The Inn is located out of town just off a busy road. We were the only people staying the night in mid August. We requested Room 1 as it was the farthest from the road and seemed to be the quietest. There was no one around on a Sunday so we had to let ourselves into the room. We have had issues previously with self-entry numerical keypads in different countries so were a bit apprehensive, but fortunately there were no issues entering the room.|The room was spacious and nicely furnished with nice balcony. The main issue was the broken handle on the bathroom door which someone had clearly attempted to fix as the wood around the lock had been chipped away. The door would not close and as it was not hanging level, it swung open. we had to bring a chair from the room to keep the door closed. We contacted the owners who said they would sort it out, although it was hard to understand why this hadn't already been fixed as it was evident there was a problem.||As the property was unattended we were given a code to access the breakfast room to self serve breakfast. We tried the code 3 times on the front door and once on the rear door. No luck. Our issues with keypad locks had returned! As we needed to depart promptly we pondered giving up on breakfast. We reluctantly tried to call the owners but for some reason the call wouldn't connect (we are from overseas). As a last resort we emailed the owners via Booking.com who to their credit responded quickly and advised that we had been given the incorrect code. Frustrating!||When we finally got into the breakfast room the breakfast that had been left for us was worth the perseverance. It contained homemade granola, a bread type pudding, fruit, juice yoghurt, coffee and other treats.||We paid $240 for the room. This is a nice unique property with a great breakfast but the fact that it appears to be totally self-service on certain days, means there is no one to deal with issues on site and we really could have done without the extra hassle. Given the price is equivalent to a Marriott or Hyatt property which provide a full service offering the value for money is...
Read moreThis is our second time visiting Dahlonega for a couples getaway. However this is our first time staying at the Limelight inn. This lodging is definitely a well-kept secret. Not only is it clean, but up-to-date, modern and believe it or not economical. The owners are really gracious and nice. Included is in the stay is a hearty breakfast, we did not leave hungry and it definitely was a savings because we didn't have to spend money on lunch and went straight to a winery. It's not your typical breakfast, it included an egg casserole, granola casserole, fruit salad which consists of blackberries, blueberries, strawberries, pineapple and kiwi, homemade banana bread, coffee, orange juice, water, definitely a hearty breakfast.and more. Everything is cooked on sight. Unfortunately I forgot to take pics of the room but it was beautiful, just like the website pictures, modern, clean and everything you need for a great stay. The clubhouse was really nice inside and out. All in all we enjoyed our stay here and we will be staying here for our next couple's weekend.
7/21/24 - Another great stay at this beautiful inn. We always enjoy coming here for a couple's weekend. The place is neat, clean and relaxing. Everything that you need at your fingertips. We also enjoy the home-cooked breakfast on Sunday mornings, the egg casserole is delicious. The pancakes were moist and fluffy and you have everything available to you, coffee, teas, they spared no expense and providing the best experience for their guests. Whenever we're in Dahlonega this is...
Read moreOur group of 4 friends stayed at the Limelight for three nights 6/4-7 occupying 2 connecting rooms. We were impressed with the beautiful room with a balcony and modern bathroom. The room was spacious and included everything we needed for our stay.
Breakfast: We had the complimentary breakfast Saturday morning in this room. If I remember correctly, there were biscuit and gravy, scrambled eggs, and the usual continental breakfast items. Sunday morning all decided not to go to breakfast because we wanted to do lunch at a winery. To our surprise, Monday morning Melissa left each of us a frittata in the cooler to microwave along with yogurt and fresh berries. Nice touch!
The Hospitality building was very comfortable with tables to eat breakfast as well as sofa and chairs. The outside patio had table and chairs with umbrellas. We had our own happy hour with wine and snacks later in the evening.
During our stay, I believe there were three different weddings and guests spending a night at the inn. There was only one night where guests arrived late (maybe after midnight) and got a little loud.
The location is great! Only a short drive into downtown and close to wineries.
All in all, we enjoyed our stay at the inn and the area. I would definitely recommend Limelight and will stay again if I ever visit...
