We went here in the fall for just three nights, and we really enjoyed the stay. There was no one in the office/store when we got there for check-in, and we had to wait around for about half an hour before someone came. The camp sites are pretty close to each other, but I guess most other camp grounds in the area are the same. We were lucky not to have anyone right next to us, because of the off season. Good facilities, dumpsters are conveniently located, and water and pump out stations are decent.

Whoa Nellie! Lots of campsites. But surprisingly, everyone is respectful and well behaved. As anywhere, tent sites are crowded and on top of each other. RVers have the luxury spots. C'est la vie! Lots of walking paths, Lake Erie beach close by, boat ramps, fishing, historical stuff. I didn't plan enough days for sure. Therefore, a return trip must be required.

Huge and amazing state park and campground. Tons of trails, basketball, volleyball, and playgrounds. The only thing that is needed is an update to all the bathrooms. They did not allow much of an early check in. People were sitting in the parking lot not allowed to check in until 2:20 (3:00 is official check in).

If I could give this less than one star I would. I drove an hour and a half to camp at East Harbor, our site was booked weeks in advance, had the email showing it was paid for and our exact site number. When we go to check in, we find out that their computer system screwed up and never took the reservation even though we had the email to prove it!! Sad thing is, another camper came in the same time I was in there and they screwed him over too!! And they didn’t even have the decency to apologize!! They could have at least apologized, offered us another nights stay, something! Not even an apology!! I will NEVER camp there and I would suggest if you don’t want to get screwed over, I’d go down the road to the other nicer...

It's okay. The site's are so small we had to choose to set up tent or have a fire! Literally you don't have enough room to do both.. had the reservation for 3 nights and left after 1. The park itself is beautiful though. People are friendly. However it's not peaceful. It's kinda like a noisy city due to camp sites way too close. Playgrounds are older and not much to offer. Trails and beach nice though, beach was our favorite part..Restrooms were well maintained shower house was so old it was like a hotbox. No ventilation in them made it miserable to shower. Cheap prices though so there is that. Like others shared check in is a nightmare. Definitely need to update. Dogs are...

Nice campground, great shower facilities.....but that's it! Don't trust you won't be ostracized by wildlife officer and campground host. You may be singled out to move your boat or anything that is touching grass. While there may be 5 other boats and non camper trailers all completely on grass within site of ours, we were made to take our small 15 foot boat out to an unprotected parking lot even though there were dozens of boats all throughout the park setting on grass. We were told we could only have everything on the pavement or would be ticketed. This is a great park run by people that are egotistical hypocrits. Come enjoy it if...
