “oh, so you met Tiffany.” Completely unprofessional and utterly dismal customer service. Clearly she is a known ‘resident’ yet the hotel doesn’t care.
I’m sure it was traumatic for her and hope she is okay (and the baby is healthy). For your own safety, DO NOT stay here. Spend some extra money and stay in a safer...
