I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Inn at White Oak in Gettysburg, PA, and I am compelled to share my overwhelmingly positive experience with future travelers. From the moment I arrived, every aspect of my stay exceeded expectations, and I cannot praise this bed and breakfast enough.
To begin with, the overall impression of the Inn at White Oak is nothing short of enchanting. The meticulous attention to detail in the decor is evident throughout the property, creating an atmosphere that is both elegant and welcoming. The commitment to cleanliness was remarkable, ensuring a pristine environment that added to the overall sense of comfort.
During my stay, I had the privilege of lodging in the Commander's Quarters, a decision that undoubtedly enhanced my experience. The view from our window was simply breathtaking, overlooking a serene pond and a picturesque field. Our timing was perfect, as a recent snowfall added a touch of magic to the already idyllic surroundings. One morning, we were delighted to wake up to the sight of deer just outside our window, enhancing the already charming ambiance.
The Commander's Quarters itself was a haven of luxury. The stone fireplace, which we kept lit throughout our stay, added a warm and cozy touch to the room. However, the true showstopper was the bathroom. The copper tub, paired with floor-to-ceiling windows, provided an unparalleled opportunity to soak in the beauty of the surroundings. It became a cherished ritual to spend moments in the tub, enjoying the stunning views.
Breakfast at the Inn at White Oak was a culinary delight. The fruit crepes one morning were a refreshing start, while the French toast served the next day was nothing short of the best I've ever had. The attention to detail in the culinary offerings mirrored the overall commitment to excellence found throughout the inn.
Finally, I must commend the owners, Shiree and Craig, for their exceptional hospitality. Their thoughtfulness and kindness were evident in every aspect of our stay. It's clear that they invest a tremendous amount of effort and care into the inn, and their passion for providing an exceptional experience shines through. Their commitment to ensuring guests feel welcome and cherished is truly commendable.
In conclusion, my stay at the Inn at White Oak was nothing short of magical. I wholeheartedly recommend this bed and breakfast to anyone seeking a memorable and delightful getaway. Shiree and Craig have created a haven of luxury and warmth that sets the Inn at White Oak apart. My gratitude to them for making my stay truly unforgettable.

Read moreMy husband and I celebrate our birthdays at a Bed and Breakfast each February. And we both agree that the Inn at White Oak has topped the competition, by far. I've been trying to book the Commanders Quarters Room for two years. While the room was not available during our actual birthdays, it was available THIS year during the month of February. Needless to say, I booked the room immediately. (Even though it was during the Super Bowl:)) The Commanders Quarters Room left nothing to be desired. From the expansive views of the beautiful ground, the lovely floor to ceiling stone fireplace, the spacious king size bed, with plush linens, windows everywhere, even from the hexagon copper soaking tub for TWO! I used the plush robe to run to the heated pool and didn't want to take it off, it was that soft. The heated pool was such a delight with fireplaces on each end. WOW! When we arrived Shiree and Craig gave us a tour of the Inn. With all the fireplaces roaring, and the beautiful decorations, the Inn felt magical. There's even a fireplace in the kitchen! Wait til you see the Tea Room, absolutely adorable. Our room was spotless. The breakfast was to LIVE for. The views from the dining room table appeared straight out of a hallmark movie. We can't say enough about the Inn at White Oak and what Craig and Shiree have done. The Inn is gorgeous, inside and out. Be sure to walk the trail in the back of the property. There's even a bench to sit and take in the views. They've thought of everything. Everywhere you look there's another opportunity to take beautiful pictures of shared memories. When we arrived we felt welcomed, but I must say when it was time to leave, we felt like we were leaving family. Thank you Shiree and Craig for opening up your home allowing strangers to become friends. We will...
Read moreThe Inn at White Oak is such a hidden gem that I almost don’t want to tell anyone about it for fear that it’ll be tougher to book in the future! The owners have created an oasis of relaxation, indulgence, and tranquility just minutes away from Gettysburg. My partner and I were absolutely stunned by the entire property - the inn itself, our room, and the lush grounds. We stayed in the Barndominium room, which is a standalone renovated barn that’s maybe a 20-second walk to the main inn. It allowed us much privacy while still being close to anything we could need on the property, making it absolutely perfect for a couple looking for a private romantic getaway. We strolled the grounds at sunset and had drinks while watching a herd of deer play in the meadow & koi fish swim in the pond in front of the bench we nestled into… the most amazing part being the complete privacy we had, despite the inn being fully booked with other guests!||Upon check-in, we were greeted by Shiree & Craig (they’re absolutely lovely!), then he gave us a tour of the inn, grounds nearby the main building, and walked us to our room. Everything was immaculately clean, well-appointed, and there were so many thoughtful, small touches that made us feel like we were at home. Don’t miss out on this room - the gas fireplace and leather sofa downstairs, as well as the king-size sleep number bed and (very!) deep soaking tub for two upstairs felt almost sinfully indulgent. It was topped off by the “breakfast in bed” package, which was a very tasty hot breakfast, juice, and coffee delivered to our front door.||We’re already trying to figure out when we can return and stay for a few nights during our next visit instead of just one! Many thanks to Shiree & Craig for a...
