Room was as pictured. No carpet which means cleaner. When you tear up your carpet at home there is a TON of dirt that's worked its way down. Think of hotel carpet that still has all the dead skin cells on/in it. Go ahead and puke now.
ALWAYS read amenities before booking. It does NOT say breakfast included. Nor does it say coffee pot in room, hair dryers, shampoo, etc. Pack your own regardless of any hotel you use. Freebies aren't free the hotel includes it in your room rate. Hence Motel 6 has better rates, not all the extras.
I ALWAYS pulls the beds aparts first thing to look for bed bugs on the mattress in any hotels. Including the $500/night in Manhattan. NO bed bugs found. I think another reviewer posted a bad photo of a bug saying its a bed bug. They posted a bad photo because it wasn't even the shape of a bed bug. Know your bugs.
NO ants in the room (104). NO garbage seen anywhere. There was evidence some idiot put metal in the microwave.
We did discover the ice machine was out of order. Easy fix is fast food places, gas stations and stores sell bags of ice. There is a Wendy's close. We put our bottles of water in room freezer, worked great. Dennys is very close.
Our room, linens, shower, microwave and fridge were clean. The air conditioner doesn’t go below a certain temperature even though you can lower the thermostat. 84 degree day we were still comfortable and got cold in the night. We ran the fan all night. It was loud but it blocked out any potential noises, inside or outdoors. Plus my husband's cpap machine! We both slept great, so did our little dog. Firm mattress and 3-4" thick pillows. The only cigarette smoke ever smelled was when a smoker walked in who had been outside smoking.
I would recommend to housekeeping to take a broom to bathroom vents once in awhile to knock out dust collected. But don't let that stop anyone from staying here. Afterall, how many of you clean your bathroom vent at home?
37-42 tv stations. Location of hotel was expected since we looked it up on a map. We were off the highway but surrounded by farmer's fields. Reminded us of the movie "Field of Dreams" (baseball field surrounded by corn stalks). This is a safe area. Free of homeless people hanging out and no drug users.
We think the front desk lady is the manager/owner. She's very nice. We would return if in the area again. West...
Read moreUPDATE: After Motel 6 replied to this review several months later I felt it necessary to update you on my experience. I was afraid to leave it before because I didn’t know if they would keep my money. After I left this review I was forced to leave the hotel and relinquish my room. The Owner said that he didn’t want me staying there because I was so unhappy and I didn’t have a choice but to leave immediately. I called the Motel 6 customer service line and they said there was nothing that they could do because the owner put that I was smoking in the room as the reason for my removal. They couldn’t rush my refund our offer me a stay at another location. They just apologized for inconvenience and hung up. It’s clear that they don’t care how their owners run their hotels. We had nowhere to stay because the hotel had several weeks worth of our money on hold until the remainder of our time could be refunded (5-7 days). We had to sleep in a car because the owner is the worst possible type of human being. He laughed at me at the counter when I expressed how inconvenient and unfair what he was doing was. ——— I paid $400 to stay here for one week. After speaking to other guests I realized the rate was actually only $200 a week. When I called the front desk they told me the extra $200 was because I have a cat with me. But I was never told that this was the reason for the high rate when checking in. I was also made aware that they put me in a room that they knew did not have Wi-Fi. I haven’t had Wi-Fi for three days and and finally called the desk to find out why. She informed me that this room doesn’t have WiFi and I will need to take my stuff up to a room on the second floor. Never occurred to them to fix the issue or at least be honest with guests I suppose. I also haven’t had my room serviced. Apparently if you have a pet you can’t have your room serviced so the trash, dirty towels etc just pile up no matter how long you stay. This place is a dump. Mold in the fridge, excessive amounts of dirt under the tables because they couldn’t bother to sweep under them, and rude...
Read moreThe worst hotel I've ever stayed in my whole life. The beds were very uncomfortable. I was up all night. The sheets on the bed stunk, the pillows were flatter than a pancake, I was itching the whole time I layed in the beds and even have red bumps, so I would say that's a sign of bed bugs. The staff was very rude, especially the general manager, what an unprofessional, hateful, inconsiderate smartellic. No coffee maker and the TV was very small, up too high, and had hardly any channels. The pool wasn't even open like they said it would be. It is closed for the season. I have a feeling they mistreated our dog also, because after we got back to our room he acted very scared. The rules are very ridiculous and the water pressure was horrible. The wifi sucks also, I will never stay at another Motel 6 ever again. The corporation itself has very bad reviews. I'm begging you please stay at the Baymont hotel (formerly Best Western) right across the street. It is well worth the extra $20. It is much cleaner, the staff is much more friendly, the water pressure is good, there are coffee makers in the rooms, the TVs are bigger, have nicer picture, and have more channels, there is an indoor pool and whirlpool, there is breakfest on the main floor, they give you an extra key for free, they are much more pet friendly unlike Motel 6, the view is very nice from the window, the AC works much better, the mini fridge keeps things much cooler, the microwave works better also, the room itself is more up to date, the showers are bigger than the ones at Motel 6, and the showers even have little despensers that have shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. The bathrooms were even cleaner and they give you more towels and the maid service is much better. PLEASE, DO NOT STAY AT MOTEL 6!! I WOULD EVEN GIVE YOU $20 IF I COULD JUST TO STAY RIGHT ACROSS THE STREET JUST SO YOU DON'T HAVE TO EXPERIENCE HOW...
