The hotel looks good from the outside, but could definitely use some updates in the inside. The staff there are super nice and probably the best thing about the place. They were super helpful, but I'm not sure they took everything serious. The first room we were assigned smelled like stinky socks (as my kids said), but we were only there for a minute, because a truck drove by and used its brakes. It was so loud that I started to look at the windows to see if it was open. The one side of the window had been pried off. As I walked to the front desk, the housekeeper was in the hall and I mentioned the smell and the window. She said she would go spray the room. We were moved to another room (221). This room did not smell, but the furniture needed to be steam cleaned as the other room (225). Large dark spots on the chairs. The bathroom door was falling apart and they had tried to use screws to put the hollow core door back together, but it was still bulging out. The tub looked to be peeling off in one part and the paint above the tub was peeling too along with what look to be mildew/mold in some areas. Beds were comfortable enough. There is no elevator and the stairs are steep. My wife and daughter had issues with it.
They advertise the pool as indoor heated, but that is only half correct. It is indoors, but was not heated. When I asked the front desk lady about it, she said it is heated, but that several people over the past few days had told her it was not. The room thermometer read 83, but the water was maybe 60 degrees.
Breakfast is okay, but they could use a bigger room. To have maybe twenty seats is way under what they needed. They were out of biscuits both days we were there. The waffle maker mix was watered down so you only got about a half of a waffle. Bacon was better than most places as it was thicker than the paper thin stuff you normally get. They were out of muffins both days. The cheese omelette was very bland tasting.
I doubt I would stay here again for the price, but the staff was...
Read moreHorrible experience, avoid this place! Dishonest management.
I made a reservation thinking there was a hot tub. There is not. No problem, but when I arrived, the person at the front desk told me I could cancel and be refunded my money. I was concerned about the refund because it was a last minute cancellation, so she called and confirmed with her manager, April, that I would be refunded when she was in working the next day. I was standing there listening to this entire conversation.
So, I went ahead with the cancellation, and went to the Fairbridge Inn next door (which was way nicer, w/ hot tub and very well lit parking lot).
Sure enough, the refund never showed up. I have had to file a credit card dispute. I even have the proof of cancellation they printed me out, but they refuse to refund me. I finally got April on the phone, and her exact words were “I’m not disputing that I had that conversation (promising the refund), but my hands are tied and you have to call corporate.”
Why is it my responsibility to go through the corporate phone tree to argue about the refund you promised me? Not what I expect from a Montana owned business. What happened to keeping your word?
Had I been told I wouldn’t be refunded, I of course would have just kept the reservation and not double paid for a night next...
Read moreFor years we have always stayed at this hotel in Dillion twice a year and found it reasonable for our trips. Unfortunately we booked again this year and couldn’t believe the disgusting conditions our room was in.
The musty smell in the room was so strong we had to get the worker to spray it with something to get rid of the smell. The hotel receptionist said they could not change us to another room and offered another spray for the smell. That spray had a chemical ingredient which was not to be used in an unventilated space. A person could see the yellow of the pillows through the pillow cases and when I showed the attendant and requested different and clean pillows, he just changed the pillow cases and gave me the same old pillows back.
After driving 8 hours that day and encountering snowy roads and rain, we were dead tired and trying to find another hotel at that time of night was not an option.
I requested a refund on the room, or at least a partial refund, but the attendant said he couldn’t do that, but offered some extra points to use. I refused the points and I realized and understood the hotel was under construction, but never would have stayed there had I realized the...
