Spirit Water Inn — Hotel in Crow Hill District

“THE MOST EXTREME DIVE WE HAVE EVER SEEN.” DO NOT BE FOOLED....this place looks NOTHING like the pictures. Clearly some of these reviews have been made by friends and not customers as no one in their right mind would give this place 5 stars. This place was so misrepresented that we could not even stay in our cabin. We booked well in advance and when we arrived at 5:30 pm, after driving for 11 hours we found that the cabin was not ready. We had unloaded our vehicle outside the door expecting it to be ready for us to occupy. We waited outside for 1 1/2 hours (not even kidding) for the cleaning lady to be done, during which time it rained on us and our belongings while we stood outside. When we were finally able to go in and have a good look around we were met by such a strong stench of bleach and cleaning chemicals that it was had to breath and I had a headache almost instantly. We could not open the window to let the stench out because there was no screen, the TV did not work, the fridge did not work and the air conditioner did not work either. There were stains on the throw carpets covering the painted concrete floors and there were centipedes and some other unknown bugs crawling on the floors. We tried to make the best of it and stay but we only lasted 15 minutes after the supposed cleaning lady finished, it was just so DISGUSTING that we packed up and left, and while the cabins are pet friendly, it was not good enough even for our dog. Oh and to let you know how bad they felt about deceiving us and taking our money for this complete lie of a cabin and uninhabitable accommodations, we were NOT even given our money...

I agree with the second review "Shockingly Misrepresented is right" this place needs a lot of work. Some light switches worked, luke warm water to shower, no paper towels or trash bags, and table cloth which was on the main head table was filthy. When I booked the place two weeks in advance and was quoted a price and never got a confirmation e-mail from Steve. He stated he doesn't know how to run a computer and that a woman was going to help him out and get it done. He called three days prior to our arrival being that I was firm that morning on the phone leaving him a message on his answering machine. He then spoke to my husband that evening and quoted him a price. Upon check out which we stayed only two night and Steve wanted us to stay longer we were charged $175.00 more per night. Steve was unwilling to hold to his original promise and he kept small talking my husband and ignoring the problem at hand. Business is business and when you quote someone a price you should stay firm in it. We will never come back to this resort again and wish Steve well because he's over his head in caring for this resort. Comes on being a nice...
