Terrible experience. My sister got married here. To start they asked guests to park in a HORSE field. YES a muddy horse field. PLEASE bring your mud boots and be prepared to detail your vehicle after. This parking area was filled with manure they neglected to even attempt to clean up. We had elderly grandparents and parents slipping and struggling to make it. The worst part of the evening was the staff. Unfortunately they were extremely opinionated and constantly second guessed or comented on everything the bride did or how she wanted things laid out. This is the last thing a bride or wedding party needs from a venue.

They had little remorse about embarising the bride, they had her in tears. You plan for everything for these weddings, the last thing you expect is the VENUE to try and take control of your wedding and ruin the night.

Constance Tarbox from Battlefield BB decided to "surpervise" the ceremony. She had a smug attitude and was extremely unprofessional. She was looking for a reason to leave early or ruin this day. From the beggining...We had payed for our own alcohol and bar tending services. We even purchased an insurance policy based on the venues instructions to have the alcohol on the property. They wanted this to release them from liability. Ok no problem. We have email confirmation this was good to go.They watched as we and the bartender stocked the bar area. We began the evening. After about an hour into our alotted time they then instructed that we were only allowed to have two signature cocktails. We questioned this but didnt want to ruin the day as the bride was just now getting ready to walk down the isle. (worst timing imaginable). It makes little sense as the venue was not supplying ANY FOOD OR DRINKS. and are relieved of ANY LIABILITY. Why should they care if we had two signature cocktails or three or five? It was very petty. We delt with this though and kept the evening moving. Around 830, with almost an hour and half left the venue shut the bar down. NOT THE BARTENDER. The bartender was shocked and could not understand why or what was happening. The venues surpervisor Constance Tarbox, advised they decided to shut the bar down at 830 based on accusations that shots were being poured. Unfortunately this was not true. (even if there was ITS A WEDDING !!! ) despite this it was confirmed by the bartender that evening, Heather, no shots were poured.

This place will look for any reason to shut your special day down. They may be a decent bed a breakfast but a terrible wedding or party venue.

A few key things..

Be extremely careful as to what you sign up for they will verbally tell you something then completely change the HOUR of the wedding as the bride is getting ready.

DO NOT BOOK this venue if you intend on having any resemblance of a traditional wedding reception. They will not let this happen. According to Florence March, the manager, it is a quiet bed and breakfast and they like to keep it that way. (why host wedding receptions then?) They had their hostess Ms Tarbox standing over the bartender observing every pour. Even the bartender said she had never seen anything like this and was extremely uncomfortable.

I hate to say this but the facilties were not up to par. They had sketchy christmas style lights strung up. Dance floor was uneven and loose in areas making it very difficult to walk let alone dance. It is a very cute concept but this place needs better safety and to be more closesly monitored. They had to keep everything covered with tarps until a few minutes before the wedding, this was because of the birds in the barn pooping all over everything in the area. ( not sure how it was ok to serve food or drinks around that ??)

4.Please find another venue. There are so many nice venues in the area !! Stay away from this one.

Again it may be a cute bed and breakfast but that is all this place should handle. They are not the wedding venue they present themselves to be and if they arent going to change they shouldnt be hosting...

Where do I even begin?! Well, sit back, get a cuppa and relax - this is going to take some time! October 1st-October 5th - the weekend of my daughter's long awaited wedding. The whole family - even my two daughter's from California and Nevada flew in - we're all at this inn. We took over. Every room. At first everyone was "omg - we're all a minimum of 3.5 hours away - WHY!!!" then we got there. Well, I'll back up - as Mother of the Bride I had alot of work on this wedding, and Connie was my first contact here. She made everything perfect from the onset. My husband and i visited about 3 week before the big day to lock down decorations and such with Connie in the amazing barn. She made us feel welcome and was so incredibly helpful. We truly left with a feeling of control where before I was just frazzled. I knew she understood my vision for the decorations and would do everything she could to make it happen. We family started pouring in for the weekend and I think we overwhelmed JD! lol Now....what an amazing location and place they have! Nestled away from the road you feel like you've entered another time. It's peaceful - oh so peaceful. The house itself is a magical place as well, with rooms tucked through this door past the games to up one of the two staircases to behind that door off the parlor to down the stairs through the solarium! The stairs leading down from the solarium held two rooms. Anna's Garden room - which not only was the room my older daughter and her family stayed, but the scene of the bridal prep suite for the bride's girls. The other is Houghtelin Hideaway Room - wow! this was our room. While not technically an "old" part of the house structure, it oozed aged refinement. A large king bed was the highlight with the most comfortable mattress I have ever slept in! I seriously need to know what it was - I peeked under the sheets and did see a foam topper, but that couldn't be the whole secret! A big 1920's oak 'set-back" dresser gave ample room to put our clothes away. smart lamps on either side of the bed lent some modern convenience with usb ports, plugs and such. A beautiful vanity sat as use for either a desk or vanity with a large mirror over. There is also a bench with a large mirror over - plenty of "getting ready" mirrors. A closet with overhead light helped to hold out garments bags, with hooks set extra high for gowns and such. The other side of the room held a huge leather sofa that you just sink into! Chairs and tables allow this area to be a nice conversation nook. The bathroom was a masterpiece in itself! A huge walk in stone shower with both a hand-held wall mounted spray as well as a overhead rain shower head. They also supply shampoo, conditioner and shower gel in a wall mounted dispenser and there is a wall nook in the shower for your toiletries. The enormous soaking tub was well used by myself three times! What a joy after all the wedding work! It takes quite some time to fill, but is worth it. With unlimited hot water, filling it with warm water isn't an issue. The vanity was well lit with so much room for things underneath with open shelves. The bathroom had more lighting options that i could keep track of! lol A door out of the room at back led to a small patio area with a table and chairs and a path that leads directly to the wedding garden. Everyone there did everything possible to make my daughter's wedding weekend a magical event, and I truly hope we didn't overwhelm them too much! Kindness and seeming joy at working with us were the overall take aways from us all. Right to the moment we pulled out on Sunday morning, watching the house fade in the mirrors behinds us - we knew we would be back again and again. This place felt like home. And one last - if you are holding an even there is none better than Connie to help you! She is an amazing, helpful, joy-filled, exuberant, AWESOMEDANCER, of an event coordinator!! (see my full...

I can't recommend enough the Battlefield B&B. I wanted to take my wife to a cozy winter's get-away in Gettysburg to both celebrate her birthday and, as history buffs, engage us in the town's important past. We couldn't have made a better choice. We stayed for two nights and three days at this charming, unique well-run B&B that's perfectly situated minutes from downtown Gettysburg and all of the town's major attractions. We chose this B&B in part because their website says they are a "premiere pet-friendly lodging option," and that's an understatement. The entire staff was so kind and friendly to our pup, providing a seemingly endless supply of special treats (including scrambled eggs when she joined us for breakfast). She had a great time walking with us along the property's beautiful and well-marked hiking trails and playing in the huge, enclosed dog park. We stayed in the stand-alone Tack Room, with its very comfy king size bed and luxurious bathroom. But really it's the people running the B&B that really makes it exceptional. A big shout-out to the affable JD, who greeted us upon our early afternoon arrival and shared the history of the property before showing us to our room. The breakfasts were delicious and there's always free coffee and tea and snacks available in the beautiful main house. For us, the B&B's secret sauce is the free history program given every morning after breakfast by local experts on a wide range of Gettysburg-related topics. On our first morning, Gerry Eak's fascinating illustrated talk was one of many he has prepared, this one about the vital role of the countless civilians who were caught up in the three-day battle. And on our second morning, Stephen Gunlock's talk was presented in full general's uniform with a dozen absolutely fascinating brilliantly-told stories, which continued well after the allotted time; we would have asked him--and he would have loved--to keep going, but we had to check out at the appointed time (though JD never made us feel rushed). We really enjoyed the Inn, which was lovely in winter and from pictures we know that it is stunning in spring, summer and fall. It's only an hour from our home, and with so much to see and do in Gettysburg, we look forward to coming back...
