My family and I were in town for our family reunion and Econo Lodge was the closest to our venue in Cuthbret Georgia. I booked and paid for our room in advance and once I got there, I was doubled charged and was promised to get reimbursed by Monday and I have yet to receive my refund of $148.54. Not only was I doubled charged but my aunt was doubled charged as well. We were assigned room 216 and as we walked into the room it was filled with strong cigarette smell throughout the room. Marijuana smoking was going on down the hall where it was so strong. I have asthma as well as my son and so it was not acceptable. Not only that but the smoke detector was hanging from the ceiling, NO light bulbs for the light, the bedspreads had cigarette holes on both beds, the towels were NASTY with black streaks/spots in them (I had to request more towels and face towels). The bathtub looked awful with looks like dry soapsuds and dirt. When I go to the front desk to complain about the filth and was not offered another room but an have empty bottle of disinfectant spray and the manager stated maybe that can help the smell. Really? No professionalism at all. The front desk clerk was helping as much as she could being with an injured arm. The only solution he gave me was: "I can cancel the room" So I asked him where can we go since we are out of town and he said nothing! We literally had to go to the gas station to get cleaning supplies and air freshener to clean a room that was not prepared but I was charged for not once but twice. I am very dissatisfied in the managers customer service and very upset that my refund has not been given back as promised. So, I will be calling that property, and I will be expecting my refund expeditiously because the same way they I paid for the room and got confirmation of payment and then come in to have my card charged again matter of fact $10.00 more and have to wait 4 to 5 days and still have not received it is unacceptable. I will also be reporting this Econo Lodge to the Better Business Bureau. I expect a resolution to this issue immediately.

Read moreChecking in to this hotel on Friday, November 3, 2017; I was advised that the room keys are not working and I would have to be let into my room when needed due to there has been an lock issue which doors can only be manu.opened. Serv. from the desk Clerk Tynesha first night stay. Leaving the rm Saturday morning then returning I went to the front desk to have my room door opened for me. The incorrect room was opened.(By the older associate) I adv the clerk that it was not my room that had been opened. during me & my signifi. other nap during that day 3 additional times OUR rm door was opened in ERROR. Still no complaint. Sunday morning before my check out time I requested and extended check out from the older clerk. She advised me that there would be an $15.00 charge for that. I asked her if it could be waived due to the circumstances of the stay. The clerk began to vent aggressively advising me that her housekeepers are not full time and they don't have 8 hrs days to work. As well as asking me if "I owned everything at my personal job." I advised her that I didn't but if circumstances permit executive decisions could be rightfully made. The clerk advised me that "It was too early for me to be contacting the front desk with that due to she has not slept in 3 days & as well she had to open my door at 3:00 in the morning & she can give me at least 30-45 minutes to get my stuff so that I could go ahead and get out of the rm." By this time I hung up the phone and immediately began to gather my things. During getting ready to leave the clerk came to my room and knocked on the door to go ahead and remove my dirty towels. I advised her how disrespectful that she was as well as whoever the owner of this hotel is should have instructed her that CUSTOMER SERVICE is the business your in and it should always be given regardless of the type of morning that you have. We all have personal jobs that we HAVE to do in order to make a living. This was the worst experice that...
Read moreI booked a room for a two-day stay over the weekend. I arrived to the hotel around 1530 and to my surprise there was nobody at the front desk. There was a sign that said someone would be back in 30 minutes. Another person was already waiting and said it had been an hour since he had seen anyone. Finally, someone showed up with a bag of fast food and apologized. While booking me she said that the room key wouldn't work and she would have to let me into the room anytime that I left. I discussed this with my wife and she then called corporate and the hotel for more clarification. The corporate office said someone would review our complaint in three days. The hotel said the key situation was "weather related" (60 degrees and sunny). The hotel also said someone is available at all times to let me in my room (just experienced the fact that the front desk was unattended for over an hour). The hotel also said no further discount would be applied since we were already getting a "good rate. The hotel also told my wife that she was gone only to assist another guest with a room (I saw with my own eyes that she walked over from church's chicken next door with a bag of fried chicken...and she told me she went to get food). I opted not to stay here and got a full refund. Good luck and...
