Let me explain the "Why" I am giving this hotel a 1 star review.
This is primarily based off my experience with the service, but before we get to that lets discuss the lesser items.
Rooms were alright, definitely a short staffed situation and a rush job for cleaning. My bathroom was still dirty with hairs on the toilet. The hotel was new, but had a spider problem. At night on the 3rd floor there were several wolf spiders running on the walls returning to our room.
The location is in the middle of nowhere really, but they still insisted to monopolize on charging higher hotel rates. I ended up paying 150 before taxes with a corporate discount from my job on a Saturday night.
Now lets talk about the biggest issue. Service/Management.
We were there for a wedding, and lets be honest, our wedding block occupied and filled up this hotel. It started with entering the hotel and not having anyone at the desk for an hour. When we finally started checking in my uncle who was in front of me who paid for a 3 bed room was told his room was not available and stated he could have a 2 bed with a couch instead. He was ok with it if he could have his price discounted, but the lady stated they were still going to charge the same rate. He did not yell, but expressed his displeasure with the results. After sometime he was notified his room was ready and when the front desk lady was going to get his keys the general manager told him he could wait and to sit back down. COMPLETELY UNPROFESSIONAL!
Moving on through the night and into the morning. The complimentary breakfast is at 7-10 AM. My family and I slept in and it wasn't until 9:45 when my boy and I went down to grab some food. When we entered the dining area we were not welcomed with hospitality. Instead the lady in charge greeted us with annoyance. My 8 year old son and I were trying to be quick getting food. We couldn't find the maple syrup for the french toast and even with vocalizing my issue, was offered no solutions. I told my son its fine we can eat them without. I loaded up my plate with food and started to sit down. Immediately the lady told me they are closed and I needed to take my food to my room. I was honestly shocked at how rude she was. I put a smile on and told my son who was clearly confused that were just going to go back to the room and eat with mommy. We went to go grab something to drink which annoyed this lady even more. While we were getting our drink the "General manager" was around the corner and asked if there was sausage left still, and the lady rudely gestured to my son and I and said something along the lines of "No, they took it all". They both sounded annoyed.
Overall, I will NEVER recommend anyone to this hotel. Learn customer hospitality. The general manager should be fired or written up for his rude behavior. The lady who did the food should never work...
Read moreOn May 16, 2025, I called the hotel to inquire about early check-in. The representative stated it might be possible around 1 PM but wasn't guaranteed due to high occupancy, which I understood.
Upon arrival at noon on May 17, 2025, I was informed no rooms were ready. I waited until approximately 2:20 PM when a staff member began checking guests in. After waiting in line, I was told my room wasn't ready and was offered a downgraded room without a price reduction. I declined and opted to wait for my reserved room.
Around 2:40 PM, a staff member called me back to the desk, stating my room was ready. However, the General Manager then intervened, loudly and harassing, declaring check-in was at 3 PM and that I should sit back down. When I pointed out his staff member said my room was ready, he asserted his authority. I informed him I would be calling on Monday, to which he dismissively told me to "take his card" as it was "his hotel."
I returned to my family, which included my disabled wife, my 73-year-old mother, and my two young children (ages 13 and 2). While we waited, the GM repeatedly made loud, audible comments to his staff like, "That's how you deal with people like him." I felt singled out. At 3 PM, other guests began checking in, and I eventually checked in shortly after 3 PM with a different desk attendant. The GM was then seen rolling his eyes at us near the elevator.
The remainder of our stay was unpleasant and unwelcoming. The room itself was subpar, with a loose door handle that I reported.
On Monday, May 19, I spoke with the GM's supervisor and relayed the entire experience. While she acknowledged he was under stress, I emphasized that this was unacceptable and expected compensation and a direct apology from him. I received a partial refund, but it did not adequately address the issues. The GM sent an apology email that placed blame on his staff and took no personal accountability. My reply, stating he was solely responsible for the escalation, went unanswered.
My delayed review was to give them time to address the issues. Will edit

Read moreWe (2 parents and kids ages 10, 13, 17) have never stayed at a Cobblestone Inn. We checked in at approximately 9pm. The check in process was smooth, the desk staff helpful, and our request for additional towels were fulfilled. The room had two queen beds and a sofa, but felt open attachments roomy. The room was clean. We all really loved the sofa "nook." (A bit of space somewhat separated from the rest of the room with a smaller tv.) We all got a good night's sleep. The beds and pillows were comfortable. The toiletries were a good quality. Breakfast was what you would expect at any hotel. Eggs, a meat, cereals, breads/muffins, and a (kid favorite) waffle maker. We arrived late, so we were unable to use the pool, but it looked nice. We would...
