We stayed one night at Hitching Post Country Motel while passing through the area with our dog. Room was small but clean and comfortable and the bathroom was fine. WiFi worked in the evening but was out in the morning. The location is nice, very close to Kent Falls and the covered bridge. There was country store next door to get breakfast from. Nothing fancy here, but it was a dog friendly room and fine for one night. Wouldn't want to stay here for an extended time.

The motel has the bare minimum that you need, but it is clean and the only choice in the area. The room has AC, fridge, TV, microwave. There is no way to get coffee at the motel, but the West Cornwall Market has great breakfasts just a 5 minute walk away. If you need coffee before 8 AM, the Citgo Station has the best fresh ground coffee in the area , 10 minute walk.

So you can check other reviews I've written and none are close to this. I'll start with the good. Owner or Manager seems to care...maybe.||So starting with check in-manager perhaps the owner said for cash, he would pay our tax. Okay so into his pocket the cash goes, I doubt that's making the business report and taxes for CT. Next up the electronic key to door does not work, manager blames Chinese locks, we get a new key after he lets us in with his master (I check it before our departure out for the evening and it does not work, back to get another key). The door to bathroom is hard to open as the floor is warped so you have to pull hard to get it open. Dirty light switch as you come in the door, dirty window sills (like have not been cleaned all Summer perhaps), dusty TV/DVD player, whiskers in the sink (not mine), light on side of bed not working (switch broken), handle to dresser not fully attached. Most of these I can be disappointed with and cumulatively they are concerning. Final straw was actually plastic trash in bed! Yep no way that bed had clean sheets put on!! Now if it had been earlier in the evening I found the last one, I would have made a change immediately, but due to the hour we just slept on top of the bed in clothes and called it a learning experience. Upon check out I shared my findings with the same manager who said "okay, thanks" That was going to be it, until while walking out amazed that he didn't want to do anything more for us I asked him if he thought the $150 for the night was the right price for someone to pay for this? He then chased down his wallet and gave...

We were looking for a basic motel to stay in as we section hiked the CT AT. This suited our needs perfectly. To be honest, we were concerned because there are some negative reviews but all the other lodging options in the area are quite expensive. What we experienced: the rooms are clean, the air conditioning works very well and the beds are very comfortable. But also, the rooms are very small (it's an old motel) with a small bathroom that has a small staff shower. The sink is outside the bathroom in an old large closet that has the doors removed. The rooms have large TVs, large size dorm refrigerators and there is wifi. We did encounter some problems (shower knob was loose and did not work, sink was not draining, wifi was not working) but the owners were very responsive when we told them and took care of things for us. We spent five nights there, having to switch rooms for the last two nights as they could not get the sink un-clogged. This motel worked out very well for our needs, in spite of the problems. The owners were kind, friendly, and helpful. The motel seems overpriced but when you see how much more expensive the rooms are at other area lodging the prices make sense. I would recommend booking directly with the motel by calling them rather than booking from an outside source - the price is the same. They do have a limited discount which they will explain if you ask...

Literally scary… I stayed here during Thanksgiving weekend 2024. My water pump went kaput and I had no water. All the local hotels were booked. He charged $150 a night due to the holiday. The bed was situated diagonally in the room because the room was too small to fit it, So I had to walk sideways to get to the bathroom. Speaking of, as tiny as one could imagine. I was unable to reach all of my body parts to wash them in the shower. It was so small. On the “ceiling“ of the shower stall there were so many cobwebs hanging down that they touched my hair so I was crouched down, trying to avoid the cobwebs and trying to reach my legs to wash them. There was some kind of bug that had built its nest on the headboard that I did ask them to come and remove. My bad did not have an My bed did not have a mattress pad on it. Hi Otherwise, the owner could be described as less than interested in his guests comfort overall. How anybody would find this to be a 5 star location.. and I am not being sarcastic here… I simply cannot comprehend. This place is a complete...
