This is really one of the top 10 places I've stayed since beginning my travels in July 2023. It's beautiful and yes I have a view of the lake through the trees. My site only had electric hookup but I came in with a full water tank, empty black tank and full propane. There is a firepit and picnic table. There's very few people here so it's extremely quiet which is perfect for me and my fur babies. The camp hosts are amazing. There is a dump station here so you can dump your tanks when leaving or if staying an extended time you can easily access the dump station. That's a bathhouse near the sites in Dogwood Loop but I am fully self- contained so I don't use it. I have TMobile cell and internet service and it has worked remarkably well here. I've had 4-5 bars on my cell at all times. They're are hiking trails that I hear are wonderful but I don't hike, health reasons, but I understand they are fantastic. I have a senior park pass so my entire 7 day stay was only $70 which is incredible. A full week here cost me less than a day rate at a mid-range RV campground and it's so much nicer. Of course if you are looking for "resort" stays and amenities you probably wouldn't want to stay here. There appears to be sites here that could accommodate those mini McMansions on wheels but you probably wouldn't like it here. I have a 31 foot motorhome with a slide out and it's easily accommodated. The site in in is completely level without any extra levelers needed. So if you want nature, quiet, tree shared sites near a lake this is the...
Read moreNice quiet get away. An absolute amazing place to relax. The park offers an amazing adventure for anyone seeking outdoor activities. A designated swimming area, good fishing, hiking trails, and camping for anyone wanting to stay the night. The day use area is full of picnic tables and grills. The grounds are well kept and maintained. Restrooms and bath houses are clean. The bath house closest to my campground had individual rooms instead of having stalls for your privacy; it was like having your own personal bathroom. The scenery is very beautiful and with a nice fishing lake that welcomes kayaks and boats it is easy to loose yourself here. If I had to find anything to complain about here it would be that I wished they would allow the underbrush to grow between the campsites to allow for more privacy and a better connection to nature. However, the campsite are spacious and you don't feel like fellow campers are staying on top of you. This is definitely my top pick...
Read moreOverall: Beautiful and laid out in a way that gives you nice space! We came in November so can't speak to the swimming. We did fish, but had no luck. Our kids brought bikes which they enjoyed using on the roads around the grounds.
Site: We stayed for 2 night at a tent camping site. We didn't have anyone staying at the adjacent sites, but found it well laid out with good spacing.
Restrooms: The restrooms were cleaned regularly, but are placed in the mobile home area for some reason so it's a short hike (est. 3-6 minutes) from the tent camping sites. The main building on the fishing/swimming side of the lake is closed for renovations, which was a headache. Hopefully those will be back by the busy season!
Hiking: As this is a smaller campground there aren't any longer hiking trails, but the couple of short ones on site are pretty and very easy,...
