Canyon Breeze Motel — Hotel in Davis

Motel is under construction and what room we were given was frankly horrible. You walk in door and one queen bed to the left and another to the right. Television sits on a small side table with one kitchen type chair. Past bed on right one long coffee table with non sturdy clothes rack. Access to bathroom on this side. Bathroom had ply-board ceiling and shower was in horrible condition. No rugs or mats and no hand towels. Several outlets in room had no covers and some did not hold plugs in. They would fall out. Had a separate kitchen table and small alcove kitchen. Fridge did not work and NO kitchen supplies, utensils, plates, pots, towels, cleaners or coffee maker. Cabinets were misaligned old rustic wooden cabin style. Wi-Fi would never connect but they did have Dish for the TV. Door security was doorknob lock and sliding chain.Not the most secure options. Not really anything good I can say about the motel. Some of the back units looked redone and one corner area was completely falling in. Owner does seems to be trying to improve this motel but really shouldn't rent these rooms until they are updated and safe. Next day was informed they have another area with cabins and a RV area. Moved to a cabin which was 100% better. Still lacking on kitchen and bath supplies with rugs, towels cleaners kitchen stuff but...

I came to the arbuckles to be in the mountains and to go to arbuckle wilderness and Turner falls and do the hiking... canyon breeze is across the street from arbuckle wilderness on the same property as the famous arbuckle fried pies!! Get the bacon egg and cheese they have a vegetarian spinach! Turner falls is not far away. Location location location! This is THE spot! I was searching all of the motels and air bnbs and I wanted to be in the woods for the weekend. Many air bnbs are booked solid. Of all the motels in the area this one is the best. Canyon rock face view... really cool area just to hike around... Tucked away in a scenic area. The cottages are rustic but cozy. Motel in national park vibe. Interior has nice beds nice tv nice kitchen all the stuff you need... 5 out of 5. Totally fabulous!! Go to arbuckle wilderness get 2 of the ten dollar bags of feed and save one for the last half you'll go over the cattle grates half way through it was so fun if you just wanna be in the mountains for a while and be around the animals.. tons of animals!! Awesome! Bring your toys and a couple of strings of Christmas lights and food for the kitchenette and some extension chords...

We booked a cabin with canyon breeze cabins and lodge 1 month ago for the first weekend in August. I just received a phone call from Kim who is apparently now the manager. I was just not very happy when she told me she cancelled our reservation for that weekend because the cabin did not exist. Really!! Now I booked this on travelocity. Now sure how it ended up that the cabin did not exist but either way. I expected her to be very sympathetic and understand my frustration. No instead she hung up on me. Didn’t offer other places in the area that might work for us. Just hung up. I would never go back to this place and I would suggest nobody else needs to either.
