My husband and I stayed in the #1 Casita on Honeymoon Hill at the Hill Country Casitas this past weekend (12/2-12/4) and it was wonderful! The Casita has a ton of windows with incredible views out of each one and this particular casita is very secluded and romantic. Also romantic is the free standing tub for two and the dual head shower! The facilities are dog friendly and our dog had a great time. It was raining over the weekend but it was still a great get-away and we just enjoyed the outdoor fireplace most of the time. It is only a short trip from Austin but you feel like you're miles away. Each Casita has a kitchenette, very nicely stocked with essentials, which makes it convenient if you want to cook. We stopped at the Salt Lick on the way out there; picked up some BBQ and enjoyed that all weekend. The winery across the street, Hawk’s Shadow, has some great wine for tasting too.

Last minute getaway for my husband’s birthday. We stayed in the Gina B. The casita was very clean and well appointed with everything you would need. That being said a larger stock pot would be a great addition for pasta dishes or soups. The Casitas are not too close to restaurants so most likely you’ll want to plan your meals dine alfresco and enjoy the gorgeous views. We made a trip to the Hamilton Pool Reserve and after a long day of hiking it was awesome to enjoy a dip in the pool and retire to an oh so comfortable bed! I also had a chance to visit the bird blind and stations of the cross trail on the property both were lovely. We also visited the Texas Hill Country Olive Oil Company a short distance away. We will definitely be back to visit one of our new favorite spots.

This is absolutely what you need to get away from the city, work and just busy life. Las Casitas offers you not only a spacious but cozy “casita” but an extraordinary experience surrounded by nature. Started skies at night are another level, wild donkeys and rabbits might show up in front of your casita if you’re lucky. Definitely recommended, we feel so relaxed and thankful for this experience. Bird blind is another must go in the morning!!

Overall, very happy with the Ranch House rental and would return if ever in the area again. For this visit, we used as a base to visit Texas State Univ and Univ of Texas with my daughter. Couldn’t bring our dog as planned due to personal reasons, but the house is pet friendly. In general, the house was extremely clean, spotless everywhere. Front patio was wonderful to sip coffee and watch the sunrise/sunset. Regularly saw a family of foxes and the occasional deer around the property. House is 7-8 paved miles from any main road, so extremely quiet, except for when an occasional car passes on the country road. Suggest stopping at HEB for some initial supplies in Dripping Springs before coming to the house; otherwise you would have to backtrack the country roads after arrival. The house appears to be on the expansive ranch of the owner, but didn’t see another house or anyone on/near the property during our stay. House is adjacent (1/8 mile) to an active winery (Hawk’s Shadow); can even see the vineyard from the back yard. Just past the winery another 1/8 mile are the Casitas (same owner) which have a pool that can be used by the tenant of the Ranch House. Compared to the Ranch House, the Casitas look to be newer, prettier buildings (stone), but look less roomy and less private than the Ranch House. Location is 15 minutes from HEB / Dripping Springs, 30 minutes from Pedernales State Park, 45 minutes from Wimberly, 1 hour from Austin, and 1 hour from San Marcos. Only minor negatives – 2-car garage is right next to house, but unusable (full with storage). The town of Dripping Springs was also a bit disappointing as suburban sprawl from Austin brings busy traffic there most of the day, especially during rush hour – no longer the quaint, small country town from years ago.

Master Bedroom: Queen bed, ceiling fan, nice-sized walk-in closet, private bath/shower, with two sinks. 2 Guest Rooms: Each had two twin beds (total of 4 beds) with a shared bath/shower Kitchen: Full kitchen with stove/oven, refrigerator/freezer, coffee maker, microwave, toaster, garbage disposal, plates/dishes/silverware/grill tools Living Room: couch, chairs, daybed, ceiling fan, TV with Dish Satellite, high-speed internet Outdoor: two sets of patio furniture, garage (storage only - unusable by renter) Other: Central Air/Heat throughout, full size laundry/dryer, wood or tile floors everywhere, 3-5 days supply of local...

If you're looking for a nice get away or simple vacation in hill country, Hill Country Casitas did not disappoint! Location was perfect, close enough to places to visit, and nicely tucked away in the outdoors. It was a nice place to relax away from the hustle and bustle of the city and no one to disturb you. We had everything we needed and didn't need to bother the owners at all during our stay. Booking was easy and communication clear. The casita was very clean and nicely kept. Nice decor, modern bathrooms, yet homey, and very comfortable beds. There's the convenience of a small kitchen with basic amenities to store and cook whatever food you bring. Loved the porch sitting area. There's even a small pool on the property which is nice if you want to stay close by, but we didn't get to use it since we chose to splash at Riemer's Ranch in the Pedernales River instead. I happen to run across this place in my search of places around Pedernales Falls park area. It was kind of last minute planning, so was very lucky to have been able to make some reservations a little over month ago. We weren't able to get passes to visit Pedernales Falls park since those reservations go fast, but there were other parks/reserves in the Dripping Springs area to visit as well, great for kids. Close to Hamilton Pool Reserve (although unfortunately the grotto behind the falls were closed due to falling rocks from the Texas freeze back in Feb) and the pool had too much bacteria to take a dip, Milton Riemers Ranch which has access to the clean Pedernales River, and Westcave Discovery center. Plenty of wineries and distilleries in the area to tour and visit. Very quiet place, although we did stay during the weekdays, but it worked out for my family. Lots of places to hike even on the casita grounds, and after a busy afternoon exploring the outdoors, it felt great to come back and relax in our own casita. If I had a complaint, it would be that the wifi signal is not very strong at times, but enough to do simple stuff, which I don't mind, because would force your kids to have to interact in person and get off their electronics, lol. We would love to come back and hopefully be able find a reservation on a weekend that works for us, but it seems the dates I want are already full! I will have to find another time that will hopefully work because we really want...

The casitas could not be cleaner or better appointed for location!

Plenty of spots for our dogs to exercise.

I would have liked to had

  1. easier communication methods with mgt. over the weekend. All responses were “ leave us a message and we will get back to you on the next business day! Not helpful and frustrating on Friday evening or Saturday morning…..
  2. we found a grubhub restaurant to deliver Mexican, thank goodness, we were miles away from any services, we didn’t ck in until 7ish and were in NO mood to drive 13+ miles, one way, for food!
  3. next time I’ll bring a bright light bulb or two, it was so dark inside the casita, kind of depressing.
  4. toilet paper was great, none of the cheap stuff! A definite plus!! 5). Purified water container in fridge…plus! 6). Shampoo, CR, and body wash in shower…plus!
  5. Towels were Lucious, but, seems like they were washed with fabric softener and were not as absorbent as they looked! They also provided black wash cloths for makeup removal…plus!
  6. Beds were great….big plus!
  7. 90% of windows had chain operated, hand pull shades, they were nice and did go on the outside of the window to provide good light blocking, but, they did have gaps, if someone was determined to window peep it was possible, I easily remedied this in the bedroom by placing a few heavy & tall objects against the shades pushing the gaps closed and blocking any view. I can promise you NO ONE would consciously peek in this older chicks windows, so I guess the uncomfortableness with the gaps was a personal issue. Just sayin’.
  8. next time I’d def take a can of bug spray for inside and out, not that the cabins have bugs BUT the lights bring them in. I don’t like the thought of sleeping with flying critters or having them land in my drinks! 11). Lots of quality firewood provided for your outside fireplace.
  9. Beautiful hill country views!!
  10. Overall a really good experience and we would def. Go back with family and puppies!!!

Thank you for a very...
