Zephyr Lodge — Hotel in Contiguous United States

Zephyr lodge is set on beautiful Liberty Lake but we had several issues with this venue...

1. When we arrived, there were not any markings for where or where not to drive. My father-in-law drove down to the front steps to unload his vehicle. When he turned around to drive back up the driveway, his truck left tire marks in the dirt. We were later informed that there was new grass seed in that area and to not drive there. We respected the request and didn't return to the area. When our deposit check was returned, there was a $50 damage fee deducted from it stating "tire damage". I understand a fee should be collected for "damage" but there was nothing marked off when we arrived stating there was fresh seed and to stay off. It actually looked like a dirty, weedy mess. In our opinion, we didn't damage anything.
2. Our 1st night there, the venue was actually double booked so our family reunion got to enjoy about 100 other guests camping in the grassy area right down from us. We had brought our personal Kegerator from home and had to go cover it up with beach towels because people kept walking by it and checking it out. Our dogs were constantly barking because of people walking by continually. The owner even actually approached us by the end of our stay and asked if we would leave our kegerator for another event he had coming up the following week! Needless to say, we did not leave it behind.
3. Very few windows had screens on them and we were there in the middle of July. Of the 5 windows in our room, 1 had a screen and with the bugs outside we were not able to open the windows & extremely hot at night. Thankfully we were able to run home and grab our personal fans to try to make sleeping better.
4. When we were shown the property, we were shown several large propane Bbq's that we were told would be available for our use. When we arrived, the propane Bbq's were not there anymore and only an old charcoal bbq was left. Several of our family members had planned on using the grills for dinners so we had to drive back into town to purchase lighter fluid and briquettes.
5. The interior was not very clean. There were cobwebs all along the walls & ceilings that were filled with little black bugs.
6. The entire time we were at the lodge, there was continuous landscaping work going on all around us. Their time clock is located in the kitchen so the crew was constantly in and out while we were trying to cook for our families. We actually had a crew member ask us if he could have some of OUR coffee one morning.
7. The owner was around almost daily and brought his dog with him. We had our dogs with us which made them very agitated to have a large bull dog wandering around. We were actually afraid there might be a dog fight. Truthfully, we felt very uncomfortable our entire stay at Zephyr Lodge. The owner made us feel like he was hovering and watching us all the time. We felt like we were intruding in someone's personal home. The only reason I gave this venue any stars was because it was wonderful to have a week with our family, but I caution anyone on using this venue for any event where things need to be precise and and where the staff/owner needs to be helpful and accommodating. Thankfully this was for a family reunion. I can't imagine the headache I'd have if it had...

The only positive about this venue is the beauty. Truly every thing that could have gone wrong with the venue and staff did. First, they changed coordinators half way through our wedding planning and did not have any of our information we had discussed with the prior coordinator. They told us the price would only increase by $500 from the previous year when indeed it increased $13,000. They then tried to justify the price increase by saying they were building a barn that we could use. Every time we checked in on the progress of the barn, they made excuses as to why it wasn’t ready. After 2 years of wedding planning and waiting on a barn, it was never built. Then they tried to claim that the price increase was just a yearly thing and they never promised a barn. They said we would have the space the whole weekend unbothered yet they hovered around all weekend long. They told us we could remove the ugly wedding alter, so we planned with our florist a different alter and 1 week before the wedding they refused to remove it. I had to search my email receipts from a year prior to prove they said they’d remove it. From the jump of arriving on site, they were rude and not at all congratulatory to us. It was as if we were an inconvenience to them even though we were spending 20,000 to rent this space. In regard to the space, there was cold water for showers in the outdoor cabins. They also were covered in pollen and not cleaned. Inside of the lodge, there were not nearly enough towels for 60 guests which they assure you there will be. No toilet paper, no shampoo and other shower supplies, no hair dryer. And no plug in in the bride and groom suite restroom. I had to do my hair on the floor knelt by a mirror. Outside, there was a boat docked that they promised would be moved for our whole day. They moved it after the ceremony for 1 hour. It is in our ceremony photos and our sunset photos. I could truly go on and on about how these people made the happiest day of our lives so beyond stressful. This was a beautiful venue that can fit a huge party and that’s really the only good. They are cash grabbing and not making this...

Zephyr Lodge was a fantastic wedding venue. We had our reception there in May 2025, and it was exactly what we were hoping for. We were going for an "adult summer camp" vibe, and it totally delivered! While we were on-site, Scott was helpful, accommodating, and responsive. He helped with several last-minute requests and went above and beyond, including installing AC units in the lodge rooms on short notice when the weather turned out to be much hotter than expected (thank you!). They even stocked some hairdryers for guest use based on our suggestion, which was a thoughtful touch. We loved having exclusive access to the property for the whole weekend—it made the experience feel relaxed, special, and totally our own. During the ceremony, we even got a special sighting of a bald eagle! Additionally, they are putting a lot of effort into improving the venue. We were able to use the newest addition to their property, which was a barn down by the reception site which made bathroom and vendor logistics a breeze. There is also a new premium accommodation option right by the lake that wasn’t quite ready for us but seems incredible! Overall, I’d highly recommend Zephyr Lodge if you’re looking for a rustic, outdoor, lakeside venue with incredible views, a peaceful atmosphere, and...
