Tryon Resort — Hotel in Columbus

Stayed on an RV site at the resort with my husband & his brother for Saturday Night Lights. Staff are very professional & helpful. We were told that the RV sites never fill up & sure enough there was plenty of room even booking last minute. We were assigned a site & emailed info. Sites are all paved & level with picnic table & trash can. No fire pits available at the site. The layout is uniform with only recently planted trees. Care was taken with the design to prevent flooding & sites hate stone or pea gravel. We had a stone one, and it was pretty hard to walk around aside from the concrete pad. Sites are full hook-up & easy to access. There are also small cabins to rent, which are also exposed & very uniform. We stayed overnight at the Overmountain Lodge while there for an event. There was some confusion at check-in due to another reservation we had made and cancelled, but Kimberly was quite pleasant and helpful. It's a reasonable price for the experience and to be within stumbling distance of the activities and, uhm, the bars. Do take your earplugs because the walls and floors really convey sound, esp footsteps from upstairs. And, oooohhh, the water pressure in the shower was awful, not much better than a trickle. The continental breakfast was a nice bonus but it's just that...baked goods and yogurt (no decaf coffee). The common areas and outdoor space are lovely and comfy. The resort is very large. Our one bedroom cabin was near the boundary and very quiet and cozy. The minus 1 star is based on the lack of information the staff has regarding events. It was tough to find someone who knew locations and schedules of the light and drone show. Shame on the droners for being 90 minutes late to start the show. Many families left due to...
