As nice as the attrium looked, I didn't sleep in the attrium. We booked a one bedroom King suite. Our room was short of towels. There were 2 people but only one set of towels. I had to go to the Front desk and asked for towels. When they finally got around to getting them to us, they brought us "1" bath towel, not a full set.
There was no spare roll of bath tissue, no bath mat, no coffee packs for the coffee maker. The refrigerator didn't work, it was running but did not ever cool down inside. Instead it seemed to overheat inside the cabinet it was enclosed within. The coffee makers are cheap and have never had the lime scale removed. The same could be said for the shower door, which had white lime scale all over it. The breakfast offering was a joke. There was no coffee, tea or juice; just a little 8oz bottle of room temperature water, inside the "Grab-N-Go" bag, with an orange and a muffin. The plastic utensils were useless in trying to cut open the orange. And the muffins looked like someone had sat on the bag, distorted and smashed. There was absolutely no protein offered, just high, unhealthy carbs.
A month ago, we stayed in a Best Western only 12 miles away from this hotel. Not only did they have spotless rooms with a full compliment of towels and other amenities, it also had a small, full sized refrigerator, which actually worked. The coffee makers were clean and of a much better quality. AND...they had a full "HOT", complimentary breakfast, as well as "Grab-n-Go", with hard boiled eggs for protein. Granted the room was not a suite. But that room was 44% cheaper per day than what we paid at the Marriott. And it was a more enjoyable stay. Had we known what this place was like, we would have booked the Best Western instead and driven the extra few miles a day to our venue.
We wouldn't board our dog at this hotel. It's all show and nothing of substance. It was a terrible experience and we...
Read moreThe pandemic cutbacks have really made this place inferior to what the Marriott standard used to be. We certainly can get by without daily maid service, however there was one tiny bar of soap for two nights for two people. We had to move it back-and-forth between the shower and the bathroom.
There’s in room coffee to make in the morning, but only enough for one out of two mornings
Both TVs were unplugged, and it took us a few minutes to figure out that we had to plug them in to get them to work.
There was a clock radio, but the buttons to reset the time to the correct time only worked for minutes, but not for the hours. I guess everyone travels with a cell phone, so the clock in the hotel is now superfluous.
The computers were down when we checked in, and they had to take a photo copy of my drivers license and credit card. Of course, they said they would shred it once it was entered, but in this day and age, businesses are not supposed to leave that information visible to employees at any time.
We called the front desk to ask for an hour delay at checkout time, but we still had someone knocking at our door half an hour before the promised checkout time to clean the room.
There is a morning coffee bar downstairs, but on a Sunday morning when it was busy, I had to ask for the cream containers to be refilled. There were no stirring sticks, but I snuck a spoon from the buffet next-door.
We did have a lovely well presented buffet breakfast for a large group.
The room was clean, and almost everything else was in working order, although the shower drained extraordinarily slowly. The room was clean, and everything seemed relatively new and fresh.
Hopefully as pandemic fueled staffing shortages improve, they will be able to undo some of the cuts that they’ve been...
Read moreI honestly expected more from an almost 5 star hotel. The appearance of the hotel upon entering is beautiful. The hotel room was okay. The cabinets had chipping paint, the couch was sunken in and dingy if I’m being honest. The coffee table had wooden chips missing. Coffee maker has rust and white residue on it. Sink had corrosion all over the faucet. Not to mention the phone that looked like it was straight out of the 80’s. The door lock that didn’t work. One bottle of water was $5 and it’s $13 A DAY for wifi. I’ve never in my life stayed at a hotel without free wifi. The pool had bugs and didn’t look like it had been cleaned. The “to-go covid breakfast bags” were a joke. My son and I each took one while going back up to our room and when getting to our room realized all they gave us was an orange, granola bar and half bottle of water. On our way up the elevator REEKED of cleaning supplies because the housekeeper had left all her supplies in the elevator. Dirty black rags, mop buckets various chemical bottles. I had already had issues with this hotel. I booked through hopper and something went wrong and it booked the wrong day. So I called to change my reservation (a 4 day difference) the lady on the phone told me to contact hopper and let them know to cancel the reservation and that the hotel wouldn’t charge me a cancellation fee that way I could just switch my reservation after getting off the phone I contacted hopper they then told me that the hotel told them that they were going to charge me a $96 rebooking fee on top of the $100 I was already paying for the room. I told them to just cancel and that I’d leave a review the hotel then “graciously “ waived the fee and only charged a $8 difference for the day. Was the over hour drive worth it? No. Would I stay...
