Classic Inn Motel — Hotel in Dwight

After reading the Trip Advisor reviews stating this was a clean motel, we made a reservation to stay there overnight. I would not describe our room #110 as clean. There was a line of dirt/dust all along the wall on the rug that adjoined the bed. The blanket did not fit on the bed properly and I believe it may have been a twin size blanket on a queen size bed. It only covered the top of the bed with no blanket hanging over the sides. The towels were very thin.Pillows were flat. (My dad used to say, "you get what you pay for"). Since we only paid $45 for our room, I shouldn't have expected much but I did expect to at least sleep.Music blared from the McDonald's across the parking lot until 1am when I got out of bed, dressed, went over and demanded they turn it down or off. Upon my return from my McDonald's confrontation, a gentleman was in the hotel office ringing the bell and trying to wake up the caretaker to no avail. At 5am, we decided to go home. I called McDonald's corporate office In OakBrook ,Illinois when I returned home to ask about their policy of outside music blaring until all hours when there are two hotels right across the parking lot. We stayed on May 3rd and I have yet to hear back from McDonald's as to why their managers are told outside music is...

Hidden gem. That says it all. My husband and I had 1 smoking room and my brother-in-law another non smoking . We paid the weekly rate. It was cheaper than splitting a room at the super 8 across the street would have been. What they lacked for in vending and guest laundry they more than made up for in room space and great Wi-Fi. The room was very clean and smelled nice upon entering. Both rooms sported a fridge but no microwave. That was the biggest inconvience for people of our kind who travel for a living. There are 3 gas stations within walking distance, an arbys, mcdonalds, and a subway. Also they have a little Chinese and pizza place, with a mini gaming parlor between, right across the street. I never got to try the chinese but would recommend the pizza place for foods other than pizza. The t.v. is a flat screen. I believe its a 38. The channels are few and mostly news, but they do have Nick for the kids. Area seems fairly quiet although from our room a faint banging can be heard quite often, it's so faint i haven't even been bothered to mention it. With the other reviews on here we almost didn't stop, but I'm glad we did. I'll mark this one...

We had not planned on stopping here while on Route 66 but delays in Chicago led to the need to stop for the night earlier than expected.||||This is your archetypical American motel; a long line of rooms, with a second backed on to it in a single unit. The manager was pleasant and happily accommodated us; it appeared to be about half full.||||The front side of the motel was nearly fully occupied with trucks and a number of residents out talking; it looked like a group fishing trip. Round the back was quieter where we were.||||The rooms are of a good size but are very tired. The bedding had burn holes in it and the TV was not connected. We were only there for one night and as the review states you get what you pay for.
