Me and my husband had been planning for almost 5 years to go here being that it is a little pricey, but we felt like it was worth it to give it a try. We drove three hours from home to get there through horrible traffic, which made us late. We were supposed to check in at four and did not check in until 630 which had nothing to do with the company so I understand, only making that statement so that everyone is aware about the horrible traffic so you may want to leave super early to make it there on time. we booked the stay for my 39th birthday and upon entering everything seemed perfect. They even put a happy birthday note on the mirror for me.We were in the room less than three hours and had not yet started drinking. My husband had just poured me a mimosa that I had not even taken a sip of when I slipped and fell on the inside side of the pool. Just an FYI, me and my husband stood there and read the rules to the pool so he went back upstairs to put my mimosa in a Styrofoam cup instead of the champagne glass that I had. We were trying to follow the rules and take all precautions necessary to be safe. After reading the rules, we turned off the sconces, and I went into the sauna first. After leaving the sauna, I took a few steps to get into the pool, which is where the incident happened. The gravel on the outside of the pool is not leveled and I take full accountability for not holding onto the rail. However, the rail is also crooked so I just tried stepping in the pool on my own, which was not smart or safe. The front desk staff were very nice and attentive when I called to let them know of the situation. The gentleman that answered the phone even came after I asked for him to come and help my husband get me down the stairs to go to the hospital. I was in excruciating pain so my husband had to drive but has no license. Left the hospital after 12 they did x-rays thank God nothing was broken, but I had contusion to the left side of my ribs and my chest. Upon coming back from the hospital And entering the room, I did notice that the carpet was dirty while my husband was helping me take off of my clothes, being that I was looking down at the ground I guess is when I noticed. I called front desk to let them know that we were just getting back and that I was wondering if I could potentially pay for an extra day being that the first day we weren’t in the room at all. I was told from a young lady at the front desk that I would have to call the next morning and talk to the manager, Michelle. I also informed them that we had a couples massage set up for the next day that I would have to cancel due to my pain and she informed me she would get it taken care of.The next morning we had to go out to get my prescriptions filled and noticed how difficult it would be to continue our stay with my pain and having to go up and down the stairs. Besides, it was impossible for me to enjoy any of the amenities due to me being injured. therefore, I never called the front desk to check on another day, but I however did get a phone call from the Massage company stating that they would be there to set up, I had to inform them of everything that previously happened and apologized for the late notice. I was informed that my $90 deposit would be kept, which is understandable because people have a business to run. However, I do think in some circumstances That people would just be a little more understanding that things happen sometimes. I explained to her and the front desk in one of our conversations that I have the Hospital proof of me injuring myself, but to no avail did anyone care to see it. We spent a lot of money for this trip, and it was a lot of money wasted, but most importantly, the memories I wanted I will never have. I wasn’t asking for anything free or for any money. I just thought that because of the circumstances they would have reached out to me. The times that I did reach out they were really nice, but no one ever reached out to me. We decided to just stay being that I had to take my...
Read moreWhere to begin: Location: -Leading up to our visit I received four long winded texts from the business asking if I would like to add any additional services or amenities. I received no less than three texts from staff offering the same during the time of our stay. -The Address on google maps will take you to The Place Inc. Organizations parking lot, you must exit and take a right to the next road down to find the property. The Property: -The Lobby is reminiscent of a tacky motel, no, worse because I have stayed at many a budget joint with better ambiance than this doctor's office esque set up.... with $25 Ceran Wrapped "Party Baskets" Consisting of Lays potato chips, Tostitos queso, and plastic display chocolate covered strawberries to select as add on "Amenities." A Bulky FM Radio sits on the same shelf bothering the atmosphere with commercials and nonsensical radio station rabling. -We booked the Grand Royal Swimming Pool Suite and the photos on the website do not accurately portray the layout of the rooms IMO. However, the most alarming, eerie, and unsettling thing about the entire set up is the complete lack of windows in ANY part of the suite, and total lack of interior locks OR safety bolts. Meaning there is no way to secure your room during your stay, and you also cannot leave the doors open to be able to HEAR if someone were to attempt accessing your room, which honestly would not take more than a pocket knife with the quality of the exterior door lock.) Another huge issue was that the building was a single access entry, ZERO fire exits. If a fire were to breakout on the ground floor you would be trapped inside the upper level..... especially with no windows on the entire building.... -This led to us sleeping with one eye open, as the front doors' hallways coincide so any noise from your neighbor could sound like someone attempting to access your rooms. The cherry on top was the in-room fire alarm beginning to sound at 5am due to low battery which sounded every minute or so. We quickly made our exit around 5:30am due to this, and did not look back. -It appears the building structures were originally built as duplexes or something. Upon entry, there is a narrow hallway which dead ends into a heavy door that leads into the pool room on the ground floor. The access to the bedroom/bathroom suite is up a narrow staircase met with another heavy door, (neither can be propped open.) Overall Experience: This seems like an excellent place for customers to use for high discretionary interactions, or escort services, honestly (Which is fine!) The pool was cool, but a Motel 6 has the exact same one for a quarter of the price...Not to mention nicer, safer rooms, imo. Candles that are highly photographed on the website don't turn on. There was hair in the shower drain upon arrival, and the wine glasses were smudged- it seemed housekeeping missed them. You must get your ice bucket/ice from the front desk upon check in, and there is no microwave, coffee maker, or valuables safe in the room. This visit was a one-and-done for us. I recommend skipping this one and spending the same money for a Chateau Elan Suite or other more...
Read moreThis was an odd experience, I’m being generous with 3 stars but this review is truly intended to prepare future guests for what they will experience - which we clearly couldn’t understand prior to going.
My wife and I are traditional style people, this place is VERY modern - if you prefer that style it may be a more comfortable environment to you. On the positive side the staff were extremely friendly and helpful when you need them, I have absolutely nothing negative to say about the people on site - quite the contrary, they are all great.
We wanted a quick overnight trip for just the two of us to unwind and relax, what we found this place to be was more of a 2 story basement/bunker feel for 24 hours of isolation.
When you arrive on site the check in is nice and staff are friendly, you get a garage door opener and a key - then you park in your room which is more of a townhome style setup - as we closed the garage door that is where it gets weird. First of all, the garage door is incredibly loud - so much so that all the connected units can be heard wherever you are inside through the evening and night opening and closing, it’s far from tranquil and when you are asleep it’s jarring. The room has a nice little pool downstairs that is 92 degrees, that is a lukewarm bath temperature - it sounds nice but in reality it’s not warm enough to be enjoyable. The adjacent sauna is the cheapest of infrared units that didn’t heat enough to make either of us sweat... at all. After exiting the pool sauna you walk upstairs to a bedroom/bathroom combo with an open top wall between them - it looks nice at first glance but you’ll quickly find it’s thrown together with cheap materials. The shower isn’t real tile, it’s a form of laminated sheets (the website claims it to be marble shower, that is not true).
Almost none of the rooms power outlets are functional and in front of the bed you have a fake led fireplace. The room has no window or natural light, just a fake curtain for decor - it is very bunker like.
Though it will never be dark because your bedroom and bathroom are combined with the glow of a bright red exit sign, which when accompanied with the rooms creaks and pops/neighboring chain style garage doors makes sleeping peacefully an impossibility.
We had a couples massage from the properties preferred vendor, they were really nice people who did a fantastic job - again, all the people we encountered were great.
Pros: Great concept in theory (not practice) Nice staff Easy location to get in/out
Cons: Overall Build quality Pool/Sauna function Loud garage doors No natural light Impossible to sleep well
To summarize, I wish the above information was available before we invested in this expensive overnight experience. If you are not a discerning individual and just want a 24 hour “love bunker” then this place may be great for you. If you are thinking of an experience like one would find at Old Edwards/Barnsley Gardens/or any traditional style nice places prepare to be extremely disappointed. In my opinion the concept of Belamere is a great one, but the overall execution of this idea is...
