Hollywood Motel — Hotel in Crossett

I stayed at Hollywood motel for two nights. I reserved the room through Expedia I even have the confirmation email. Upon arrival the clerk Eddie, said he has no reservations for me that he never received anything from Expedia.Also the no vacancy sign was in the window and states he doesn’t have any rooms available. It was 9 pm I had driven 5 hrs, told him I was going to work tomorrow in the area. He looked at his list a couple of times then said I have a room waiting for maintenance tomorrow for a leaky faucet, there is nothing wrong with the room just the faucet. We talked about my safety since I’m a female traveling alone, he felt sure I would be safe, the room was not far from the front desk. He walked me to the room. Now about the room,it wasn’t the Hilton but I wasn’t expecting the Hilton, it was clean even though it was not supposed to be available. Good water pressure, clean towels, soap, clean microwave and refrigerator. TV in good working order with remote & cable. Never saw bugs (and you know I checked). Very quiet, no noise, zero from the adjoining rooms, no doors closing etc. The only problem I had was smoke coming into my room from the other rooms( I was in a smoking room because it was the only one left. Eddie promised me a much nicer non smoking room when I return. He was such a pleasant gentleman. Thank you Eddie for taking such good care of my needs. I really...

Some friends and I were traveling to a buddy's funeral and we stopped here to spend the two nights we were in town. Where to begin?||||The night manager was asleep when we went to check in.||||The room looked like it was straight out of the movie "Vacancy", I really felt as if we were going to be murdered in the middle of the night.||||The smoke detector had been ripped out of the wall. The wires were exposed and protruding from the wall.||||The heater didn't work (In January).||||The beds were very hard and you could feel the springs poking through.||||The bathroom door had to be forced closed, and it was hard to open.||||Worst of all, there were cockroaches. We left after just a few hours and the desk worker refused to give a refund for the next night. We had to threaten them with the health department, then they complied.||||DO NOT stay here. Nasty, smells funny, and you'll find yourself roommates...

I got in super late well after normal check in time which most of your big chain hotels scoff at but the owner was super accommodating and has an amazing sense of humor. I told him I had a rough day and he asked me to tell him about it and he listened and offered kind advice! The room was clean, the bed was fluffy and comfortable, there's a fridge and microwave in the room which I didn't get at motel 6 in Kansas city and I paid nearly double for the motel 6. The rates are a steal and the owner is literally the nicest guy I've ever met. Plus I'm a smoker and he allows smoking on the property and in the rooms which none of your big chain places do anymore. If you are in this area I highly recommend the Hollywood Motel just for the managements sense of humor alone, everything else is a bonus. 10/10...
