For the record: I have been to nicer hotels during the Arab Spring. Some of those hotels had artillery shells in them, but the security was still better. The hotel is fairly far from anything. Coming form the turnpike, you are looking at about 10 miles of dark two-lane country roads, with plenty of deer to hit. ||||The hotel is very dark. The woman at the front desk was nice, but as soon as you walk into the lobby, you sort of know how this is going to go. It was a business trip, and I was bit surprised that she said "okay, we already charged the card before you arrived..." That was big red-flag.||||The door's left much to be desired, the locks and gaps in the door were a glaring problem. The room was (again) dark. It was slightly brighter than the hallway, but not by much. The AC/Heating unit was not working properly. It sounded like it wanted someone to put it out of its misery. Yes, the rooms are dated, the bed was uncomfortable for the few seconds I sat on it, so I could look up another hotel to stay at. And yes, the TV's are Dish, and old-school tube TV'S, but I don't care about that. Those things are rather trivial, given the price. The room was dingy at best. There was a roach immediately upon opening the bathroom door. But what made me leave was when I checked the AC/Heating unit, I decided I would just unplug it and deal with the weather for the night. I'm always prepared anyway. When I looked under the unit to unplug it, the socket had clear burn marks...I decided not to touch it.||||I was polite, but informed the nice woman at the desk that the room was unacceptable. She offered an alternative room, and was polite, but its obvious she has had to hear this many, many, many, times. I informed her of the burn marks, and said I would not be staying at the hotel. She said the manger was not in at the moment, but its clearly a family run hotel, so the manager must be related somehow. ||||My company made the reservations, so it was on a company card. Since this just happened a few hours ago. I will have to update if I am not given a full refund, but after reading the other reviews, it would appear as though voices may have to be raised.||||I left and drove the 10 miles back to the cluster of equally priced, chain-hotels, closer to the turnpike, where at least I'm comfortable, there are plenty of food options, and the internet is strong enough to write use the internet and write this review. ||Just save yourself the aggravation, don't bother, unless you are really into...
Read moreMy husband and I booked a room for a two night stay while visiting friends at a nearby campground. We did not expect luxurious accommodations for the price, but this place should not be in business.|The room was dark and dingy. One lamp worked, the other was at an outlet that did not work. The other working outlet had the tv, cable box, microwave and refrigerator plugged into it. The carpet was old and dirty.|The bed was made with two top sheets (no fitted sheet on bottom).||One of the two lights in the bathroom was not working. Bathroom and fixtures looked like they were circa 1950. Bathroom had dust and dirt in all the corners. I have used rags that were in better condition than the bath towels there. No hand towels or wash cloths were provided. Room was not serviced: wet bath towels were not replaced after first night. I guess that's why there was a coin operated washer and dryer in the ice machine/vending machine room.||Room had two entrances, one to motel hallway and one to outside. A car was parked in front of our outside door for both days. It never moved (disabled?). This meant that the occupants of the room beside us parked in front of their room, and those in the next two rooms did the same which meant we had to park far away from our room. Why there were this many people at a place like this was beyond me. Never again! We only stuck it out because we were visiting friends at their campground. When we were at their trailer, it was like being at a 5 star hotel compared to this place!||I don't even feel this place rates any stars, but apparently have to in order to submit...
Read moreFirst of all the the carpets were gross. I didn't even want my dog to sleep in them, I wanted to cancel but when I booked it it said non refundable SMS I was super tired. So I laid down. I listed the covers and the sheets were stained I'm on side of the bed. So I laid in the other side. The y try v is from the 80's. But they did have DISH. So I watched tv and fell asleep. I didn't bring anything into the room because it was gross. So I'm the morning i I figured id shower the bathroom was fairly clean. It has a retro look. But when I went to shower the water Disney work. So I Left a note at the front desk. She called me back and I explained that I didn't even shower because I had to go to work. Which was like 45minutes away and I still had to get to a gym to shower. But the end of the conversation she was screaming at me in the phone like I was one of many children running around at this motel.. because they lived there. She also said that this wash one of their very nice rooms? What? I walked my dog C and there were potholes all in the back and lines 6 mattresses stacked against the building. I mean I wasn't expecting much but I was expecting the shower to sit least work! At any rate this ended with me calling the building code people! They are in multiple violations and I don't know who governs motels but they should have to comply with the same regulations as air bnbs do. It was Horrible the door jams were busted out. I actually felt like No try man was going to show up. Needless to say I didn't sleep...
