Had really good ratings, but I was pretty disappointed with the stay. The room was a great size. We were in a 2 queen bdrm with a full kitchen and a living room with a full-size mattress. 2 tvs. Perfect for myself, my husband, and our 4 kids. They had an indoor pool we used. You have to ask an employee to open it for you. I'm assuming so kids don't go in without parents, so that's good. They also had a little gated area outside of the pool where you can hang out and BBQ. Breafast was a typical hotel breakfast. So decent. There was an older hispanic woman who was handling breakfast, and she was kind and helpful, making sure everything was clean and in order, and an older hispanic looking man who always had a good attitude. They also had a pretty good latte/cappuccino machine. This is where the positive feedback ends, sadly. The room looked as if they did a quick wipe down. Stains on the stove top crusted on. We couldn't open any apps on the TVs or cnnect ur phones. There was blood stains on the side of one mattress closest to the window as well as the sheet which made me question if they were cleaned because it couldn't be a coincidence the same sheet was placed on the exact spot as the blood stain.(we stayed in room 403) so right away knew it was one of those hotels that probably gave their employees 15 mins to clean each room. When I booked the room, there was an option to request extras. So I requested extra towels (as hotels usually only have 4) and extra pillows and blankets for the pull out couch. There was nothing in the room, so I called to request them again and was told I had to come down to get them since she couldn't leave the front desk. I said that was fine as we were leaving for dinner and could ask on our way back up. Did that, and we were given 1 blanket and 2 extra towels, then we were told she had to get back to the desk as there were other customers waiting. There was 1 guy who told us to go in front, so our kids didn't have to wait. When we set up the couch, it had no sheet on it. We had to use the top sheets from each bed. And they used the 1 blanket that was given to us. We were there for a total of 5 days and were told we would only get room service when we asked before 11 am. the day of. Well, on day 3, we asked for room service at 1040am on our way out, and we were told it was too late by the 2 women at the front desk because the hotel was full. My husband said he wasn't aware that was a stipulation since we weren't told that, and they basically said sorry, so he asked for clean towels and for the trash to be taken out at least. Otherwise, we'd have to leave the trash in the hallway. They said they could do that. Well, we got back that night & We noticed a lot of doors were cracked open. We got to our room, and sure enough, it was open as well. We went through the room and decided housekeeping left the door open after coming in. After seeing our group, they also took all the towels and left only 2 new towels when they took out 6. Throughout the rest of the stay, we noticed multiple room doors cracked open. With the attitude of most of the employees not wanting to be there, and the cleanliness of the hotel, I'd have to say this was probably one of the worst I've stayed at and will not be...
Read moreWe stayed in the Suite with 2 Queen Beds for 5 nights.
This was by far the WORST Best Western we have stayed at in terms of quality.
The Good: *Every staff member we met was extremely friendly *Quick and easy check in *Free member rewards (we got our pick of snacks from the shopping area) *Large suite with kitchen area *Located close to the freeway, Love's Truck Stop, McDonalds (DO NOT RECOMMEND) and a Casino *Breakfast was as expected and typical for other Best Westerns we have stayed at *Washer and dryer on site. Quarters can be bought from the front desk. Dryer is free but you pay $3 per washer load, $6 if you want an extra rinse cycle
The Bad: *No cleaning services offered, even with the number of days we booked. We were told if we wanted supplies or cleaning we would have to request it the same day, in the morning. *Nobody answers the phone *Main door keycard access doesn't work. You will have to ring the bell and knock if the main doors are closed as you are locked out until someone hears you *The hallway on the 3rd floor needed vacuumed and a light bulb was out *Our shower door wouldn't close properly so we had to keep extra towels on the floor to soak up water *The wall and ceiling had scuff marks on them *The carpet needed vacuumed, floor needed mopped *There was used lint roller sheet by the fridge *Dishwasher full of dishes (did not look clean) *Dirty couch and bed frame with stuff stuck to them *The elevators inspection reports appeared to be 6months behind schedule *The room above us had small children or animals running around up 9pm to 6am, every night we were there
The Ugly: *The main door isn't consistently locked during the late evenings/early morning hours as it should be. This is a huge safety concern as the front desk is not always attended. We witnessed someone walking in and leaving after a few minutes and the lobby was empty. *People sleeping in their cars in the parking lot. Again this is a safety concern. *We did not have a blow dryer or a coffee pot in our room. When we asked about it we were told they were not surprised as this was the 4th time this had happened. It wasn't until our 4th day and multiple requests before they supplied us with them. *One of the beds was made with dirty sheets. When we called and requested additional towels (leaky shower) and a new sheet set they said we missed the daily request for cleaning and would have to pick them up from the front desk. When we got back to the room we noticed we didn't even get a full bedding set *Curtains were absolutely filthy *No discount, refund, or anything was offered to supplement the extremely poor...
Read moreThis place needs help. If you choose to stay here, bring your cleaning supplies and kitchen supplies.
Pros: Comfortable regular beds. Convenient location. Friendly staff. Working elevators. Good breakfast. Kitchenettes in the suites.
Cons: Vacuuming job in the rooms is terrible. This place either needs better functioning vacuums and/or better training for cleaning staff on how to use them. All the rooms we were in had stuff left on the carpet. A hair tie that wasn't mine and a little jewelry bobble were left on the room floors, which tells me the cleaning isn't very thorough.
Couch bed mattresses were awful. The springs were digging into my son's backs.
Maintenance needs improvement: the last room we were in, the bathroom sink drain was slow. The light in the microwave above the cooktop was out. We had to bring the working office chair from the room we were transferred from because the chair in the new room wasn't working. The door lock wouldn't engage in our second room, so we had to be transferred to another room.
Kitchenettes are not stocked. They have pots and pans. Scratched non-stick frying pans. But no non stick spatula. Is there any inventory taken or a check out system for the kitchen items? There were no cooking utensils. I had to borrow a spatula to cook some eggs. The third room we were in had a mug and a wine glass, which was a step above the second room we were in. No eating utensils, no plates or bowls. No cups. No strainers/colanders.
Shower stalls need to be replaced so that the person doesn't get blasted by cold water when they turn on the water. I feel sorry for vertically challenged people who cannot reach the shower head to adjust it so they don't get sprayed right away.
"Heated" indoor pool was cold. No pool towels when we were there. They got new pool towels the next day, but we didn't bother going again because the pool was cold and over chlorinated. Our legs were itching from the water.
People like to smoke right outside the side doors, which is annoying.
Windows should be replaced so that some fresh air can be let in. The air quality in the rooms was not healthy. My son was very sick on our last night and the low-quality or non- functioning bathroom fans were not helping him.
If corporate is reading this review, please help this location out. It needs it. Best Western used to be a good reliable lodging place. Not so much anymore.
One of the front desk ladies said she'd give us a discount, but it was not reflected on the...
